Thank you! Was going to call out an engineer! A small sliver or carrot and some fluffy caused the error. Took me a pair of tweezers and 5 minutes to fix.

Can someone imagine that I fixed it???))) mom of 3, just instead of paying 300$ to someone, opened your video, followed instructions (though I had to disassemble that small part that you put away, there was a plastic thing stuck in there) and voila! Done! Will go and by myself a dress )

I did it and I switch it on with the door open. When it starts the program it looks like the impeller push the water into the dishwasher instead of push it out to the drain pump. Any idea?

Thanks so Very much...I've owned a swimming pool and spa repair company for 40 years and had no idea how to approach this repair. Your video is excellent and just saved me a 200.00 service call. Found bits of plastic, a bread wire tie and thread wrapped around the impeller. Got it out with hemostats and unit is functional again!!!

I didn't find any fragments this time, but then it occurred to me that I had never pulled and cleaned the screen/basket in at least a couple of years (!). Did that, and no surprise, it works like a charm. As usual, Scott comes to the rescue.

If you're not going to use your dishwasher for some time, add some distilled water to cover what is shown in this video. It helps to keep the seals wet. I was told this by a Miele repair man. You can reach the propeller just to the left and below the non return valve. My little finger fit in and was able to turn the propeller.

My Miele Man! This is the 3rd time I've done this in the 10 yrs I've owned my Incognito. Worked every time. This time I found a few pieces of glass in the bottom after I removed the works but I have no broken glasses so the glass must have been hiding somewhere. I was kind of flummoxed this time because after I did all you said, it wouldn't start even though the red light was off...Duh! I had forgotten to push a cycle button when I turned it on. All good now! Thank you tons!

Then I put everything back together & we're done. Thanks again, Friend.

For complete manual see link: m.miele.ca/OperatingInstructions/en-CA/Dishwashers/Previous%20models/Miele%20Dishwasher%20Manual%20G892-892SC.pdf
    Follow the maintenance section.
I followed this video which is good and the intake/drain was still flashing until I had to do the following procedure:
    1. Turn the dishwasher off.
    2. Hold press the start/stop button.
    3. And while holding down turn on the dishwasher.
    4. Hold it for another 2 seconds then release.
I don't know if this a coincidence but this just worked for me and the intake/drain stop flashing after I clean the pump as this video shows.

Whilst this helped me for the future.. understanding how to access the impella/intake etc.. my issue ended up being the energy saver mode triggering the drain/intake red light after it gets heat overloaded.. all of sudden just started happening, shuts down the function of the unit. After reading it in the troubleshooting section of the user guide.. I switch the dishwasher to normal setting and it now works. For anyone out there struggling with the drain/intake red light and no visible drain/intake issue

I have a very old Miele dishwasher ( G595SC). Recently the Water Inlet light has been coming on a lot of the time. After much cleaning and reading I have found that there is a High or a Low water pressure setting. This is in fact described in the manual. My water supply has recently been changed and is now Low pressure. I followed the instructions (it feels like a game hack) and now the error has vanished. I mention this in case others out there are running a 30 year old dishwasher.

Great video but I also had to check out the drain pipes. We had an F11 drain fault show up. We have a large family and also broke a couple fine wine glasses recently in the dishwasher. I found little glass pieces by following this video along with a really gross filter that needed cleaning but the F11 code returned. Your dishwasher drain pipe likely pipes into your garbage disposal. As a quick fix turn on your garbage disposal to make sure there isn't water sitting in there. Ours did and likely what ultimately fixed our F11 code. Before that I checked the drain pipes. There are two pipes connected to your dishwasher and passes under your sink, one for water to go in, one to drain. The drain pipe is likely warm if you just used it and little heavier if water is clogged. Our drain pipe under our sink had a joint we could easily disconnect and some gross water dumped into the pot I placed beneath it. I found another small piece of glass this way. Finally I opened up the air vent that is attached next to your sink. You'll see a small pipe within the air pipe. I used the faucet to run water through the small pipe which ran water to the open pipe below the sink leading to my pot. I then ran water to the large air vent and water ran into garbage disposal. That's when I realized I just needed to run the garbage disposal a little. Put the drain pipe back together and ran under rinse mode. FIXED!!!

    Hey Scott. Informative video!
My intake gets stuck every couple of years and soaking it in vinegar water usually does the trick. However not this time. What do you do when the basket is stuck in place and wont come out? I'm afraid of breaking that plastic handle

I think you had answered my question before. The machine wasn't draining completely. There wouldn't be any water in the machine, but when you pop opened the filter, there would be enough water there for concern. When we got a new non-return valve, it completely fixed the problem, after each rinse and drain, there wasn't even a half inch of water. Now, the water is much higher. It's still below the filter, the it's way too high.
Lately I've been using those Cascade Platinum tabs which is probably a big mistake because it's like putting Dawn in the dishwasher and I'm wondering if the drain hose is partially blocked with soap. Like I said, it still drains; but nothing like before. You can hear the difference. The water just doesn't come rushing through the bottom of sink like it used to. Another thing when you turn the machine on and it start to drain and it will make a noise just before it starts to fill. That's normal, but whatever water drained just seems to come back into the dishwasher. It can't be the valve because it's still in good shape. Uggh, when these machines work, they're great, but when something goes wrong; it's aggravating.
I called a place that works on European dishwashers and they're really. They're coming out on Tuesday. Miele Service just charges way too much to come out to do anything. We used them for our washing machine and it was a difference of $150.

      Good question,
It’s actually good to have about 1 cup of water under the filter to keep the impeller seal moist. Bosch does the same with their dishwashers.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I know what it is. The sealant to the where the non return valve connects looked like it peeled off. It's hard to describe. I'll take a quick video of it to show you. I don't if I can put a sealant or what.

I have checked every possible obstruction... the filter basket, the valve, the impeller. I can't find an issue. Everything is clean and/or able to move the way it should. When it first stopped working, the soap had already been released. I put another detergent tab in and for every subsequent attempt, the door doesn't open to release the soap. And it just pretends to work for a few minutes before getting stuck on Intake/Drain.

Hi scott, I have tried done as per your video but it cannot solve my problem as the inlet/drain light still flashing red.
The water level is higher than in your video so I guess it is stuck. Any advise will be much appreciated. Thank you

Hey - I have an Advanta Series - been running great for 15 years. I've tried this several times, the ball bearing is free; the impeller moves (w a little resistance). I tried the fork trick too (different video) but nothing really helped. Anything like being level, some kind of hose blockage, motor issues. I hear the motor which is usually followed by water running out (visitble through the bottom of the disposal) - but no water flows. Any ideas?

My filter in the bottom of the machine is broken. I have a picture but i cant show it here in the chat i think. Is the filter necessary for the machine to fill up and drain water? Or can it work without that filter? I am troubleshooting to find out what to fix as the machine dont fill

Do you have similar instructions on how to do this for the Miele Optima Series?
The video doesn’t exactly match the insides of my machine.
Same issue though. Intake/Drain light is flashing.
    Thanks!

      Your model is even easier.
Just pull off the filter and then to your left is the drain one way valve.
Pinch in with your fingers on the plastic tab and wiggle it off👍

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I got the drain parts off and cleaned them out but I still have the same error light. Could it be something else? Do I need to call a Miele repair person out to replace something internal? I appreciate the help. Thanks.
