Thank you Mumbai Balcony Gardner for all your videos which are very interesting and informative. Have got one PVC hive yesterday from Binu. I have installed in my window and i am super excited about it. We have taken 2 more hives for our Uncle's Pomagranate farms on trial basis.
Thank you for your feedback , I really appreciate it . Congratulations on your bee hive. The hives for your uncles farm is a superb idea, I was talking to Binu yesterday who told me about the same, to have fruit trees and bees together , perfect symbiosis !
Binu is such a great teacher too! I was a bit dissapointed to find out they are tropical but so happy to see other people catching on to them. Congratulations! I know this will make you so happy. Who knew you could still have bees on your balcony! Not just your little colorful visitors.
I always wanted a bee hive but I never explored the idea as I had a conventional bee hive design in mind . This bee hive design , ease of harvest without disturbing the bees is just so brilliant and user friendly, I hope a lot of folks who didnt explore a bee hive option will do so now :) . I thoroughly enjoyed watching Binu at work at this farm in the videos shared by Work With Nature!!
Your videos are so very informative. Very comprehensive. I did not know anything about stingless bees before watching this. Thank you. Kindest Regards,
This is amazing - a stingless bee hive! I am so excited for you. This really makes it possible for more people in urban areas to have bees. It will be wonderful to harvest that first batch of honey!
Thanks Kim !! Who would have thought I could have a bee hive in my balcony ?!?! It is absolutely awesome and opens up avenues for so many to have a bee hive in the city and other places too, no fear of getting stung, no need for extra space in the garden , no need to disturb the bees , just such a win win . Definitely Ill be sharing the harvest video yumm yumm .
can't wait for that harvest vid! I'm going to research to see if there is anything like this here in the U.S. Thanks so much for sharing your excitement!
Didn't believe Binu when he said bees could be transported via courier. He asked me to watch this video. 😊 Awesome job Binu and Mumbai Balcony Gardener! It's time more and more people understood the importance of these lovely creatures. These videos go a long way in promoting bee keeping. Keep up the great work! I am now waiting for my PVC bee hives. I currently have two colonies of regular bees and three stingless bee colonies. Looking forward to having at least a couple of dozen more! 😊
Aravind Krishna Lol !! I was on top of the world when I found Binu's stingless bee hive farm through another YT channel , I love bees and I knew I couldn't think of them in an apartment setting and then I found Binu . Most adorable , these stingless bees 🐝🐝🐝. After this first one , I ordered 4 more hives over a period of 2 months. Did you see the update video ? th-cam.com/video/95xoTnXCLeo/w-d-xo.html Yes most people don't know that our food is linked to bees . Wish you the very best with your stingless bee hive journey😀😀.
Hi, how easy was it for you to reach Binu and get these hives? I have been trying to reach him for over a week now. Doesn't receive calls, doesn't reply to text, hasn't replied to my Facebook message. I have given up now. Looks like I will have to make myself a PVC bee hive.
For my first hive , it was easy . But after my first video was uploaded he has been inundated with calls and messages and unfortunately is unable to manage his calls and messages professionally and this is his biggest drawback. I too face the same situation when I need to contact him . He will be taking fresh orders only from July of 2017 . You can try connecting with him late June or so . Once he takes your order , rest assured he will fulfil it . I get several messages like yours when people are unable to get a response from him !! I will pass on your message via whatsapp and hope for the best :)
Mumbai Balcony Gardener | Avid Life Observer I can understand. It's difficult to manage one's daily tasks along with the calls/messages. I have messaged him that I won't be disturbing him again until he gets back. Thanks for taking the effort to pass on the message! Appreciate it. In the meanwhile, let me try my hand at PVC craftwork! 😊
Rahul Kumar Yes the update is he will take orders from August 2017 so I'm assuming he will take the calls then !! Please leave a message with your requirement anyways.
Yes, thank you , it is indeed wonderful to have them buzz around and come back to my window, earlier they would buzz around and go some place else :) !!
Binu now has a website from where one can order . The bees do well between 18 and 34 C . If you are not in this range , I would not suggest stingless bees .
wow super no words to explain. you are doing revolution via you tube. wonderful work. keep uploading the progress of the hive. Informative video. Thanks for sharing.
Hello my friend, first time I have seen this type of bee hive, very interesting and I will be looking forward to seeing your future videos. 🐝 Happy Gardening, Terry.
It was a first for me too when I saw this design and I knew I had to realise my dream and get the bee hive in my garden , thanks a bunch for watching , yes I will definitely update on the hive periodically :)
I am so happy to spread the word around on these gorgeous friendly little bees :):) . Funny part is they were always visiting my garden , i just called them tiny bees , I didnt know then these are stingless bees. Thanks so much for joining in on my excitement , do stay tuned !!
This is so cool. Please do upload a video when you are harvesting the honey! I never knew there were stingless bees. By the way you should continue to call Window #3 as the Monkey window :)
I definitely will be uploading the harvest video !! Yes it is just fantastic , I was thrilled beyond words when I realised I can have a bee hive in my windows!! These bees are native to Mumbai , they visit my garden every year, only back then I didnt know these are called stingless bees :) . Yes you are right , the monkey window name shall remain , it has a history to go with it :):)
That is awesome, I am so happy for you. I have never seen a hive like that before. And so glad it was not damaged in shipping. I love the footage you were able to get of them too. There legs were full of pollen.
Work With Nature I can't thank you enough for visiting Binu's farm without which I may never have got to know about this wonderful bee hive design, the videos have given me a lot of understanding of concepts . Thank you once again🐝🐝🐝🐝👍👍!!
Thanks for your video. I always wished to have a bee hive but never dared to owing to the city life constraints. After watching your video and seeing the bee hive model, it seems to be feasible to set up one. Please do upload videos on the progress of the hive
You are welcome Madhuri. I had the exact same thoughts before I saw Binu's bee hive model for the stingless bees . It is something anyone can have as long as there is some food source within 200 metres of the hive, so it works even when we do not have flowers in our own garden. I will definitely be uploading the progress and harvest videos , next video should come in 2 weeks . The bees are doing well and I have a total of 3 bee hives now in my monkey window :):)
OMG!!!!! I love your "permaculture" balcony!!! LOL!!! I enjoyed this video so much!!! But I think my family will cut my internet line!! Now I want a bee hive!! I got my first batch of worms 3 weeks ago after seeing your worm bin video....and now a bee hive!!! Haha!! this is so contagious!!!
LOL it is funny when you put it that way !! I'm glad the enthusiasm is infectious , such a happy and positive sight watching the bees work , glad you enjoyed this video :).
WOW such a GREAT colloaboration with WWN, i love him and remember watching the vids on these bees. it was so cool to see them do orientation flight on day one, notice how they exit backwards to get a view of the entrance. day 2 was awesome to see the guard bees watching the entrance. and of course the pollen packing was fun, the propolis cover to reduce the entrance was cool, they are just like honey bees. i am so motivatied to get some of these bees next year. Thanks so much for this one, great info all around !
Thank you so much , glad you liked the video , so wonderful to have this experience right outside my window , the design opens up avenues we city gardeners couldnt think possible !! This is what I was telling you about in my last comment on your channel , pleased as hell :)
You are a phenomenal gardener, I get so much inspiration from you .I've been wanting one of these for my own balcony garden, but thought it may be too much for such a small space. This video motivates me to set my objections aside and just do it!! Thank you for sharing, I look forward to your progress and harvest time!!
Oh! I so wish these were available here in the U.S. I'd really love to have some of these bees. Totally different from other honeybees. I'm sure the honey from these bees is especially delicious. Thank once again. Please keep the videos coming.
Yes hassle free bees , easy enough to keep in a balcony garden !! I have always had these bees visit my basil and mustard flowers , only then I didnt know these are native stingless bees and I would call them tiny bees . After I got my hive I connected the dots !!
I did a bit of research. Japan is importing them exclusively for greenhouse pollination. Japan, being a temperate zone couldn't raise these bees outside, but the greenhouse/hothouse environment is ideal and isolated from pesticides also.
Okay, those beautiful cats are upstaging the beehive, LOL! Those bees are tiny!! Never seen those. Amazing!! They do housekeeping. Now I want one, but it sounds like tropical bees should stay in the tropics. We have mason bees, but I've never been able to attract any to my mason bee home. I'm sure there's more I could do to attract them. Not much blooming here now except the basil which just keeps going. Lovely video, and so glad you took my early advice and set up the camera static, so it is possible to really focus on their activity, which is so interesting. You do so much with so little garden space. You are amazing! And your videos have really come a long way in production quality. Congrats my friend!
Haha yes , the cats are on the edge constantly in the day when plenty of butterflies keep hovering inside that window . You could enquire about stingless bees in your area. I think the summer cover crop sunn hemp seeds that are enroute could entice the mason bees to set base in your garden. Did you set up an insect hotel ? That's next on my agenda!! Thanks Kaye , for the praise and the positive feedback and for teaching me :):).
Like Jacq Davis, who I also inspired, you will surpass me any day! I look forward to the seeds. Hopefully they will withstand mildew, which plagues my garden.
It's awesome to see these little workers into your balcony garden MBG. 👍😊 Is there much literature on keeping them available there? We have a few books here but they are centred around the Australian species. I have seen hives for our natives that include a honey super for the top section of the hive. Am looking forward to the updates on the hive. 😊 Cheers & all the best to the family. Rob.
Thank you so much Rob , I'm happy beyond words as I never ever thought I could have a bee hive !! Now I have to think about those hens :):) . I have been looking for online journals but haven't been lucky so far, there aren't too many books online either, Ill have a visit a good library and try my luck. Will definitely be posting more on the stingless bees. Warm regards to you and your family :)
Wow... this is really a good concept. I am amazed with the arrangements. It has prompted me to also give a try. Thank you for bringing it up to the world.
Amazing!! Thank you for sharing this experience with us. I look forward to seeing more videos about the bees. Your garden is beautiful! Proof positive that you can grow anywhere if you have the desire.
Thanks , glad you enjoyed this escapade with the bees . I am looking forward to filming them myself , just fascinating !! My 4th year growing in this space and this has been my best year so far with regards to planning and utilization of space . I appreciate that you could appreciate my efforts !!
u r just amazing. Once decided u get it. I had also seen the video but was skeptical abt it. how would ut reach Mumbai. will i have to go there to get it etc. Thank u for lifting up my spirit to get one. lets c if i can get one now as u have showed me the way. I hope the building people allow
Haha yes as soon as I saw the video I knew I had to call for it , I spoke to Binu the very next day . I wanted to call for 2 but Binu suggested I take just one first and see how the bees survive the journey. Once they reached safely I ordered 2 more , now I have a total of 3 in the monkey window. I would suggest you call for the pvc hive , avoid the wooden one for now , as the bees come safely in the pvc one . These bees are tiny , around 3 to 4 mm , stingless and harmless , I have held them with my fingers . It is a 12 inch pvc structure you are going to hang in your window or balcony , involving the building won't be wise , they will only see the BEE part , not the stingless part . These bees are native to Mumbai , so they are probably around anyways in and around your building garden . Let me know how it goes for you.
WOW that is too cool! I learned about stingless bees about 2 years ago but the weather here is too cold for them. I am anxious to see more videos on them.
Yes it's the coolest thing in my garden right now , the red wigglers have serious competition now :):) , Definitely I will be following this video up with more , my pet project now . Thank you for watching and enjoying the footage!!
Hi MBG, As far as I know, stingless bees also swarm when the colony becomes strong. Bee keepers here in kerala try their luck by keeping empty bee hives with propolis pasted around the entrance to attract the new group coming out after swarming. This year, I got one . Not sure if it’s something which you already learned by now. But thought of sharing what I learned in the last one year.
Hello ! Thank you for sharing your experience . What I learnt is that when there is one or more queen cell in waiting and the colony is large enough , they try to find another place to settle down , so yes technically they do swarm to start a 2nd colony . Amazing you got lucky with the propolis trick . My very first bee hive , in fact the one in this this video which was the weakest of the 5 hives finally died , last inspection a couple of months ago revealed an empty hive . The other 4 are doing good , no stored honey for me yet , they store and use up , but I am happy just to have them around !!
Mumbai Balcony Gardener | Avid Life Observer As per the theory , sting less bee hives will have multiple queens which we call as gynee. The the role and power of queen is limited to one. Others will take over in a case where the existing queen is no more. Sad that you lost one colony but keep some propolis at the front entrance and keep it near a strong colony. Who knows if you are not lucky in the next season. Usually, swarming happens in dec / jan time frame.
Thanks , this pvc one is for Rs 1500 plus courier and the wooden ones you see in the video are for Rs 2000 plus courier charge. Charge is for the hive and the bees .
THANK YOU for this fascinating video. I look forward to watching your 'bee' journey. It is interesting how you have always needed a sunny window for your plants and now you have to find a shady area for your bees. Good luck my friend on this new journey of your life.
I am glad you enjoyed this video Lark :):) .. And I am ecstatic to be able to experience this joy in my garden , thanks to such a clever hive design. Yes shade should not be a problem in my partial shade garden , I am so looking forward to this new journey . I had sent you another PM , did you read it ?
No, I have not gotten any private messages. Maybe I am not looking at the right spot. I had gotten a couple from you regarding the cotton clothing. But I no longer see any private messages. I went to video manager, clicked on community and then messages. I have found some lightweight cotton clothing. Thank you for your offer, my friend.
Yes it is that simple !! Binu told me the bees do survive upto 40 C , you can have a word with him before buying ( call him only in mid August) . If you have a terrace garden you can keep the hives in a shaded area , may be create a microclimate with your plants that makes it cooler in that spot . I will also highly recommend you take a wooden hive ( like the one in my follow up video) and not a pvc , wood is a better insulator of heat . Once your hive is put in place you don't need to do anything !
WOW MBG, this is way more than what i expected it would be when u first mentioned about the hive ! Wish you the very best of luck with these new friends of yours :) I am sure after cats and worms, this would be a piece of cake !
Thanks Ranjini :):) . Did you think I got a box and kept it so that bees will hopefully make a home ?? You know me better than that lolol !!! Super excited, thanks so much for the good wishes :):)
Yes it is :):) , I am just thinking if it had not been for this Irish gentleman who is growing vegetables in Kerala and was visiting Binu's farm , I would never have known this is possible in my balcony garden . I absolutely had to open up this avenue for every Indian gardener, however small their garden is !!
My Uncle started keeping bees in his back garden he started with one hive, hes now got 3, i think he gets a lot of honey, honeys got lots of health benefits, and the beeswax can also be turned into a type of skin cream good for skin condition. Thanks, i find your videos relaxing to watch x
Lol yes very much real , I was thrilled when I discovered this treasure of a stingless bee hive , since they are tropical bees there is a good chance of you finding them in Pakistan as well .
Mumbai Balcony Gardener | Avid Life Observer yes ive been searching online but havent yet found anything like beehives for home....oh this stuff is so amazing, i wish i can get it here...is there any chance its exported to pakistan?
This is very exciting and you have made an excellent video. It's very informative and good to know that this kind of hive can be shipped. I'll be interested to see how this goes for you!
Thanks so much , very exciting indeed . Yes I will be posting another video on the bee hive designs in depth and then follow it up with a harvest video in time :)
I can't find any around here, I know there are wild ones but have to find them, I sent this guy a message and he is going to look into sending me a hive, not sure if it can be done, we well see.
You are most welcome, I can understand your excitement , I was so so happy when I found this bee hive video , I knew I had to order it and tell everyone about it because everyone who loves to garden would love to have this easy to use stingless bee hive !!
Do keep us updated. Love you for sharing this. Last year I had bought a box from Mahableshwar bee keeping society. But never got to using it. Now can't wait to get started on this. Thank you once again.
Thank you. It is a very interesting video. I would like to have a beehive with bees. How can I get it and how much i have to pay. I live in Pondicherry.
I have given Binu's contact details in the video but I am not sure if he is taking orders . You could search for stingless bee keepers in Kerala groups on FB , that is where all the stingless bee keepers are.
Mumbai Balcony Gardener | Avid Life Observer I am now looking into stingless bees here in USA. Where I live beehives, the regular honey bees are not allowed, but little hives with little bees, no one really knows 😊
No honey harvested , I have lost 3 hives over the past few years. Please visit Binu's website , search for the farm on google from the name I have mentioned.
Am a new subscriber and I see you've uploaded this video about 3 years ago. Am curious to kno is the hive still operarional; how many times have you harvested etc etc. I'm from Mumbai too and very very keen to keep such a hive.
Hi , of the 5 hives , I lost 2 to fungus . 3 are doing very well . No not harvested honey because there isnt excess , whatever reserves are built up are used up by the bees in the monsoons. You can contact Binu via his website to order a hive , no idea if he will be able to ship any time soon.
Hi , I have a question. How many plants do I need for a bee colony to survive on my roof top garden. As I don't have much greenery in 1 km radius. Thanks in advance.
You would need to have a mix of different flowering plants through out the year - the bees would starve otherwise . Summer blooming , winter blooming .. I'm not sure it would work without flowering trees near by blooming in at least 2 seasons .
Thanks ! Sunn hemp is used mainly by farmers as green manure to fix nitrogen in soil , so you will get it at seed shops where farmers buy , and not at regular kitchen garden seed stores. I got these from Namdeo Umaji at Byculla , Mumbai , this is a shop where farmers buy seeds and material . Packaging of these seeds is either half or one kilo , not less than this .
Yes I think it will a natural predator for the stingless bee since it is so tiny. I don't think the lizard will be able to walk on the bee hive to catch the bees , what you can do is keep the bee hive away from a wall, where the lizard will usually be . I have a spider that sits right outside the bee hive entrance and catches the bees for food , I cannot really do anything about it . I am also seeing spiders near any plants that the bees visit , for eg my pole beans , since they are so tiny , the stingless bees are an easy target for many .
Hi , the sunflower was in a vertical hanger type container, I had sowed the seed in one of the slots that is cut in the form of a plus + to sow seed or to put a plant . Sunflower is shallow rooted so you can use an 8 inch by 8 inch pot for 2 or 3 dwarf plants ( they grow to height of just 12 inches) , however if you wish to grow the big sunflowers , it is better to grow in ground .
You are welcome , I need to find out the scientific name of these bees, they could be the Trigona species but not sure . The broad name is meliponines .
Nice Video maam, did u harvest honey from the bee hives. How many of bee hives do you have now? Thank you maam for a wonderful video, After watching you video I'm also thinking to buy one bee hive from Madhusree farm.
Thanks , no not harvested honey , the bees make and use it in off season so far , will harvest only when there is enough spare . Currently 4 hives . Binu is not shipping at the moment , you may need to pick up hive , please check with him .
@@mumbaibalconygardenerhobbies thank you maam for your advise. Yes, i had contacted him and his father many times but they didn't reply. May be they are busy with their life. Actually I'm an NRE and I'm not in a hurry to get one. I want to learn more about rearing stingless bees and also about kitchen garden. My free time i always watch youtube vids about bees and gardens. Maam i subscribed your channel. And I'm going to watch all your vids too. Thank you
Hi MBG...thank you for sharing you fascinating experiences with nature. I have been trying to get in touch with Binu PT on the number you mentioned but unfortunately no one picks up the call. Is there another number we could call? I would like to place an order for a bee hive. Thanks to you for the inspiration.
Hello ! Glad you enjoyed the bee video , the update video is even more fascinating . Binu will be taking orders for the bee hives only in November , you can call him then . He is not too good with taking calls when he is travelling or busy with work. You can leave him an sms or a whatsapp message if you do not get through with the call , he will get back once he starts taking orders. Which part of India are you located in ? The bees do well in moderate weather - neither too hot nor too cold .Best wishes !!
Hi MBG thanks for your reply, I will definitely watch the update video soon. Regarding Binu taking orders in November, well it's the end of November now! And as you mentioned I did leave him a whatsapp message but he didn't reply unfortunately. Wonder how one can get in touch with him? I live in a city close to Mumbai so climate shouldn't be an issue for the bees, God willing. Looking forward to being a fellow traveller in your journey with nature :) Best wishes and Good luck!!
Tanveer Khan I spoke to Binu , he is starting fulfilling bee hive orders from next week. Due to weather issues the bee colonies we're not ready for splitting, hence the delay . You can leave him an SMS in case he is unable to take your call . Good luck with your journey🐝🐝🐝
Yes I will post the video once I am ready to harvest . You can see the harvest process in Binu's video , I have put the link in the description box of this video.
I checked with Binu, he said he knows that the bees survive in temps upto 40 Celcius but he has no experience with the bees in such high temps like you mentioned. I received your email , will get back to you on that :)
Bhavika Agarwal Try calling in evening. Leave a WhatsApp message or sms that you tried calling. I spoke to him yesterday, the number is fine. At times he is really busy, so I too wait for him to get back .
Hello , unfortunately Binu is terrible at taking calls :( . I will suggest you leave him an sms /whatsapp message asking him to call back regarding the bee hives . You can also try connecting with him on his FB profile , he is "Binu pt " . I had spoken to him after my bee hive update video when he told me he will start taking orders from July 2017 . I will try to contact him as well . Once he takes your order he will fulfill it , no worries on that front !
He has not been returning my calls either , probably best to try in July when he said he will be taking orders. In the mean while if he connects with me I will let him know about you .
This is so awesome and I would love to have one of these hives, especially since my husband is allergic to bee stings. I wonder if they would work inside of a warm greenhouse... So happy for you! :)
Thanks a tonne Peaches !! You could ask if they are available in the US. Does it get very cold in your area ? A warm greenhouse is worth exploring if you find these bees in the US.
Binu has stopped replying , probably not interested in selling hives , I’m sorry I can’t do anything about this . I will suggest you search stingless bees Kerala on FB and you will get names of other bee keepers who may be able to help .
Unfortunately Binu is not good with calls when he is busy. Please sms or WhatsApp him to return your call regarding the bee hives. He will be taking orders from July 2017 , however you can talk and book if you wish to .
The guy is charging a bomb for the hives. Have seen his other videos and don't see more than 150rs worth of materials. The native bees seem to become exotic by price
That may be true , but he is also giving you a set up bee colony that he has taken time and effort to prepare along with the information . He is also the only one who has shipped these hives to so many gardeners . I don't mind paying a small premium to have the bees around . How much money to people spend in clothes , shoes , bags , cosmetics , food , alcohol ? I am happy to buy the hives from Binu .
@@mumbaibalconygardenerhobbies I totally agree with you. I know these are not ordinary bees. I am willing to pay any amount for these bees. Iam an avid fan of Binu and now you've won my Heart. Hats off!! 👏 Please I too want to bring them Home and iam very much sure that these Beauties would definitely love the Nature that iam surrounded with. Please if possible on my behalf ask him to Ship it to my Location. 🙏🙏
Binu is not taking calls or orders for stingless bee hives .
Kindly note , thank you .

Can u share contact number of some one who can remove d honey bees
Didn't know stingless bees existed ! I really want to get bees now!!! 🐝🐝🐝
Me neither !!! Do regular bees like your climate if you were to have a bee hive ?
Thank you Mumbai Balcony Gardner for all your videos which are very interesting and informative. Have got one PVC hive yesterday from Binu. I have installed in my window and i am super excited about it. We have taken 2 more hives for our Uncle's Pomagranate farms on trial basis.

Wow what a wonderful comment to this video , thanks a tonne , yes I will share everything that I am learning , that is the aim of my channel :):)
That's a unique style of bee hive. I will follow your progress with the bees. You've done well.
Yes it is , that is what makes it so brilliant and user friendly. Thank you and best wishes to you !!
Wow!! I'm hearing stingless bees for the first time honestly!! Super excited for you... Will stay tuned for more videos from you :)
Thanks so much E , I just love watching them get into the hive with those pollen packed legs, some of them waddle in with the weight :):)
Am so happy for you. Is really amazing how they can be just shipped in a box like that. Really nice video :)
Work With Nature I can't thank you enough for visiting Binu's farm without which I may never have got to know about this wonderful bee hive design, the videos have given me a lot of understanding of concepts . Thank you once again🐝🐝🐝🐝👍👍!!
BTV how exciting can't wait for the next installment!
Thanks , me too !!
This is what I was telling you about in my last comment on your channel , pleased as hell :)
haha im so pleased for you that im looking to get some of my own ! figuring up plans to make a hive right now lol
Wow, this is fantastic! I'm looking forward to seeing the hive's progress :D
Thanks , glad you enjoyed the video , the update is due in a couple of weeks .
Cheers & all the best to the family.
How about Quail ;)
Wow... this is really a good concept. I am amazed with the arrangements. It has prompted me to also give a try. Thank you for bringing it up to the world.
Yes just wonderful , it opens up an avenue we thought was not even a remote possibility !!
I appreciate that you could appreciate my efforts !!
thank u mam for sharing such a beautiful info...I was thinking for keeping bee hives in my garden from many days...this video will help me alot
I am glad you found the information useful , Binu's hive design makes everyone's dream of having a bee hive possible !
yes...and keep updating videos on it...if u do any changes or harvesting from it..Thank you
Yes definitely , there will be follow up videos on the hives , any problems I encounter and of course the harvest video !!
u r just amazing.
Let me know how it goes for you.
sure will let u know as soon as i contact Binu. Let c how it goes, Thank u again,
WOW that is too cool!
Wonderful video!! So happy for you (and the bees)!
Thanks a bunch , I am thrilled beyond words to have the bees joining into our family :):)
Thanks so much again !! I will try it out.
Hey...i just loved it....pls share the link to the harvesting video
Impressed, Thank you.
Nice Video... would You please tell me the price how much You paid for a Hive ?
Thank you for your offer, my friend.
your excitement is contagious throughout the whole video.!:-)
Yes , it is just the most exciting time for me to have my own bee hive , I love bees and I usually grow plants that attract bees :):)
Thank you for this very informative and comprehensive video. I did not know anything about stingless bees before watching this. Kindest Regards.
Is it that simple to have honey in Urban home ! i will book now ! But will they survive hyderabad heat of 40Degree ????
Haha not really, but this is way more functionally promising than i had imagined! A lot of people can benefit from this.
Yes it is :):) , I am just thinking if it had not been for this Irish gentleman who is growing vegetables in Kerala and was visiting Binu's farm , I would never have known this is possible in my balcony garden . I absolutely had to open up this avenue for every Indian gardener, however small their garden is !!
good video, new type of bee
Thanks yes , a very friendly bee :)
My Uncle started keeping bees in his back garden he started with one hive, hes now got 3, i think he gets a lot of honey, honeys got lots of health benefits, and the beeswax can also be turned into a type of skin cream good for skin condition. Thanks, i find your videos relaxing to watch x
That is wonderful ! These bees being so tiny , harvests are pretty small as well . Glad you enjoy the videos !
oh my god,is this real ...i so want to have this bee hive.ive never seen it here in pakistan but i'll try to find out...thats amazing
OK that is very cool, I just watched David's videos on the farm and the bees are so easy to work with, this is something I want.
Yes it is just super cool, I have seen stingless bee videos from South East Asia , so I am pretty sure you will be able to procure them in a jiffy!!
I can't find any around here, I know there are wild ones but have to find them, I sent this guy a message and he is going to look into sending me a hive, not sure if it can be done, we well see.
I saw a video of someone from Thailand with these bees, Ill try to find it and send you the link.
Thanks, has to be here somewhere.
Here it is th-cam.com/video/RX0Fww_dND8/w-d-xo.html
Wonderful! Enjoy your bees.
Thanks so much :):)
What kind of camera do u use. Video quality is good. Please specify. By the way you're amazing. I am of your same kind.. plz reply to my query
Hello Aysha . I use Sony A6000. For some of the footage I have used the 30 mm macro lens . Thanks 😁.
Great! The video was very well done and i am excited!
Glad you found it useful , I'm excited too , let me know how it goes for you !!
Hello MBG,Great video!!Really inspiring me to purchase one!!
Thank you Shalbin , you really must , considering Binu is practically in your backyard !!! How far is it from where you live ?
Thank you so much for this video. Loving this. I called Binu spoke to him. I too am going to buy one and try it out at the farm, Thanks once again.
Will definitely update on the bee hive , thank you so much for the love :):) , the aim of my channel is to share whatever I am learning .
Wow that is really different I live the USA we keep bees I never saw a hive quite like that.
Yes I never thought it possible for me to have a bee hive till I stumbled upon this bee hive design thanks to the Irish gentleman's video !!
Wow, amazing!
Thank you :)
Mumbai Balcony Gardener | Avid Life Observer I am now looking into stingless bees here in USA. Where I live beehives, the regular honey bees are not allowed, but little hives with little bees, no one really knows 😊
Were you able to harvest the honey. I'm also interested in installing bee hive in my terrace. Can you please send me the links regarding this
No honey harvested , I have lost 3 hives over the past few years. Please visit Binu's website , search for the farm on google from the name I have mentioned.
@@mumbaibalconygardenerhobbies thanks for your reply. I live in Bangalore and was wondering if I will be successful in honey harvest
Yes Bangalore is perfect weather wise for these bees . If you have nectar and pollen sources close to you year round , you will be able to harvest .
Nice!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much Donna !!!
@@mumbaibalconygardenerhobbies Thanks a ton for your reply. Yes, I will order a few hive boxes from Binu. I follow his TH-cam videos regularly.
That is so cool, how exciting!
Thanks so much !!
your videos are interesting.
I want to know from you, from where I can get some sunn hemp seeds.
I will be thankful for the information.
Packaging of these seeds is either half or one kilo , not less than this .
is house lizard dangerous to this stingless bee? i have kept it in by balcony....
Wow amazing ❤️ love it
Make updated video please
Thanks !! Check the playlist , there are a few videos after this one on bees .
Hi..how big is the container in which you grew sunflower
Hi , the sunflower was in a vertical hanger type container, I had sowed the seed in one of the slots that is cut in the form of a plus + to sow seed or to put a plant . Sunflower is shallow rooted so you can use an 8 inch by 8 inch pot for 2 or 3 dwarf plants ( they grow to height of just 12 inches) , however if you wish to grow the big sunflowers , it is better to grow in ground .
Thank u for sharing the details..it is really good to be on your channel.
You are most welcome and thank you for appreciating :)
Thanks for sharing, what is the scientific name of this bee? Thanks a lot!!
You are welcome , I need to find out the scientific name of these bees, they could be the Trigona species but not sure . The broad name is meliponines .
Mumbai Balcony Gardener | Avid Life Observer Like and subs. I want one for my tetragonisca angustula :)
Thank you !
Great info. Thank you
This is so exciting..lovely :)
Thank you , yes I am super excited to have the hive just outside my window :):)
Thank you
very nice! I want bees!!
Thanks , such gorgeous creatures !!
hi, do you still have your stingless bee hive?? i got one from pune & now i've got 3 on my terrace. hope yours are doing fine.
actually i managed to trap 2 wild hives from an industrial estate as well
Wow that’s amazing !! If the 5 that I started with I have only one that’s doing ok . Not venturing to split it in case I make things worse 😅.
Looking forward to being a fellow traveller in your journey with nature :)
Best wishes and Good luck!!
I did leave him several messages on whatsapp but I shall take your advice and SMS too. Thank you very much for your assistance. Happy Bee keeping!!!
how to extract honey from stingless beehive? pls post video for extraction process.
Yes I will post the video once I am ready to harvest . You can see the harvest process in Binu's video , I have put the link in the description box of this video.
Very nice ❤❤
Is that floria
I am just wondering if it can sustain the summer heat of 45 - 48 degrees.... please share your knowledge here too.
Ill let you know .
I checked with Binu, he said he knows that the bees survive in temps upto 40 Celcius but he has no experience with the bees in such high temps like you mentioned. I received your email , will get back to you on that :)
+Mumbai Balcony Gardener | Avid Life Observer Thank you for the update and waiting for your response to reach out Binu.
I tried calling Binu but his phone appears switched off.
Bhavika Agarwal Try calling in evening. Leave a WhatsApp message or sms that you tried calling. I spoke to him yesterday, the number is fine. At times he is really busy, so I too wait for him to get back .
How much it costed you
Its 1500 for the pvc hive with the bees and 2K for wooden , courier extra .
enjoyed this
Thank you !
Trying to reach to Binu since last 5 days but no luck :(....is there any other way to contact him ?
Hello , unfortunately Binu is terrible at taking calls :( . I will suggest you leave him an sms /whatsapp message asking him to call back regarding the bee hives . You can also try connecting with him on his FB profile , he is "Binu pt " . I had spoken to him after my bee hive update video when he told me he will start taking orders from July 2017 . I will try to contact him as well . Once he takes your order he will fulfill it , no worries on that front !
I tried everything by phone, sms, whatsapp...now trying through FB...lets hope he will contact back.
