Being a fashion guru I can think of nothing more beautiful than an overcoat or pea coat over a classic suit. Simple, refined and gorgeous.
There are so many fashion guide/whatever youtubers that I've seen but after skimming through a bunch of yours you might be one of my faves. You're very bubbly and fun without coming off as a tryhard. Good job! Imma buy a coat now, dgaf if it's summer.
I own both, overcoats and a peacoat and I can definitely say the peacoat is much warmer than the overcoats...its heavier and thicker fabric than the overcoat... If its really cold I go for the peacoat.
no no, that's the point of my comment. I find peacoats to be much thicker and heavier than overcoats hence why they are warmer...

I cringe at businessman who try to keep warm during NYC winters. I've never seen one warm enough.

Lovely video. Instead of a peacoat this Winter I went with a wool bomber jacket in navy colour. I love peacoats but Im not sure I have the height to pull them off 🤔 Most are really long.
These Topman wool trousers however look awesome 😀
The problem with the peacoat and the suit is that the peacoat is cut too tight and is made to be worn over a sweater at most. Regulation peacoat can easily cover a suit jacket though.

What about the vents? Should I get a peacoat with single, double or no vent?
Some comments ... If you wear suits in addition to an overcoat you need a trenchcoat (for rainy wet weather but not cold enough for snow) . Most guys I know prefer black peacoats not navy. Should try on peacoat with thick turtleneck sweater for fitting.

Buy a thin overcoat. You could also go for a trench coat.
I bought an overcoat that's a bit too short for me on the arms (shoulders are perfect). Is there a way to elongate the arms ?

Hey Ashley, I am 5ft 9 guy with a tan skin color. I want to get an overcoat, but I feel it will make me even shorter as it will not elongate my legs. So do you recommend this type of coat to me? Also if I do get this coat, what color is best for my skin tone?

Hi, why not the camel colour for your first overcoat? I mean I already have so much navy stuff underneath (often). Why also make the overcoat navy, even if it's the first?
whats with the tie bar on a three piece suit? you are only meant to have a single method of holding in place. Other than that it was a really good video
What about color army green for overcoat? I think it is a color as well as camel that can go with almost anything :)

Can you wear a pocket square with an overcoat? One overcoat I bought last winter, came with a pocket square and I just used it with my blazers, but could you wear it with an overcoat?

I've had a duffle coat for awhile, but it's wearing out and the toggles have fallen off. Maybe it's time to grab a pea coat, especially since the prices are beginning to drop.
Any advice on where I can get a nice fitted pea coat? (I want to avoid boxy, especially since I'm only 5'7").

Where can I buy quality overcoats that are below the knee in length? I have asked numerous reddit pages and searched dozen of fashion webpages yet to find an overcoat that is below the knee, in Business style black wool etc.

llIH go thrift shopping. I literally just found a $2000 overcoat for $15. I found a $300 pecoat for $25.

consider a classic green or navy blue loden from Austria (or Germany) They are worn long, last for ever and are very flattering with the rear vent. It exists also in dark grey. I have three !

The only thing I would disagree on is the color of a 1st overcoat. I think it should be camel cuz it’s the most versatile. It can be dressed up or down most easily, & it matches everything
A grey overcoat would be the most versatile, because you could wear it with jeans and a sweater or throw it over you white tie ensemble if you were to go to the vienna opera ball for some reason.
How does a Peacoat or overcoat deal with windchill?
Pea coats (80% wool and above) are amazing, they were designed for navy officers who spent their time out in the cold oceans with constant wind chill after all!
There's also a Topcoat!!!! That's the mixture of a Peacoat and Overcoat.
Ashley I am a 45 year old black man who works in law enforcement. I have been a soldier for years and could have cared less about fashion and style. One day I looked into the mirror and realized that I am done with looking like I'm always ready to fight a war. Now that I am in my transformation (I've recently lost 27 lbs) stage, I have been using your videos to learn how to upgrade my fashionable weapons. Although I don't get to wear suits and dress shoes in my line of work, I do love the look. I want to ask you, should I buy less formal fashion? My money is tight (remember I am in law enforcement and local government at that). Also, I go to Pintrest for fashion ideas after viewing your videos. How do I find the clothes from Pintrest? no love for the duffel coat? i sometimes see guys here wearing a duffel coat over a suit. usually these are as long as an overcoat, and in a dark color. charcoal, black or navy with black subdued toggles.

Sorry but I disagree. Just bought my first overcoat which has a Burgundy (deep dark red) colour and has a lot of accesoires (epaulettes, belt, cuffs) and it's double breasted. It looks stunning and because it's well cut (it's from Burberry) it doesn't look wrong if I unbutton it.
If I were taking those trousers to the office, I would be itching all day.
The AC would be switched to 25 or 26 degrees celcius. It would be unbearable. It's always women turning the AC up.
I am reaching the conclusion that, summer or winter, I need to wear the same except for a full length overcoat during winter.
There are Peacots and peacoats around. Better find a US navy copy classic one and not some ersatz version.

OK, your video accidentally came up after another and I will give you constructive critiscm. The first few minutes thought was a child station then saw you serious and gave good insight but what's up with you and Hilfiger? You need to offer more options then same shoes and same shirts. You have to remember most people watching a video like this are pretty clueless but have an idea what they want. Anyway, I like you, and will subscribe.
