- We hit 3,000 subscribers so it's nearly time for our huge 8,000 point Battle of Five Armies mega-battle - but first, we need to build the board! We go through the whole process from planning right up to deployment for the battle. We're not experts but we're very happy with the end result. I've left in all the mistakes too and there's plenty to learn from!
Hope you enjoy it - please Like, Subscribe and leave a comment if you did!

Incredible work! Can't wait to see the Battle Report!
Thanks! If you ever make a Warhammer World pilgrimage, we'll have to have a game! A jacob-off ! :D
What a beautiful board. Just in case he didn't say it enough; thanks again to his wife and Evie (I hope that's how to spell your name) to helping in the project. All 3 of you did a phenomenal job on one of the most beautiful boards I have ever seen. All the mistakes and hard work was worth it!!
Haha thanks - yeah they really bailed me out!
The Battle of 5 Armies is gonna be SICK!!!
Congratulations on the 3k team!
Fantastic work! 🎉
Thank you so much! It was a lot of work to get there..!
Such an awesome board! Your attitude towards any complications is really admirable. And being open about the mistakes makes this whole thing great to watch. Thank you!
Thanks so much! There really wouldn't be much of a video without the mistakes..!
Wow this looks amazing. I cant wait to see you guys playing on this. Epic
Thanks- it will be epic that's for sure!
I’ve been waiting to see a battle of the five armies battle rep! So excited for this
Not too long to wait!! :)
Top tier content, this is what we are here for. Thanks
Thanks so much! Yeah takes a while so have to mix it in with other stuff but there will be plenty similar stuff to come now I know people like the terrain stuff too! :)
Absolutely amazing work! I think that the grey-green your wife added was a great shout, it really lifted the board. Well done to all involved, you should be proud!
Yeah, it did save it big time. I honestly don't know why I went orange..!
Wow!!! Can’t wait for the battle report!
Thanks! Shouldn't be toooo long!
Wow big respect dude :) This gaming board looks amazing I want the same one.
Haha thanks - feel free to build along, but skip the painting it orange step..!
Fantastic! Subbed for the Battle Report!
Amazing thanks! Means a lot 👌
Mate this looks great. Really shows how well things can turn out even with the simplest of tools. I think I’ll take some tips out of this one for my own terrain builds. I’d love to do one with some snow on it now.
Can’t wait to see a battle report on this board.
Thanks!! So glad it's got a few people dreaming up some boards. Hopefully I've shown they aren't too hard to make..! :)
@@twotreesgaming my own ones taken a little longer. Kids and paralysis by analysis has delayed the progress soo much. I think I need a good deadline like you had.
Awesome build!!! Cannot wait to see the battle report!!!
Thanks!! Hopefully sometime before the new edition!
That's an amazing board.
For terrain, if you need lots of snow for cheap, bicarbonate of soda mixed with PVA glue and white paint works well and is a lot cheaper.
Interesting, I'll look into that. I didn't want anything that might yellow over time but my route wasn't cheap so I shall explore!
@@twotreesgaming the white paint deals with that in my experiance.... that said none of mine is more than a year old.
Ah cool, I recon if I can get it done and filmed it's fair game to turn yellow tbh..! XD
Loved this video! Such an amazing board, would love to play on something like that myself!
Thanks!! It's definitely achievable - start smaller though..!
Wow, absolutely inspired board and amazing video. There were so many cool tips and tricks sprinkled all throughout.
Also far and away the best river I’ve ever seen without any resin pours. Well done and can’t wait to see more vids👍
Thanks so much - it was genuinely just loo roll and paint because of the time constraint. Would definitely just do it that way again next time though..!
This is just stunning, and your approach to the build is brilliant - very inspiring!
Thanks very much! I think I had no choice but carry on and hoped it worked out..! :)
Wow this was amazing. That board and the battle look equally incredible. Thank you for making this video.
Thanks so much! Really hoping the battle lives up to expectations now..! :D
I'm so excited!
I hope it lives up to expectations..!
Best video yet. The river and icicles are genius given the time constraint.
Thanks! They do add a lot- had I not spilt the glue there would have been more 😂
Epic board, I bet the battle was unbelievable fun! Subbed
Thanks so much!
Stunning man, that looks awesome!
Thanks very much! Goblin Town was genuinely on the cards but you already smashed that one! :D
That board is breathtaking.😮
😁 thanks, turned out better than I'd hoped..!
Great stuff, and quite a journey of ups and downs ^_^
When you have been watching zorpazorp, as I have for many years, It is funny to find yourself mentally getting into back-seat driver mode while watching this video. Specifically I am thinking of the pencil and knife work, where I involuntarily went "mentally told you so" as I watched the previous part 😅
But I love how you own up to every part of the proces, so we better learn, after having been inspired :)
Thanks, definitely better to learn together than pretend I'm a pro! And Zorpazorp is the best tbh but I flick in and out and clearly missed the knife-before-pencil episode! 😂
Absolutely epic!!
Thanks!!
Great video and awesome scenery. looks incredible.
Thank so much! :)
Your wife and Evie are the real heroes of Erebor! Great work to the whole team, really enjoyed seeing this come together
Thank so much - they massively bailed me out..!
Amazing colors.
Thank you!
Massive well done guys, well deserved as well.
Also the board looks great
Thanks! Won't be tooooo long till the battle!
Great stuff. Well done! Curious why it got carted off to Edinburgh but I'm sure all will be revealed
Haha probably should have explained - that's where we have to film our games! We're split all over the UK!
Subbed think your content is amazing and I can appreciate the time spent keep it up and thankyou for much of your content
Thank you! It takes a while, but its so nice getting such great feedback - really do appreciate it!! :)
This is fantastic 👏 props on the all hard work this will of taken 😎💪🏻
Thanks! It was equal parts enjoyable and stressful - and congratulations on your starting a TH-cam channel too! I've got your bat rep saved to "Watch Later" 😁
@@twotreesgaming enjoyable and stress just sums up running a TH-cam channel 🤣 and thank you 😁 lemme know what you think. Was my first lotr video 📹
Thats an amazing board. Consider using mod podge matt/gloss, depending on your finish, instead of the PVE. It works better for sealing, the gloss one can work for the river if you don't wanna go with resin (or just some gloss varnish)
Interesting, I'll have a google of that! Thanks
@@twotreesgaming it is basically acrylic medium
Some mental effort gone into that!!
Thanks! I was very grateful for the help it has to be said..!
That is epic!
Nearly too epic but we just about made it..!
Really enjoy epic tables like this! 8k point game will be insane to watch too! Biggest me and my friend played was 10k and took us 2 days to finish it ahaha
Haha, that's crazy! Took us 11 hours this time, and that's my limit for editing..! Or maybe just past it 😂
Phenomenal stuff man. Would be a dream to play on a board like that
Thanks! Spend so long thinking about them, nice to actually make one!
"This is rock solid, there's no stones coming off this.."
*stones move*
"...There's not many stones coming off this"
🤣🤣🤣
😂 it's tragic!
@@twotreesgaming I cracked tf up haha. The board came out phenomenal though. Cant wait to watch the report.
Amazing bro!!!
Thanks so much!
Board looks amazing!
Thank you! 😁
Amazing
Thanks so much! :)
That's insane, what an incredible board and can't wait to see the battle report as somebody who also collects Mirkwood elves and Dwarves.
This is such an epic build, love how you're showing each stage.
Have you got a time lined up for when the batrep is being uploaded?
Thanks, I was stressing a lot because I don't normally make terrain videos (not an expert, as shown!) so glad it turned out ok! It was gonna be for the ten year of Five Armies which I believe is this December but the new edition has accelerated us, so as soon as possible but got three or four other videos first 😁
@@twotreesgaming tbh I really liked the fact you didn't edit out the mistakes. Really interesting to see and an amazing board.
Actually pretty funny too hearing you own up to the cock ups 🤣
Wow, I like the idea and the end result is really good. How did you do the eagles stands? They look much better than the short plastic sticks that come in the box.
Thanks! They're 4mm acrylic rods off eBay drilled into the bottom of the eagle and the base- no glue required!
Love the channel name, love the vid. Take my sub!
Haha "You have my sword" "And my sub". I'll take it..!
@@twotreesgaming In hindsight...this was a HUGE missed opportunity.
Thanks
You absolute legend, thank you!!
Stunning work!!!
Thank you!!
I've been watching your channel for quite a while now and watching you build a board is quite nice. I am glad you are taking on one of the lesser used locations for your board, instead of yet another Osgiliath. Good job getting the board all the way to Scotland!
There is one thing I noticed in your videos and thats the mic quality, especially in Battle reports. When you record the actual game play voices are recorded very nicely and very clear. When you do voice overs the quality is not as good, which I find strange. Have you found a reason for this? I feel like the Experience would benefit from more consistenly good mic quality.
This is really good feedback - I'm saving up the Patreon money for a new mic (they know!) and I'm pretty much at the point of getting a new one but I don't really know what I'm looking for!
The pieces to camera are just on my phone (Pixel) but I use an SM57 with a pop shield for voice overs - can't use my phone as I need a direct input to the video editing software or its just an organisational nightmare.
If you know anything about mics I would be very happy to receive some knowledge, if not you can rest assured that the quality will improve but probably only in time for the new edition content! :)
@@twotreesgaming I dont know a whole lot about it, I am not an audio recordings guy. Maybe it's not an issue with the Microphone (The SM57 seems to have rave reviews all around), but maybe about the environment in which you record, maybe the software/recording software/settings or the PC you work with? I doubt that its the latter, but unfortunately there are a lot of moving parts about this. Lots of TH-camrs record in walk in closets, because the clothes dampen so much sound. It's possible, though it might be really awkward, to achieve something similar with a heavy blanket? I am fairly confident though that TH-cam videos will have a good deal of advice on the topic.
Yeah I'll dig into some research but it may well be location as I record right next to a piano so that may be reverberating! I shall upgrade, but will take a few videos 😁
Looking great. Well done.
Thank you!!
Awesome board
Thanks! Issue with it being in Scotland is I've used it a grand total of one time! :D
Looks amazing. ❤
Thanks! 😁
Incredible effort, very inspired to make a board myself. What is the ice material?
Amazing! The ice is just perspex sheets of eBay, smashed with a hammer, sanded and dry brushed 👌
another brilliant video i love how you left your mistakes in dont see that very often its nice to learn from ps not sure what you said to evie but what a mate do you wana come do the crap jobs i dont on something you have no idea what it is and she replys yh sure !
brilliant look forward to next video
Yeah there wouldn't be much of a video without the mistakes..! 😂 And yeah, pretty sure I said "wanna come do some crap jobs" and the answer was "sure!" Didn't know what she let herself in for 😂
Woaaaahhh what a dream to play on that. Is this board in Scotland😮 Where did u get the big sheets of grey foam?
Some things ive learned is I just seal the foam with pva and paint then spray everything. Also spray from further away so the propellant evaporates before hitting the board.
Yeah it's in Edinburgh, I don't live there but I can deffo sign Aaron and Leon up to give you a game..! 😂
And that's good shout, lock it in with PVA then spray. I'll try it on something a bit smaller first..! 😅
Foken amazing
😂 high praise. Thanks!
Amazing! What are you using as a base under your foam mate? Just MDF? Where did you get it by chance thanks!
Just MDF from BnQ here in the UK. They sell it right off the shelf as 2x4 sheets. 9mm thick is what I use.
😍😍😍✅✅✅
