I've been kicking my depression's butt, and my style has actually shown that lately. I know you guys probably don't care about my thoughts when I saw this video, but I wanted to share anyway. 1. For casual shoes, I have my canvas shoes, my casual boots, but I'm also getting some "huarache" style shoes for my summer wardrobe. They seem to be coming back in style, they are part of my cultural heritage. 2. Don't be afraid to try different sunglasses or glasses while shopping. If your stylish friend says you look dumb with a particular pair, don't buy them! 3. If you want a vintage looking tie, look at your thrift stores. Yes, mostly they'll be trashy polyester ties, but sometimes you find really nice ties. Also, buy ties for your build. I'm a larger guy, so skinnier ties won't fit my body type. Wear a buttoned shirt when you go looking for ties at a thrift store and try them on. If you're at a place like Men's Wearhouse, Jos. A Bank, or somewhere like JC Penny or Khols, don't be afraid to try matching ties with shirts if you're looking at buying some of both. Much better to do it at the store and know you have a few combinations than getting home and realize that you only have 1 tie you can wear with a shirt, or vice versa. 4. My mom bought a newer sewing machine, and I asked for her older one. I learned to sew and alter clothes (simple stuff, I'll still take my suit to the tailor), and now I can hem my pants, bring in my flannel shirts and a couple of my sweaters (I lost 24 lbs in the last 3 months). Sewing is an amazing skill to have, and if you can save time and money with simple stuff if you just put in a little effort. 5. I'm gonna go check out the "buying a suit" video, but what I've learned from shopping on a budget from off the rack, is to find a good tailor. I have 3 suits now; black, gray, and navy. I think I have my bases covered with those 3. 6. Belts! If you're dressing up, please make sure your leathers match! (Shoes and Belt.) That was more than I thought I would type. Thanks Antonio, watching your videos these past couple months have helped me want to up my style game, and helped me fight my depression as well!
@@graham2014 my mom taught me when I was younger. Then, a few years ago, i was able to audit a costume construction class that my friend teaches (I work at a University, so that made it easy). I have seen some videos here on TH-cam on how to sew. Before you start trying to alter your clothes, get some cheap clothes from the thrift store and try on that first. I am also a reenactor, and plenty of people in my group sew, they've helped me get better over time.

Hey seriously good luck! I was feeling bloaty about a year ago, i'd already had to buy new suits some years back and even on those, the waistband on 36" trousers was being forced to roll over. I bought a set of scales (bluetooth with an app because... you need an app for scales right?!) and I was shocked to find myself at 15.1 stone. For me that was just *wrong* and I set about re-programming my eating to eat smarter choices and better sized portions and most of all, no snacking on junk. A year later of sensible eating and i've lost 2 stone, which for me is a big change. The next problem was nothing fitted so yeah that became expensive with buying new clothes and getting suits and jackets adjusted and taken in. The best part was in a shop, just picking up my "normal" size because in my head that was normal. I tried a suit on and the sales assistant just said immediately "Wow, that's far too big!". It takes a while to get used to closer, better fitting clothing. The funny part is that my wife is now getting very suspicious with my much improved look, many clothes purchases and regained self interest in looking better. Got to keep her on her toes right?

I went out to buy a black tie. "We don't have black ties here" the lady in the store said - but we sell a lot of these. I said 'politely' "I don't want - what you sell a lot of - I want a black tie" So it ended here 😎
V neck and henleys. They are great. They give a more mature look to me and on me better than a crew neck. Also, I have a number of purple items. I love it.
Black cowboy boots are a good choice for shoes as well that don't go out of style. Not to mention a nice black cowboy hat is a great choice( a white/ black straw one for warmer weather )
Damn , I did my shopping today ! Got myself a flannel ( green ) , White denim trousers , a black tee , a white polo with contrasting sleeve and collars and a cameo trouser .
My Dad and I quit sports jackets. They are not as dressy vs being fully suited. Fully suited looks better and more versatile and always look more sharp if the suit fits you and you put it all together.
Those in the miniature looks so nice but I'm my country we have to much of a changing climate so it is hard to dress for a long day of work since it can be 26-27 C and change to 10 or 12 in a couple hours

If you want to get rid of the glare from your lights when you wear glasses, raise the lights higher and tilt them down. The lighting will look better that way anyway and the glare with start to go away. Just through I’d offer tips in my expertise while I watch you share tips in your expertise.

I can’t help but compliment on the awesome sport jacket you’re wearing in this video and I would love to see you comment on where you get your bespoke shirts and jackets nowadays. You used to own your custom clothier but the days of A Tailored Suit are long gone. So where do you get them? I bet other guys from the DDC have that same curiosity.

Hi Antonio, I just subcribed to to your You Tube page after spending a day looking at some of your videos. Very cool and informative. until yesterday I was thought I had a good sense of style but then I realized it never hurts to listen to an expert like yourself when it comes to style. So at the beginning you were talking about casual sneaker wear, I I have a couple pair of New Balance 993s because they're popular sneaker to wear in the DMV area and a pair of Nike tanjuns. Hi Antonio, I just subcribed to to your You Tube page after spending a day looking at some of your videos. Very cool and informative. until yesterday I was thought I had a good sense of style but then I realized it never hurts to listen to an expert like yourself when it comes to style. So at the beginning you were talking about casual sneaker wear, I I have a couple pair of New Balance 993s because they're popular sneaker to wear in the DMV area and a pair of Nike tanjuns. I think they're good casual sneakers for the weekend what do you think?
