To this day, no one sounds like him or sounds as good. Tragic we lost him way too soon. I miss him. I was 16 when i first heard that amazing voice and he became the gold standard which i compared all others. RIP Brad. I pray you’re singing with the angels.
I only wish that Brad knew how much his voice and his music meant to so many of us. It breaks my heart that he considered himself "a lonely man". Rest easy, amigo.
He certainly knows who his true fans are.and of course it sad as hell he,s gone but his soul was meant to be here for a short while then was called back home to the spirit in the sky.he had enough and new it was time to depart.we love you brad delp.never anyone like him.rock on old bean.
RIP Brad Delp....My all time favorite Rock & Roll singer. I was a Senior in High School when Boston released their first Album. It especially bring's back a lot of very special memories for me that I will never forget. I know every song by heart. I wish also that Brad knew how much his voice, and music meant to us. I Love all of Boston's music, but there is a special place in my heart of their first album. It is special to me and one other person. We dated in High School. We went our separate way's in 1977 the year that I graduated. We re-connected in 2017 & was later married on December the 3rd. of 2017, and she is now my Wife. I Love you with all of my Heart 💖 Kim....
It’s 115 in the morning , I can’t sleep and now I’m crying and can’t sleep after reading your comment about Brad and getting hooked back up with your gf after all those years. The stuff that good movies are made of. I was in college at Oklahoma State when that first album debuted. Boston has been my band since then. When we lost Brad it hit me like I had lost a family member. Hope you and the wife have a fantastic rest of your lives. Rock on buddy
Some groups can go on without their lead singer Boston is not one of them. Nobody can ever replace Brad. Brad has rocked the world and now he is rocking the heavens.
God what a voice. We miss you Brad. You are in my top 10 rock vocalists of all time. RIP my friend. Good luck on your new journey. No doubt you are back again.
He truly was the sweetest man in Rock n' Roll...I was fortunate enough to met him once and was totally amazed at how nice of a person he was. And his voice was always perfect. He is why I fell in-love with sound of Boston and RTZ. R.I.P.
He lived in my town (Londonderry, NH) at that time. He did a carreer night at the highschool. Needless to say the room was packed. He was so nice, would say hello to you at the store if you saw him. He and his wife would ride thier horses down the dirt road I lived on.
You're right! I have never heard of Brian Maes but now I see he penned this song, which is odd since I thought it was a remake of an old song. Thanks for the insight. Cheers!
Till your love comes back around I don't think Brad new how much we all loved him I hope one day we'll see you and here your beautiful voice again miss you buddy❤
I looked up to Boston and especially Brad delp since the beginning I was inspired to play guitar I attempted to learn all of their songs and to this day I still listen to their music rest in peace Brad. We all miss you but we will always remember you
Thanks for sharing this beautiful song and photos, i consider the debut album of Boston as the best rock album in history, the voice of Brad Delp and the sound of the guitars, there was nothing like it before Boston debut or after, it is considered also as the best Boston album and it is the best selling album by the band, the album sold 37 million copies in the United States and the rest of the world, Brad Delp was one of a kind, cheers!
Such a beautiful voice. I’m filled with sadness every time. Part of all the things that I wish was different. The music of my youth and now much later.
Love this song, especially the build up to the 4:26 mark. Check on "A Man I'll Never Be" (B. Delp with Boston) if your looking for, or want to be reminded of a strong ballad with a chill factor.
I never can play my rtz "cassette ",Yeah cassette without shedding tears... one person whose beautiful vocals are lost ,but I did get the honor of watching Boston perform with the original band!!! such a huge loss, rip Mr. delp
An amazing song. An amazing singer and musician. What a talent, and I know a lot of People were, and still are touched by Brad and his gifts. I never met him, but all I've ever heard or read was that he was just as wonderful of a human being, as he was a singer. Rest easy, Brad. I will never forget the first time I popped in the RTZ cassette tape. I had a great feeling. I was right. Man - what an album! What a treat. I wore it out. Wore out a second cassette tape that I found years later. And then.... even more years later... found a CD at 2nd & Charles - used for maybe $2.00. Like brand new. Wow! What luck. I still listen to it often. And it is still fantastic! In my work-shop right now.
Incredible ! This fantastic song was uploaded some 7-8 years ago, and only 364 plus one people found the way to the thumbs up button, even there were almost 50 000 views ???? What's the matter with this world, don't people reckognize talent, elegance, beauty and all other positive things anymore or what ??? I admit, I only knew a few Delp-Goudreau songs, which is not bad at all for a European, but gosh, when I heard this ballad, I personally wanted to give the 50 000 minus 365 viewers a solid kick in the rear, with either the left or the right foot. Damned people, wake up, don't just approve the songs that stupid DJ's with tunnel vision claim to be hip and good taste. In - cre - di - ble !
Such a beautiful song and an absolutely incredible voice. The music world has lost one of its very best and the world, in general, has lost such a generous soul. You are sincerely missed. God Speed!
Bryan maes wrote this song RTZ so underrated they deserved more than they got saw RTZ in new orleans back in the 90s they were bad to the bone great show guys never forget that night !!!!!!!!!
I met Brad in 1995, we had a lot in common and were neighbors when he died. He was a tortured soul. He was a good man. Loved his children. Mickey puts the blame on Tom Sholtz but she kept him from being the dad he wanted to be which was all he wanted.
mooner561 man i would have loved to meet the man behind the Golden voice! my All Time Favorite Band! Boston! my God that VOICE! when i seen him sing Amanda" in 87!!!!! @ DTE in Detroit! not a Dry eye! in the crowd! rest in Heaven Brad Delp! & thank you for givin the world your beautiful gift!🙏😍
mooner561 plus my friend he killed himself because of her and bitch sister. You can find the exact reason because it came out in court. Not Tom. That tramp didn't take care of him like he needed. It wasn't lonliness that killed our sweet Brad. Wish he was my man. Take care.

He lived right in Atkinson NH. I live in Salisbury right up the road. How awful he is gone.
Was Such an Incredible Singer!! And this band RTZ was a Great band I went to see them at a Rock club in Dallas, TX and met the bass player a nice guy took us on the tour bus and met Barry G. And sat on the bus and Brad Delp came on and sat and talked to him for a while when they say Brad was the Nicest Guy in Rock n Roll their dead on!!!
Seriously, Delp's higher register before reaching falsetto (even if he just did it once perfect in the studio) is truly one of the most gifted and highest registers known in the history of rock vocals, to this day. Boston's first album through a good turntable and decent audiophile system simply sounds amazing, it is the epitome of analog audio and best rock recording of our age. Digital recording will never sound that good, because it can't.
no. That first album has great songs indeed, but the overall majority of the mixes are absolute trash because of Tom Scholz. don't get me wrong; I'm not talking about Brad's performances or the songs themselves. I'm talking about the mixes. As someone who has mixing and mastering experience, those mixes are absolutely terrible for the most part even if you consider the gear and technology that was available at the time
@@a.h.m.9420 As a guitar player and someone who has also produced and mixed, there were very few boxes left unchecked on that first album, a bad mix wasn't one. Scholtz insisted he record the tracks (to pretend he had a real band), but it was mixed on the west coast with full resources and Epic records backing, not to mention legendary John Boyland co-produced. Would it have sounded better recording in a real studio? Who cares... It became the best selling debut album with over 20 million units sold world-wide. My impression with a freshly pressed album, high end turntable and JBLs still stands, it sounded amazing. It had a dynamic silence and airy analog feel that that isn't possible in today's digital world. Unless you have new pressing of "Boston" and a higher end turntable system, you aren't listening to the same thing I describe, even with an old album.
@@michaelk8710 almost every mix on that album has some of the most important elements completely buried under distorted guitars; not to mention Brad's vocals being one of the casualties of this approach
I never met you and I never seen you live yet I feel connected to you somehow. Maybe its the music maybe it was the way you exited the building. I don't know but I started hearing overwhelming sadness in the music of Boston esp 3rd stage right about the time you chose to leave. I will always love your music and mourn your loss. I understand grief and sadness and depression. I've seen it destroy so many...
I feel you. You must be in my head. I could have written this post. I miss this man and I never knew him. Brad's voice resonates in my life .... I wish something could have saved his.
Everything you've said is how I feel. I too never met this man yet the heartbreak in me is overwhelming n ongoing.... how I wish....so many things....😢
I don't get it.... BEAUTIFUL MAN. Thought of others than himself. ONE OF THE GREATEST VOCALIST OF ALL TIME. I've been a Boston fan for Decades, yet been REALLY DIGGING IN TO THE BAND AND INTERVEIW I CAN FIND... NOT MANY. What a devastating lost to music. REST IN PARADISE.

The anthem of a life well lived. Bless Bradley Delp.
Could a man have a more emotionally uplifting voice to listen to than Brad's? I haven't heard one that compares yet.
Brad's Angelic voice is my only medicine against depression!
Ironic, since it was depression that took him away....
Oh Lord, it makes me want to cry. Missing Brad Delp
Why is it that the most gifted among us are invariably filled with so much pain. God rest him.
