    Ableton is a sample mangling beast. Just upgraded to suite. Great series bro, highly entertaining.

    Cool episode. I had always written off Live, but clip launching and Acid type looping have made it into lots of DAWs and apps. This is the grandfather.

    I was one of those users who couldn't wrap my head around the Ableton Live. I had bought 4 and just didn't;t understand what I was looking at. It took me until version 8 to really "get it", but once you get it, it's actually far more simple to use than pretty much any other DAW out there.

    @DyReck Productions. Thank you for making a video about my DAW of choice. Going from Pro Tools 8.0.3 to GarageBand and finally Ableton Live was quite a journey for me.

    I've been on Ableton Live for over 15 years. Prior to Live, I used various DAWs such as Cool Edit and Pro Tools. I can honestly say Ableton is one of the best if not, the best in the game.

    I'm always curious about people's Ableton workflow. Some people do everything in ''arrangement view'' right away. I'm part of the other team, team ''Session view''... eh eh.. lately, I sequence in Renoise. Best of both worlds.

    I used a cracked version years ago, I think 4, but bought the studio version, biggest software purchase I had ever made at $800. Have not regretted it.
    However, if Bitwig had step editing I would probably move from Live. Live needs to modernize. The crash-free aspect of BW and speed of starting projects is really a leap forward.

    Going from Logic to Ableton was a bit of a head melt at first, but now it’s so easy to lay down sketches and get in a creative flow to later bring it into the arranger to finish it. It’s a great workflow.

    I still think Ableton Live is still a confusing DAW after using it for 2-3 months. The learning curve for Ableton Live is huge compared to FL Studio. FL Studio only took a few weeks to feel comfortable using it. No doubt tho Ableton Live is an amazing DAW especially for live use.

    If you're coming from FL Studio to Ableton, the moment you understand that a "clip" is the Ableton version of FL's "patterns," the whole thing clicks into place and makes sense. That's literally all it took for me to be able to grasp how session view works and be able to get at it without a tutorial. But before I understood that, it was totally confusing.

    • @DyReckProductions

    LOL this video script is funny. It wasn't cracked because it was too complicated. I went from Reason and Protools to Ableton. It was by far the best thing I have ever done. Once you understand the workflow it makes perfect sense and you are making beats in less than 2 minutes. They still need to work on the piano roll a bit more, but all the recent updates have addressed some of the short comings that people have complained about over the years. It is a solid DAW and the time-stretch is on par with Akai's time stretch if not better, both are showing signs of aging and need to be updated with more modern features.

    You totally missed the biggest advertising for Ableton, that made it over night famous with ALL the DJs and Club Producer in Germany: The Movie ""Berlin Calling" with the Artist "Paul Kalkbrenner2 who plays a Techno DJ, totally on Drugs that has to check in to a rehab and, in Rehab" he produces his "best Album ever" with Ableton live. This movie was nothing else than a 90 minutes Advertising for Ableton, tarned as a Flik, so that they can finance this with german culture Funds...but "shhh" its just a rumor... ;-)

    By the way you mentioned how affordable Ableton Live was at first... yeah, not anymore ... $599 for Ableton Live and another $$ for Push bringing the cost of entry up to $1000 for both or even $1200 for the full software and hardware. I stopped using Ableton because when going to a difficult time I couldn't afford to get the paid upgrade.

      Dang!..Im not gonna lie Ableton is expensive Lol!

    • @djspair
      @djspair ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but it's worth the money. You don't need to use it with a Push controller. It's compatible with practically every third party midi controller. Standard is a bit cheaper than Suite and there's not a huge difference in features. I just updated from 10 to 11 and it only cost me $125. Not too expensive. Lastly, the software is extremely intutive for any type of producer, remixer, engineers, performers, and even DJs. At the end of the day, use whatever DAW works for you, but I will always be team Ableton.
