      As for the next camping food, perhaps some nice flatbreads and roasted vegetables. Catching and preparing fish is always a favorite!

      Carne Asada Tacos with white onions and cilantro. Marinate the beef beforehand. And use corn tortillas. Easy but delicious.

    I think it’s hard for people to comprehend that when you film yourself solo camping, all the shots of you walking away from the camera means you have to come back for the camera. All the shots of you walking towards the camera means you left camera ahead of you and walked towards it. The work it takes to film might seem impractical to people which is why they have a hard time believing. But I love your videos and I appreciate the effort you put in them. I think when it comes to food ideas, carne asada tacos would be great idea. You can marinate beef and bring soft taco tortillas with few fresh veggies like onions it’ll taste great and be easy to make.

    As a newbie to your channel I was actually in awe of the effort you must go to in order to capture such great footage. It’s a real testament to your efforts that people believe you have a crew following you. When my wife sat down to watch with me she actually asked “I wonder if he edits his own footage” due to how punchy it is (crisp/concise). Love your channel, keep up the great work!

  • @ed-el5yy
    @ed-el5yy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +29

    From the beginning, I understood how much work actually goes into some of the shots you get. You have to land, set up the camera, leave, then re-land every time you have a shot of you approaching a shoreline. Every shot of you passing a spot on the water means you set the shot up in advance, floated by, and then went back for the camera. I hope you're laughing at these geniuses and their lack of common sense and forethought like I am. Your channel is awesome, and I've never once doubted that your solo trips are genuine.

    The intro had me laughing so hard! It is amazing how ignorance is so easily attainable. Wonderful way to handle it though through humor. Thanks for the excellent content and all the work you (and other "adventure" channels) put into filming said excellent content. The brussel sprouts and sausage looked delicious!!

    My favorite channel. Just great stuff. Been watching since day one. It has been awesome to see your development as not only an incredible creator but your personal development as well. Getting more comfortable and with that comfort it really shows your outdoors skills. No puff. Just cool stuff! That is your channel. Just incredible.

    This is hilarious 😄 I get accused of not actually being alone too.. I always assumed its because I'm female, so it's interesting that you get it too. Great video :) your filming is gorgeous and your wild places are so beautiful

    Anyone who doesn't understand what's going on hasn't watched enough camping videos and have NO appreciation of hat it takes to produce high quality camping videos like you and so many others. After all it's not easy finding your own "Gustavo".

    Imagine questioning this :'D I remember back watching Lars Monsen and his journey to cross Canada and he filmed walking away from the camera all the time, such dedication to create great content. (He used almost 3 years on his expidition). That shot at 07:10, love it.

I am not a person who looks for or creates problems but I do appreciate those that stand by their beliefs and experience.. Bravo.. Yes, I see and know the experiences, been there done that. will be back. Thumbs up...

    The first time I saw you was with Jon, Lost Lakes. I'm getting bored at home so I've been stalking your videos. Thanks for a good look into a quick solo trip. I solo camp but not as out of civilization as you. My friends have no concept of what it means to be without electricity and/or a bathroom. Of course they are older women who are hotel people. I can't talk about my adventures or show them how much time alone in nature is the best. Their loss. Fun video.

    Xander, recently discovered your channel. I'm in Eastern Ontario and frequent hwy 60 thru the Park on my way to Muskoka. I've always wondered what it would be like to backcountry camp in Algonquin. After seeing some of your vids, I just may have to ditch my weekend boats, beer, and beaches in favor of some kindling, homemade sausages and a tarp.
