A trick I learned when I worked at the school cafeteria. To keep onions from burning your eyes, keep them in the fridge. It's the oil in the onions that get in the air as you chop. When they are cold the oil don't squirt in the air near as much. Try it, it really works
I make pork carnitas with the same seasoning. I use roasted red, green bell pepper, poblanos, and jalapeños . I use a pork butt most of the fat removed. I would add less liquid on the pork because there is a lot of fat a juice in a pork roast.
Making our second batch of this now! We really liked the first batch we made. My wife would dump the entire jar in a large bowl and mix it with an electric handheld mixer.
I got bone in thighs and legs at Sam's for 1.08 yesterday, canned them this morning. Boneless was like 2.20. Still the cheapest I've seen in awhile. Need to make this one!
I have decided to do this tomorrow so I just put a Walmart order in!! I get my chicken at the butcher and I already have a ton so I can pull from my freezer. 😃
Woman! I’m loving all these meals canned recipes!!! I’m gonna need more pantry shelves! Are you still using the shed pantry? I think that was you🤔??? If so let us know how that’s working out for you! Another great video!!! You rock!!!🤩
I agree about the Rada knife sharpener….I LOVE mine! I have quite a collection of the Rada knives and love them too. Thanks for another yummy canning recipe! Sure wish I could find chicken on sale so I could get busy with these creations😋😋😋
The peppers seem like the most intimidating part, but you make it look easy… and worth it. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing the crack it open taste test video!
Yep, I need to add this to my list..lol... I have never skinned a pepper before..lol.. first time for everything. Today I canned a chicken pot pie base. Day before I did seasoned browned gr beef. Tomorrow I need a rest...lol... I need to get some beans and ham done up soon.
Another I need to make, I'll just use chic thighs, my preference. You need to slow down girl, I can't keep up, lol. I canned your Mexican meatball soup today, smelled n looked great, can't wait to try it.
I canned this two weeks ago minus the peppers cuz I didn’t have any but it doesn’t matter - just made some tacos for lunch and soooo good. Thank you Jeni for this recipe.
I haven’t had any problems with buckling. I had one seal pop on my shelf, I found it yesterday and checked the rest. It was a white compound pur lid. Other than that, I haven’t had any problem making and I have used several boxes of them. 😊
Jeni, did you listen to the music you played in your video as a teen growing up? And, who is the artist or artists? Your canning looks scrumptious!! ❣️♥️🙏🏼♥️❣️
They are still safe to put on the shelf. They sealed fine. If your siphoning leaves you with a lot less liquid and the meat and veg are way above the liquid line, then use immediately. 😊
I can not wait for you to show use how this turned out, looks like a winner. Chicken was on sale here this week for 1.40 lb. wish I had bought more. Wonder if you could do those in pint jars instead of quarts, will wait and see about how much you end up with when you empty the jar, hurry!
I would love to see enchilada chicken canned. I have been told the tomato or pepper sauces will scorch because the canning time is longer because of the meat. So I’ll be watching for that.
SO wish I could buy poblanos! Any ideas about a substitution? Outside the southwest, it can be very difficult to buy the ingredients I want; the flavors I grew up enjoying and crave. Sigh. This looks so scrumptious. My mouth is watering. What a treat jars of this would be!
This would be great for quick lunches and to pack for going camping. Kids love taco! I make my own taco seasoning and jar it up. About how much of it would I use in place of mix of spices you put in? Basically my taco seasoning has the same as what you use, including the Mexican oregano. Thanks!
Thanks! Nope, the recipe isn’t approved because I just wrote it and the USDA hasn’t started picking up my recipes and approving them yet! But, chicken is approved, raw packing is approved, onions and peppers are approved, spices are also approved. This is MY recipe NOT in Someone else’s book. 😊
I have a question? I have been using my Pur jars and lids with my steamer canner. I have had fallers with both the white lids and red compound lids. So would they work better for pressure canning or even just water bath canning with a regular canner. I want to try just nervous because I don’t want more fallers. I have noticed they have worked good for you when you pressure can. Thank you 😊
I really need to make a To Can list! I need to go back through your videos because I know there are several I want to can!
Happy canning! 😊
20:08 That's "chicken math" only subtraction!🤣
Pretty problano peppers are huge and perfect shape. 😊 watching from Texas, this is my kinda recipe. Thanks. Happy canning. ❤
That knife is sharp you are a skilled veggie chopper
Thanks! 😊

Never have seen pur jars in my area

Yes, you got that right. . . . ."YUM...."!
I save the onions for last when possible. Then the cutting board, knife, etc., go into the sink and I rinse with water.
Another one that looks delicious. Thanks so much for putting these videos together. You are my go to canning girl!!!
Thank you so much! 😊
I can not wait to have this on the shelf!
This looks delicious! Can't wait until you try it on camera!
Good video 👍
Thanks! 😊
I would love a video in the enchilada sauce with chicken in it.
Great recipe. Homemade fast food!!
Thanks! 😊
Making our second batch of this now! We really liked the first batch we made. My wife would dump the entire jar in a large bowl and mix it with an electric handheld mixer.
Wonderful!! 😁 I’m so glad!
Can’t wait to make this next and to see your how to use it video! I also liked how you sped up the prep to music!
Thanks! 😊
Definitely a nice twist for ugly chicken and I love it when you do meals ❤️ thx
I'm talking to the video...use your hands! Best tools in the kitchen!😊
Can't wait to watch you use this!
Thanks for the tip about your pantry. Our store was short on all spices for the longest time!
I got bone in thighs and legs at Sam's for 1.08 yesterday, canned them this morning. Boneless was like 2.20. Still the cheapest I've seen in awhile. Need to make this one!

Thank you so much! I am still using my shipping container and it is working out beautifully! 😊 I will have to do a follow up pantry video.
I agree about the Rada knife sharpener….I LOVE mine! I have quite a collection of the Rada knives and love them too. Thanks for another yummy canning recipe! Sure wish I could find chicken on sale so I could get busy with these creations😋😋😋

Another yummy one
Thank you! 😊
Just finished taking my canned chicken Marsala out of the canner. Thank you!!!
Yw! 😊
You a very sweet lady. You explain things very well😊❤
Thank you! 😊
This smelled amazing just mixing up the raw chicken with spices while the poblanos roasted and added to the house smells !
Wonderful! Happy canning!
I just want to let you know that I absolutely love my Rada Knives I ordered from you. I will definitely be ordering more in the future.
Wonderful! I’m so glad! 😊
Love your kitchen too!!

You have been making some delicious meals. Looks great. Thanks for sharing the info about the oregano. I had no idea.
You are so welcome! 😊
Jeni, your chicken looks SO good!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Thanks! 😊
That looks so good! I wonder how it would turn out using beef?
It would be great with beef! 😊
I never can find Mexican oregano, thanks for letting us know where to find it!

Wow!!! Full of flavor!!!
I canned this two weeks ago minus the peppers cuz I didn’t have any but it doesn’t matter - just made some tacos for lunch and soooo good. Thank you Jeni for this recipe.
Fantastic! You are so welcome! 😊
I did the raw pack with your green enchilada sauce with beef and chicken. It turned out awesome. I will definitely be doing the chicken taco meat.
Awesome!! 😊
Looks yummy❤
This looks SO delicious... I LOVE tacos. Yummy yum yum
Thanks! 😊
Jeni I've had others post that they've had problems with the Pur canning seals, buckling. I know that you've canned with them, any problems?
I haven’t had any problems with buckling. I had one seal pop on my shelf, I found it yesterday and checked the rest. It was a white compound pur lid. Other than that, I haven’t had any problem making and I have used several boxes of them. 😊
Making this asap!
Jeni, did you listen to the music you played in your video as a teen growing up? And, who is the artist or artists? Your canning looks scrumptious!! ❣️♥️🙏🏼♥️❣️
Thank you! No, the music is new, created for TH-cam. 😊
Looks and sounds incredible! I’ve got a lot of pork in my freezer. Ya think I could use same spice recipe using pork roast chunks.
Absolutely! 😊
Why add the water?
This looks amazing and im going to do this!!💖
Great video, thanks!
Yw! 😊
Those look so good!!! I'm definitely gonna be adding this to my pantry!! Thank you!
You are so welcome! 😊
Looks great! Adding to my to can list!! Thank you 😊
So if you had siphoning, are jars still good to place on shelf or use immediately? I am new to canning...thanks
They are still safe to put on the shelf. They sealed fine. If your siphoning leaves you with a lot less liquid and the meat and veg are way above the liquid line, then use immediately. 😊

Yum Miss Jeni! I can't wait to try this recipe. I just canned up your asian meal starter yesterday. So excited to try it out!😊
Wonderful! Let me know what you think! 😊
Thank you for sharing
Yw! 😊
Looks good
Ty! 😊
This looks so good.
That looks yumm
Thanks! 😊
I bought Pur pint jars. The jars were good to go. The lids had about 50% failure. I had to reprocess with Ball lids.
Did you use the lids that came with them? White compound? The boxes lids are better. 😊
I used the lids that came on the jars, white compound
@@janetbednarski3517 those aren’t great, but the ones with red compound are. 😊
Well then. I don't really care for chix breasticles and you made them look incredibly delicious even before they went into the canner. Thank you!
Thanks! 😊
Nice demonstration. With the chicken seasoned up like your did, it must be good. What do you use this chicken for primarily??? Thanks for the video.
Thanks! Taquitos, flautas, tacos, taco salad, rice bowls, quesadillas......Nachos
On the list to do !!! Just looks to good! Are you having luck 🍀 with the pyr lids??? Love your channel
I have had great luck with Pur lids! 😊 I've been trying to remember to show the sealed product.
I don’t know what you have available in your area. Just sub in what you have that you like. 😊
Yum!
Oh my goodness! I can't wait for my canner to be replaced! Could you use hatch chilis?
You sure can! 😊
It looks good! But do we not wash and clean our chicken now before use? But I will try this recipe.
I used to rinse it, but its not really necessary. 😊
I think I’d use the spices with ground beef for tacos
This would be great for quick lunches and to pack for going camping. Kids love taco! I make my own taco seasoning and jar it up. About how much of it would I use in place of mix of spices you put in? Basically my taco seasoning has the same as what you use, including the Mexican oregano. Thanks!
It would be 11 1/2 to 12 tablespoons of taco seasoning for 14 lbs of chicken. 😊
This looks good. A must for my pantry. How do you charge the peppers with a electric stove.
You. put them right on the heating element! 😊
Yum
Are Plablano peppers really spicier or hot? This looks fantastic! Thanks! Pam in South Carolina 😊
No heat in the poblano pepper just really good flavor! 😊
Did you still leave 1 1/2 head space after adding the water? another great meal! Thanks
Yes and I still did get a little siphoning! 😩
I have frozen poblano peppers, my question is how do I use them in this recipe?
You use the the same as fresh roasted. Just defrost them first.
Did you make a recipe with this chicken taco pressured canned jar? Looking for it. Thanks.
Its been so long I don't remember. I try to put them all in a play list called cracking open a jar.
Do you have a beef taco recipe? maybe with something better than ground beef ... lol
my family likes tacos ... me ... not so much
I do!

This looks soooo good!! Also, was wondering do you have any canning recipes that use blackening seasoning? I love "blackened chicken" at restaraunts.
Thank you! I don't use a lot of blackening seasoning, I like it, I just never think about it. I will have to put it on my "to do" list. 😊
@@Jeni_Gough That would be awesome! Thank you!
looks delicious! but is this approved recipe ? is so where and what page in the book ?
@@Jeni_Gough thank you. I knew raw chicken was approved. looks yummy
Sooo my area is completely out of Pur lids and jars; I don’t need them but was hoping to buy a case of quarts or pints just to try.
Hopefully soon they will be restocked! 😊
They have changed the headspace for chicken to one and a quarter inches.. This was done very recently. Just an FYI.
Yes, I know. I have talked about this in my videos.
Rub-A-Dub in the hot tub!
I have a question? I have been using my Pur jars and lids with my steamer canner. I have had fallers with both the white lids and red compound lids. I have noticed they have worked good for you when you pressure can. Thank you 😊
I have no experience with a steam canner. I do have good luck with water bath and pressure canning with them. 😊
Also, hurry and open one of these, like right now!
😬
How much chicken did you say you needed?
14 lbs. the recipe is in the description box. 😊
Thank you. I was a little tired last night and didn’t see it. Sorry
@@judyblaise1639 no worries 😊
Suggestion cut veggies ahead of time. I love spending time with you but don't always have time.
Sometimes I do, but the other half of the subscribers prefer to see the cutting. So I try to do do some that way and some quicker. 😊
R the peppers hot
No
Your link to purchasing is dead.
which link??
This time I don't have to add this to my list. I just did 5 jars
Awesome!! 😍
Yum !
