Hey Andy: The neighbor across the street from my mom had one just like your BTD-II. Used it to haul firewood from his farm in western WI to his house in eastern WI. I come home one day and the truck was sitting in his driveway with a full load of wood and about a 10° starboard list. He had limped home with a full load of wood and a broken passenger side frame rail. I walked over and asked what happened. He says they got most of the way home when the frame broke and, knowing that I can weld, asked if I could help. I says "sure." Long story short, I cobbled a frame rail together out of some 2 x 4 inch channel I had laying around, he unloaded the truck and made another wood run a couple weeks later. The next time I saw the truck, it was sitting in his driveway with another full load of wood and about a 10° port list. 30-odd year old truck, frame cancer... he threw in the towel. But it was a damn good truck while it lasted!
I love your stories because not only do you have good stories, but you're a good story teller... I'd love to see you do an adult version of your channel, just to hear what you really talk like. Especially while you're working 😂
Now that you live in Michigan You can get a non expiring registration for your new dump truck. You just need an authentic Michigan license plate that is stickered for the same year as you truck ($15 ebay), and then fill out some forms and send a copy of the title, plate, proof of insurance and paperwork with I believe a $35 fee. You mail it all to a office in Lansing, and in a few weeks you have a non expiring registration. There are some stipulations that they require you to adhere to, but when you actually go and read the law, it is a lot broader that the SOS would lead you to believe.
Ok,1st lesson is beware of tig ol biddy Debbie... 2nd lesson is to tell insurance ripof, err company that any old truck is just a project truck and doesn't run... 3rd lesson is to run out and buy up old trucks that remind me of one of my old trucks.. I think got it all down pat.. Thanks Andy!!!
It was much later after the 60s (more like 1981), VINs went to the now standard 17 characters. I got a few older vehicles with shorter VIN numbers. You should see how short they were in the 20s & 30s. See, now we all learned something.
292 is an awesome little 6 banger. 165 gross HP and 280 lb/ft of torque. MPG is lousy compared to a 250, but they'll pull like crazy. Love those straight 6 engines.
I have antique cars insured through Haggerty 3 of them now, a while back I had to insure one of them through a different company because Haggerty wouldn't let my 16 year old son drive it. Until he was like 24 or 21 idk. Anyways when he was old enough I added the 3rd car to my Haggerty policy. My premium went up $8.00 same coverage as my other cars for just 8 bucks
Thank you so much for this great video Andy, i've learned so many new things. I mean what a crazy story. Ohh wait, i didn't learn crap. Cool truck tho.
i call nationwide also to insure my 76 f350 and the lady said theres not enough numbers lol i said its pre vin standardizing ask an old fella in the office about it
🍻✌🤝 love it bro 💪💪stay real Andy ✌peace from an ex volunteer firefighter in New Zealand 🇳🇿 cheers 🍻 to You and Mumzy from Me and Mumzy stay happy team.
Found something for you Andy, probably not interested because it's down here around Dundee, Michigan area. It's an old John Deere bulldozer like similar to the one you had but it's a John Deere
I have a C-60 but it has a 366 in her. I don't think I could get 5 mpg going down the mountain with a strong wind pushing haha. I have hauled 500 bushel of corn with her and I bet if the gas gage worked I would be able to watch it drop. 😂
Do you have a FB page? I was following a page that used your image but it didn't have any content other than some BS cooking videos. Anyway love your story but most of it is delivered and IMO that makes it have the influence that it does. Well done!
@@andyslittlehomestead6705I do remember the taco cooking video though. Do you get better revenue from TH-cam or faceplant? Asking so I know which to watch first
My 2 64 1 ton Fords and my 65 C20 only run me 30 a month to insure and 17.50 each a year to tag they're antiques and my insurance company told me i don't drive them more than 500 miles a year it was a statement they made not a question
Basically previous generation truck as "The Big Fella" my '69 GMC C5500 5-speed transmission 2-speed rear end 305 V6 no power steering no dual master cylinder no power brakes factory radio delete no chrome and no ac. It's a man's truck
Andy you know good and damn well that Big Ti77ie Debbie is watching this video?!?! Too funny!🇺🇸🙏

That was the group. Run by scammers and has never been affiliated with me. My page is Andy's Little Homestead, the only one that has 720k followers.

I knew where the Bible verse was going to be going with the title and being in Song of Solomon🤣
Ottway… not many people know about that place
No, your honor. I cannot confirm or deny actions I did not witness.
This is why you only tell old stories... not ones that happened last year.
Pretty sure thats just liability insurance. They call them collector plates here.

For a second I thought you meant you'd have video of the actual Debbie running up soon...sigh...
