  • A very short video to help understand the possibilities when feeding stingless bees. There are many more advanced feeders than shown in this video.
    The sugar recipe mix is.
4 litres of water brought to the boil
    6kg sugar
    6 grams of citric acid
Optional vanilla essence or lemon essence
6kg of sugar added and temperature held at around 80 degrees celsius until dissolved. 6 grams of citric is then added. Best if the citric acid is dissolved before adding. Stir in and take off the boil.

How long can you used the liquid that you put in the feeders. ?
With the heat and sugar it will start to ferment. ? Thanks Neville

ants especially small once can actually walk on water. When the water catches small particles from air like small dust, they can walk thru that. I've seen it and still couldn't believe my eyes. I replace it with grease.

Hi Nick, with the pebble feeder and float feeder do you find the mixture makes the pebbles and floating piece sticky and the bees get stuck to it?

itox Waskitho a sponge feeder is the best for preventing bee deaths. Tolerances on float feeders need to be super accurate.

How do you know if the hive requires a feeder?

Rsdisme if your bee numbers are low and you can see barely any food stored by the bees.
