It’s still running good with the air filter. In the winter I get about 45mpg city, 40 mpg or less on freeway going 70mph. About 50 mpg In summer this is for city and fwy driving.
@@ajpalomer3444 the thing you have to be careful for is after you clean it and re-oil the oil filter. You don’t want to put too much oil on because it can ruin the mass airflow sensor. Most people tend to put too much oil when they clean it. which can cause problems. Just good to be mindful of that. I probably won’t clean mine for another 20,000 miles.
I don’t like does filters, it uses oil to trap dust. However, there is a lot that can go wrong with it if that oil goes in to the mass air flow sensor, throttle buddy and more. Just buy an OEM filter and vacuum it every 5k oil change. Replace it every 50k. Simple is better.
Scotty Kilmer doesn’t recommend these filters, because you spray them with a little oil. The oil can get into the air system and foul up some sensitive parts that trigger other problems. I wouldn’t use this personally.
From what I understand the problem is people put way too much oil in it when they clean and re-oil them. I’ll let you know if anything fouls up. But yes, I love Scotty and he usually gives great Sound advice.
Have you considered cleaning your throttle body and mass air flow sensors--easy jobs, and could actually improve your engine's performance.
Update please. Do you still have it in your Prius and How’s your mpg now?

Thank for the info. I’m going to order a K&N for my ct200.

I am using it for speed! But yeah if you over oil it then damage can happen. I don’t plan to oil mine more. Just vacuum it.
I agree they are terrible filters and end up damaging engines by "dusting" them ask me how I know 😅
