If this is how the Sinnoh remakes are gonna be, I REALLY don't want them anymore. I'd rather have no Sinnoh remakes at all than Sinnoh remakes with this level of "quality."
We already know how they treat remakes these days with ORAS and Let's Go- they slap a new coat of paint on the game that you bought 20 years ago for $30 and charge you $60 for it. Personally, I've given up on pokemon after SuMo. It was fun while it lasted, and I'm sure it's still fun for people just getting into the series, but getting older and seeing what _good_ games look like make it impossible to keep accepting mediocrity.
@@Silburific I personally though ORAS was pretty good. Although that might just be because Ruby and Sapphire were the only main-series games I hadn't played through, so I was basically playing an entirely new game. Lets Go was a fucking joke though, I felt like an idiot for buying it after I finished it. I enjoyed SWSH as I was playing it but I'll never go back to it. The more I think about the national dex being cut the more angry I get. Unless there's a massive change I think I'm gonna give up on the franchise too. Really upsetting as pokemon diamond was my first pokemon game and I'd love for it to have a great remake. It really doesn't seem likely though and I'd hate to stick around and see my most nostalgic game get shit on. The latest games I thoroughly enjoyed and still replay to this day are B2W2, but I feel like we'll never get anything that's up to gen 5's quality again. The series really peaked at Unova.
Silburific 17 uhh ORAS got universal praise for being a remake to the point where IGN got memed hard for their comment and rating. Pokémon can definitely pull a Capcom and dish out a gem, but they know they don’t have to. Most video game companies would kill to be in their spot where mediocrity sells more than 10/10 games. That’s business though sadly
The DS had the function to record chatot sounds. I would like seing this being addd back, but more as a text to speech, with crazy restrictions. Or even changing single tracks o the game up, like: "Man Bede theme kinda boppin, but Hop theme trash...Let me put Bede them for every theme."

I’m not spending 90$ to complete the games experience when I could have a vastly superior experience from Hg, Ss, DPP or ORAS and the black and white games
Heck I could spend half that on Digimon Story and get two games with about the same graphical quality but much better story , mons that actually animate and way more content in general.
Basically the only thing TPCi has been doing since 2002. Gen 3? Remove nat dex due to hardware issues, sell 186 mons for more than a PS4. Gen 6? Remove transferring mons, sell it back with Bank (and then triple the price 6 years later). Need to update the game? Sell the DLC for full price and in physical form no less (thank Arceus this shit ended). Paywall, paywall, paywall. I'll be honest here, the national dex should've been promptly killed with gen 3. Way too much room for unethical bullshit The only franchise in all of console and PC gaming with a worse model is FIFA imo, which is worse than Raid business wise
I just don't understand how anyone can defend them rushing a game out and charging $60; and then proceeding to bring in the rest of the game via a expansion pack 6 months later for $30!
There is no more love or dedication in these games. It's become a cash cow that strictly sells itself on nostalgia and brand recognition. There's no way I'm buying a $30 expansion pass for a game that was so lazily developed, that's just encouraging bad business practices

I agree with all your points untill your expansion pass section. The real solution would have been to release the dlc for free as an apology for trying to blatantly lie to the people buying their product, and show that they are making a turn for the company away from the greedy practices recently
I'd be more inclined to buy SwSh if they did that, but the game has already made well over a billion dollars off the casual audience, so why would they be bothered to care about the core community? We aren't the money makers anymore.
@@TheAbsol7448 And the sad part is that the casual audience are the ones who downloaded PkGo and played for a week, then never touched it again. These are not the people they should cater to, I wish Iwata was still in charge bc he would never let this kind of thing happen.

@@TheAbsol7448 I couldn't agree more, I've always felt GF is still on handheld gaming level and can't really handle console level development. There's tons of amateur mistakes data miners have found in SwSh that unnecessarily bloat the game and took up a lot of potential data that could have been used elsewhere.
Ok, now I'm slightly offended. I agree SwSh isn't that bad, but nowhere does the story in SwSh even remotely get close to BW levels. It doesn't even reach RSE levels.
Lex Gaming I agree 100% although I’m kinda weirded out people like the game because I remember me and other online people would get in fight because I said black and white 2 was the best Pokémon game

Before that the game goes out of it's way to keep you away from anything interesting that might happen. A giant Pokemon is rampaging on the next route? What's that you want to battle it? I agree, the game as a whole is still bland. I started a new game and was able to complete the DLC main quest before the 3rd gym. The only interesting thing about that, instead of doing it post game, is having a wider range of Pokemon for your team. Urshifu is cool but not worth $30 and the experience left me uninterested in the Tundra DLC part. I regret buying the game digitally, otherwise I'd return it and get a different game instead.
@@pfistner9542 I also enjoyed it for a bit, enough to do a full play through Sword AND Shield. But it was such a slog to get through the story and the map design is uninspiring. Rockin Rootbeer exactly! I loved playing through Platinum and black and white as well as the others! But I can’t with this. I don’t have the motivation to try to start over.
The day they make a game like Breath of the wild with pokemon is when people will be happy I think. An open-world game where you travel far and wide with your pokemon is what everyone wants. It's a giant leap, but if they trusted players then it would be insane. Like sure you could stumble into a cave and get your shit rocked by a steelix when you have a bulbasaur, but that's a story to tell and then you can come back later with a stronger team and strategize.
Look up Temtem and Kindred Fates. Also look up Pokemon MMO, if you want something relatively close, available right now. My point being, do not expect GF or TPC to do that. They know you want it, but they won't do it because they know they can just earn more money by half-assing more main titles.
Like.... make a "remake" that includes all regions with all the correct Pokemon in said regions? Maybe a game with trainer stats that could allow you to be a different type of trainer each playthrough, like catcher, battler, and breeder? Maybe a shift away from turn based combat and into ATB combat? Perhaps a Pokemon game that doesn't revolve around a nonsensical evil team?
I don't see what was so great about the story... all they did was shoehorn you into just going to the next gym with nothing interesting in between. Like the moment when Leon says: "Pokemon are randomly dynamaxing, we gotta help! except not you, Im the champion so i can deal with this. You just go beat the next pushover of a gym leader". Like thanks for telling me that you're doing cool things Leon, maybe i can do something cool next time? Imagine if they did that in the older games "oh no, team rocket took over silph co and is holding everyone hostage. dont worry about it, your rival will take care of it for you. we wouldnt want the player to be distracted from beating the next gym". Also the fact that the game keep insisting on healing your party all the damn time just kills any sense of tension that they try to build up. It felt like a game with nothing to do but beat the gyms while the older games had small adventures in between the gyms that breaks up the formula a bit. Then when they finally decide to add some content that isnt just about beating the gyms they have the nerve to charge an extra 30$ for it. I'm sorry, but count me out... My favorite things about sword and shield was probably the gym leader desings, the music, and i liked the new pokemon designs. the rest felt either neutral or bad to me
The story was hot garbage. But then I realized I’m not 10, I’m a grown ass adult that shouldn’t expect any driven story from Pokémon, and that put me at peace a little more. @@SpaceCowboyTV I dont know, i feel like they should at least try to match the experience of previous titles. Especially since its the most expensive pokemon game to date. a good strategic player should be rewarded for being able to break the limits of standard gameplay. GF seems to just entirely miss this aspect of good game design. you can't restrict your player to only one path when you leave options open. its something the series has struggled with, yet it's been passable. it just becomes emphasized and blatantly apparent now since it makes literally no sense outside of a desire to restrict the player from alternate self-imposed challenges or styles of play

Pokemon is one the biggest franchises on earth and they fall behind single person dev teams in basic functionality,, even $5 indie RPG maker games on steam have voice overs. I'm not sure if Gamefreak is actually incompetent or just lazy, but this game is NOT worthy of being on a console over a handheld
We just gonna ignore Sun and Moon’s plot then? Unlike Sw/Sh, their cutscene overload actually contributed to telling a good story. Or maybe I just really like Nihilego.
Just came across this video. Probably the most accurate Sword & shield review I've watched. Plus, it's littered with actual comedy which is great! Although there was blatant flaws with the game, I'd be lying if I said it didn't bring me a LOT of joy throughout my first playthrough. Only during my second playthrough did I really look at it from a critical standpoint. And yes, the piss riddled, half baked cake became very apparent. In conclusion, it sorta sucks.
The game is trash. I literally passed the game in 2 days, just getting rare candy and XP share from gigantamax pokemon in the open wild area. The gyms aren't challenging and the game throws pkmn at you. No need to grind for certain ones.
@@Mqstodon I'm saying that in regards to how easy the game makes it so you don't have to grind for xp like in previous titles, you know the ones that were fun. Also with that in mind the game has it so after one pokemon gets experience, all your party gets an experience share, how lame is that? You're actually trying to defend this trash game guy?
@@dartrevas I think most of you are misinterpreting the "grinding" part. When I talk about grinding, I don't mean just killing pkmn to level up. I meant grinding as on the aspect of the reward system. It was fun grinding for rare pokemon and grinding for certain battle items in previous titles. It meant that few people had what you had and you could brag about your achievements, because it actually took time and effort. In the current titles the game just throws pokemon and items at you, no fun at all. I will give you an example. It took me 2 days grinding in soul silver at the safari zone for me to catch larvitar. I could brag about that achievement. You can then take that achievement and make it even more rewarding and difficult by trying to breed a shiny or get a certain nature type, then it will be rarer to get egg moves etc. That's what I mean when I say "grinding".
XxX One That depends on how you like to play. Whether you are intrinsically or extrinsically motivated. Being someone who is extrinsically motivated, I don’t see bragging rights as a good enough reason to spend two days on catching a regular Larvitar. However, this is where your side comes in: People who are intrinsically motivated have fun doing this sorta stuff. And that’s perfectly fine. I can’t consciously push down on the basic nature of someone. So I’ve come to the conclusion that the grinding thing is pretty much different for everyone.
Devon DeLuna New Zapdos looks cool and that’s all that matters to me. Legendaries haven’t felt special in a looooooong time. I’d rather they make the old ones cooler then a bunch more we won’t care about.
Infinite Octopaw well I do agree with the comment above from MagiColorful Moon. Just make them more interesting give us more of a build up to players encounter with the legends. Not just forced save the world bs.
I happy with them in this case because the bird trio are literally the worst legendaries and their new forms are so much better. Doesnt make the game not shit but at least the designs are cool for other forms of pokemon media.
Probably would've picked it up if not for the price. Pokemon has always been around 30 to 40 dollars since it was handheld. I'm not a very big fan, so that price tag was barely worth it already. Fast forward and the price is 20 dollars more with arguably less and/or worse content. Lost my sale national dex or not.
Only reason i ever got it was bc i found it used for $45 which meant i wasn't spending $60 or motivating gf or tpc to keep making stuff like this. No plans on getting the dlc either, they arent getting anything from me
At first, I thought I got an ad for cake or some shit. I looked for the “Skip Ad” button, then the advertisement timer, and then Mario started pissing in the batter. _Then I realized..._
"Mr. Penis Hair" = Exactly what I thought! Also it's a crime that niether Looker, Cynthia OR Red&Green show up. And in a game with so little content they couldn't at least let us go back to the Kalos region for a minimal short postgame quest?
While just playing it’s kinda fun. it’s like watching sword art online where it’s good if you don’t think about it but once you think about what’s going on you feel disgusting
Expectations: A BoTW-size open world filled with every Pokemon in existence and able to visit any town and challenge any gym in any order while the gym leaders pick their teams according to the player's level during their battle. Reality: A badly ported lazily made recycled 3DX game with less content than previous DX games which were half the price.
Maybe have a Pokemon game that takes place before the invention of Pokemon balls. Like a medieval Pokemon or something. Have your Pokemon follow you around. Have some 'stables' to put away your other Pokemon and watch it fill up over time with the Pokemon you collect.
But nobody said that the game was gonna be that. Like literally nobody did? Who said that the game was gonna be open world? Or the gym leaders picking different teams considering the order in which you beat the gyms? Like nobody said that and you just got your hopes up with no evidence, and they told right off the bat that not all pokemon where gonna be in the game.
@@Mqstodon Well the price tag did. The cut of pokemon to imrove on features despite no improvements made and considering it's one of the highest grossing franchisees. For comparison Ultra sun and moon were on the ds and lagged. The models were future proofed for a reason. Yet the tiny ds can host all of the pokemon. So basing it off the older games it costs more and has less content. The selling point of the game was the wild area and how it was supossed to be a massive open world. they failed. In Context of the other switch games, animal crossing, Botw, Mario Odyssey it does not stand against those games either. They promised quality while barley animating the core gameplay mechanics. So considering the only reason to bring it to one of the most powerful consoles currently we expected something better then a ds game because it wasn't going on the ds anymore. Even console games such a pokemon gale, and even revolution did hold up compared to other wii games at the time.
Mal 123 but remember everyone saying “no you’re stupid! Let’s Go isn’t a mainline game! The next mainline games won’t be like this!” and then they were, except even worse lol. I actually semi enjoyed Let’s Go as long as I didn’t think of it as a mainline game lol
I actually liked Bede's story. yeah, his asshole period was pretty cut off, but I like the fact that he got character development and is a much more rounded character than some other ones.
What was bedes story? He was endorsed by the chairman who doesn't remember him. Disqualified because he destroyed an important monument, wanted back in but was then picked up by opal because he wore pink and thats it. Theres no in-between. No development he just hopped from one thing to anothrt.
Me: Hey Game Freak, can I have Infernape, a starter and very popular pokemon due to the fact? GameFreak: Nah we cut it for balancing reasons lol Me: Oh okay-- GameFreak: Hahah sword goes *SHWING*
Idk the expansion pack including some more of the removed pokemon feels to me like real reason why pokemon were cut in the first place. Sure, people will say "oh but the pokemon update is free, you dont need to buy the dlc to transfer them after" But let's be real here, from a greedy/manipulation stand point, if you took a break from this game, and poked your head back in because 200~ are back in, would you really not get the dlc as well at that point, if you're getting back into it? I actually thought they'd do this as soon as the initial announcement of dexit happened, and well... it happened. Still haven't paid 60$, and I'm not paying 90$ anytime soon. I own every other pokemon game (hard copies of each generation) btw, so you can't call me a fake fan.
that's my situation exactly. I'm glad I didn't get SWSH to begin with and frankly... *it ain't worth 60 bucks with expansion let alone 90* I'll stick to my fanmade projects and Chunsoft made games; support the people who actually deserve the support
I wish they didn't need a gimmick every game. Megas, z-moves, Alolan forms, dmax, gmax, and galarain forms. I would be happy to have them just retcon everything but megas if they just commit to add new ones and maybe taking away some old mega to prevent power creep. Pokemon Camp was a good evolution of Pokemon Amie and pokemon refresh. I wish they would do a game with no over arching battle gimmick. Like Gen 3-5. (The golden age imo) Gen 6 and 7 where pretty good. Gen 8 is rock bottom so far.
Good to see that Gen 5 is being recognized more... Generation 5 aka Black and White Are the best pokemon games in the series and I still stand by that to this day. There is never going to be another game like generation 5, maybe the remakes but I want them to have there classic 2D sprite's but BETTER And different ♥️ ...if they do 3D well... I will be disappointed.
I actually like some of these “gimmicks” like regional variations and mega evolutions. But most of them sucked. They fact they ditched megas for inflation is just so stupid, and they’re basically the same thing, so apologists can’t make a bunch of excuses. But that’s nothing compared to the extreme laziness that is Z Moves. They’re literally just different versions of existing moves, and extremely lazy. I love Gen 5 getting some attention, reminds me when Pokémon was actually good, now genwunners and game freak are responsible for the series downfall.
The only reason I love Sordward and Shielbert is because they are hilariously bad. And Sordward’s hair is PRICELESS. I wish they were the leaders of the evil team so when they are all marching away in large groups you could see all their sword hair flopping around everywhere 😂
I got this game barely when quarantine began. One of my friends told me I would hate it but I figured give it a change. At first I honestly loved the game. That lasted about 3 hours. There was so much potential but literally this game had no depth and felt so 2 dimensional. It just felt like you were progressing on a number line, going from step 1 to 2, to 3 and so forth. At least the other games had other features or "mini games" you could do to take a break from the main story. The ones offered in this game were so gimmicky.
Sounds like Sun and Moon. Go to ghe next thing marked on the Rotom map, get your pokemon healed by a side character, tackle the next obstacle, then proceed to the next thing on your Rotom map. For USUM, thrown in the rotoloto gimmick that you wish you could turn off but can’t.
I don't blame you guys. Gamefreak and TPC expect people to pay 131-133 bucks for the full experience. Vote with your wallet and spend your money on something else
@@TSPH1992 I have put my trust in gamefreak for years. (big mistake lol) I bought SwSh and even the DLC as soon as I could order it. But this is the time where I decided to not take shit anymore. If the DLC is shit, this might actually be my last pokemon game. At least until they actually try to innovate and we get a Dragon Quest XI level quality pokemon RPG. But lets be real. Its never going to happen
I loved the amazing world to explore, so many amazing creatures to find, the side quests and lore were all super fun and interesting to read/complete. Even though the main story was not amazing, the other parts of the game really made up for it. Xenoblade Chronicles X was an underrated masterpiece.
my biggest issue with the national dex is why they cut it. They directly stated they were making new models and animations for all of the pokemon that were going to be in the game. Nearly 1000 models to fully animate is a lot to ask for, so if more expressive pokemon that looked better was the trade for that, I was fine with not having the national dex. The problem came with the reveal trailer, where we saw (big surprise) that the models were just ported from the 3DS, and only a handful of moves were getting new animations. It felt like a massive middle finger to me, and it was clear that Gamefreak did it because of time constraints. Modeling is hard, but if you're going to promise us something, you'd damn well better deliver on it.
My issue with the story is that, Say what you will with previous gen like Ultra Moon/Sun but there was a grand story going and YOU were involved. But in SW/SH it's like "WHOOOOAAAA AWESOME THING GOING ON HERE you should get back to your gym challenges, we'll handle it from here :3" it's like if you were playing Pokemon Gold/Silver and you heard Team Rocket is cutting off the tails from Slowpokes and instead of you going down to stop them, someone just tells you they'll handle it instead. The pokemon Stories are formulaic, but SW/SH breaks that form in all the wrong ways. And Rose just felt so half-baked as the antag, "WE NEED TO DO THE THING NOW LEON" "Okay but lemme do this thing first which will take only one more" "NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW" the whole gigamax threat was hardly there as even during the darkest day as it was still bright and cheery. The small post quest we got, the two brothers felt like SLIGHTLY more compelling villains than Rose ever did, celebrities that abuse their status to get what they want while trying to preserve their family image? Sounds great!
yea honestly? i guess its because it held my attention enough (which is more than i can say for usum) but after i beat it i dont really have any incentive to touch it ever again
I hate when people try to defend the DLC as "well at least they didn't charge you 60." Don't forget the base game was $60 + DLC = $90. Buying two separate games at $40 during 3Ds era was only $80. You're still paying more for less.
Thank you for this. Some common sense for once. I really hate that too. The DLC isn’t even worth that much money. Hell, The Sims expansion packs were less than money than SW/SH’s DLC.
What I really disliked was the type imbalances and leader pokemon choices. I remember fighting the gym leaders again after finishing the game and 2 of them had the same pokemon (torkoal, for fire and dragon guys I think) who wasn't even the right type for one of them. That stuff happened a lot in the first games when there weren't many pokemon, but there is no excuse now in my opinion. Also the fact that basically no one except hop has 6 pokemon, it felt pretty lackluster to fight the last gym leader who didn't have a full team...
20:20 The devil is right. After all, this is a very similar situation with battlefront (minus the loot boxes but you could argue the expansion pass is like a lootbox just less random). I haven't played the DLC, but it won't have a lot. How do I know? Look at literally all of GameFreaks previous DLC in it's entire history. Yes all of it. All of it has been either awful (by community) or very very quick. Plus the octo expansion was great! But that's Nintendo, not gamefreak. Nintendo has no say in how the games are made. That's WHY Pokemon sucks now. Previously Iwata was the bridge between the two. Pokemon is trash now, I've accepted this. I think you should too, I couldn't bear to see you get excited for the next Pokemon game only to be hurt. Final thought: 23:35 Anything can be justified as "worth the money" after you've thrown half of the months rent at it. No game in the world is worth $90 and still be so lackluster and flawed.
Like I've said, I would like to like pokemon. But there's three giant problems 1°: I have quality standars. Money is not easy to get so videogames must be worth my money. 2°: I know exactly why the first 5 gens of pokemon are good games overall, and why now aren't. 3°: I do not have nostalgia for pokemon because I was too young to grew with the original 150.
Even though your comparison with lootboxes is heavily lacking (come one, loot boxes and content updates are not even remotely the same), you are right with the rest you said
@@einherjar4902 idk about that, after all we dont know which 100 pokemon will be reappearing, and besides, i was focused more on the full game being locked behind a paywall within the game itself just to make it feel whole. Not so much that the whole game itself is essentially lootbox only, i was focused more into the random 100 and the fact this is clearly a money grab when they could easily make it free and the game would be much better for it (and it would ve been better for consumers). I understand the confusion, i only wanted to articulate those two points, but didnt want my comment to be any longer than it already was.
I'm not gonna lie I dislike the sword and shield competitive and wild area after a while because it's the same repetitive thing every time. ( Competitive is the same thing because everyone uses the same shit )
Everybody hates Landorus a lot because it has more than 40% popularity in singles. Clefable is even worse, and not even mention Incineroar and Togekiss in VGC.
In the state that the gaming industry is in with dlc what could go wrong did go wrong. I bought PK shield to just see if maybe it might be an alright game but it looked nowhere near as beautiful as Zelda botw or other Nintendo titles. Then we get dlc and I just don't know anymore. I'm just butt hurt that this his how my first experience with a PK game turned out.
Of course this game didn't look as beautiful as Zelda BOTW or other Nintendo games! Those games were designed with the Switch in mind and show the advancements! This game looks like a 3DS game! >.
Not gonna lie, I got 300+ hours on sword, and I can confirm that the game is kinda boring, and most of my hours were from Pokédex completion and shiny hunting, because I was bored as hell
@@Dr_Heavy My opinion is "Tolerable AS LONG AS WE GET SOMETHING to justify the sacrifice". We got literally nothing so it's just a cheap excuse to get extra dollars.
Fernando Vasquez what I meant is that the map would have to be about twice as big just to have every single Pokémon in it, however I still hate the straight line routes
Just treat it as you would other generations: make version exclusive pokemon. Split four hundred or so pokemon into each game. However, I do agree that eventually a line has to be drawn. What do you want more: new pokemon or the same old ones? It’s not like we’re back in gen iv where we only had some three hundred pokemon to chase after.
The expansion pass doesn't bring back all the mons only 200. So it pretty much gonna be a whole 60 dollars to get all the mons if they go that route. Might as well give a whole new game at this point lol.
What, no mention of the fact that the computer allies in raid battles are completely useless and I've lost raid battles because the pokemon just kills my allies, and kicks me out even though I'm doing fine? Raid battles are garbage, especially offline ones.
Just cause the DLC "fixes issues" doesn't mean the game is suddenly better. Those fixes should have been in the base game, with the DLC building on top of that. One of the biggest problems still remains even with the DLC, the garbage animations, which I feel are underplayed here quite a lot.
Same dude who said Pokémon Sun, Moon, and the Ultra versions sucked and ULTRA sucked. Even though they are the 3D games with the most content smh Edit: typo
I believe the true reason why the national dex was cut was because of time. Game Freak can’t responsibly postpone the game because of all the media surrounding the game, such as the anime and card game. Due to the media circle that is Pokémon, this was bound to happen.

They're gonna be bad. Accept your fate..
If sinnoh is like this USUM are my final frontier

The day they make a game like Breath of the wild with pokemon is when people will be happy I think. An open-world game where you travel far and wide with your pokemon is what everyone wants. It's a giant leap, but if they trusted players then it would be insane. Like sure you could stumble into a cave and get your shit rocked by a steelix when you have a bulbasaur, but that's a story to tell and then you can come back later with a stronger team and strategize.
they'll forget to let them walk behind you in that hypothetical game as well lmao
Pokemon Clear Crystal! It’s a Rom hack of og crystal which lets you take on the 16 gyms in any order you want.
All they gotta do is a skyrim or breath of the wild style game with difficulty settings and a good story and characters and the shit would be epic
If I want story I play Three Houses.
Pokémon is fully capable of making amazing stories as shown in their movies and manga, but sadly gamefreak is uh...openly stubborn, to put it lightly.
@@SpaceCowboyTV I dont know, i feel like they should at least try to match the experience of previous titles. Especially since its the most expensive pokemon game to date.
Im not even asking for an amazing and deep story in pokemon either. Just something to do outside defeating gyms which all pokemon games that i have played previously provides (ruby, emerald, fire red, pearl)
@@flysoup3607 i would agree if they didnt heal you fully way more than you actually planed on going to pokemon centers. I really didnt need a full heal in between every single grunt that i oneshot without taking any damage at the elevator gauntlet for instance. Its like the game is afraid to have any challenge of attrition at all and instead of them having tastefull healing locations they just spam you with heals over and over making it feel like its not supposed to be a challenge at all. Not to mention that you already can circumvent going to the center by buyibg potions and revives etc.
It doesnt feel like the game trusts the player at all
@@gentlecat7735 GF really needs to get away from their mentality of not allowing the player to fail. YES players fail sometimes. most people don't mind losing at least a few times. in fact hard games are often respected due to their difficulty. and no, not even kids will just give up. in fact they're more likely to lose interest due to a *lack* of difficulty

@@ThisCatIsBored There are many different ways in which people are abused by other people, and many different degrees of that abuse. I'm obviously not suggesting that all abuse is equivalent to domestic abuse, but that doesn't mean that the gaming industry isn't abusing it's customers.

a good strategic player should be rewarded for being able to break the limits of standard gameplay.

I wouldn’t say older games were fun because you had to grind. Those were literally THE MOST BORING PART. What are you on?

That depends on how you like to play. Whether you are intrinsically or extrinsically motivated.

People who are intrinsically motivated have fun doing this sorta stuff.

• Like the gyms too much
• like you said found nothing to do post game.

I got excited for a pokemon game once. then they said they were cutting out pokemon. Then everything just went downhill from there.
I was excited until I saw Let's Go. At that moment I had a bad feeling the mainline games weren't going to be any better
I also HIGHLY recommend any Shin Megami Tensei game on 3DS. Any entry of that series on the 3DS makes Pokémon look like a complete joke of a game.
Me: Hey Game Freak, can I have Infernape, a starter and very popular pokemon due to the fact?
GameFreak: Nah we cut it for balancing reasons lol
Me: Oh okay--
GameFreak: Hahah sword goes *SHWING*
Or probably, ''haha fire fighter goes burnnning burns with her soccer feet''.
Idk the expansion pack including some more of the removed pokemon feels to me like real reason why pokemon were cut in the first place.
Sure, people will say "oh but the pokemon update is free, you dont need to buy the dlc to transfer them after"
But let's be real here, from a greedy/manipulation stand point, if you took a break from this game, and poked your head back in because 200~ are back in, would you really not get the dlc as well at that point, if you're getting back into it?
I actually thought they'd do this as soon as the initial announcement of dexit happened, and well... it happened. Still haven't paid 60$, and I'm not paying 90$ anytime soon. I own every other pokemon game (hard copies of each generation) btw, so you can't call me a fake fan.
that's my situation exactly. I'm glad I didn't get SWSH to begin with and frankly... *it ain't worth 60 bucks with expansion let alone 90*
I'll stick to my fanmade projects and Chunsoft made games; support the people who actually deserve the support
(The golden age imo)
Gen 6 and 7 where pretty good.
Yeah this game was garbage.
Got it for my little bro and it was a complete waste of munnee
I know. My brother wanted this game and upon seeing it, he never touched
I don't blame you guys.
Gamefreak and TPC expect people to pay 131-133 bucks for the full experience.
Vote with your wallet and spend your money on something else
@@TSPH1992 I have put my trust in gamefreak for years. (big mistake lol)
I bought SwSh and even the DLC as soon as I could order it.
But this is the time where I decided to not take shit anymore. If the DLC is shit, this might actually be my last pokemon game.
At least until they actually try to innovate and we get a Dragon Quest XI level quality pokemon RPG. But lets be real. Its never going to happen
@@einherjar4902 not in a million years
I loved the amazing world to explore, so many amazing creatures to find, the side quests and lore were all super fun and interesting to read/complete.
My issue with the story is that,
Say what you will with previous gen like Ultra Moon/Sun but there was a grand story going and YOU were involved.
Yeah, no. I have lost all hope for pokemon. Here's hoping that DLC fixes everything or expect more pokeanger.
dlc is kinda sad, pay half the price of the game for stuff that shoulda been in there. They even found megastons relating to the dlc code
@@piojoaquinlopez8881 Well shit, Typhlosion's dream is dead.
@@gino6872 wait what? Like the Pokemon?
@@piojoaquinlopez8881 Yeah...
It won't fix shit
"Mr. Penis-Hair," I lost it! Haven't bought the game yet, guess I won't plan to.
You went kinda soft with that 7/10 score based on how much you criticized the game. I was expecting a 6 at most.
yea honestly? i guess its because it held my attention enough (which is more than i can say for usum) but after i beat it i dont really have any incentive to touch it ever again
Preach it, mii friend!
PREACH!!!!
Like I've said, I would like to like pokemon. But there's three giant problems
1°: I have quality standars.
I disagree, that analogy was the best I've ever heard.
1:13 oh my god the music gave me the deepest dragon quest IX nostalgia...
Hope you get genuinely happy soon mate ❤️
this is the only comment on this video so far that i've actually liked. thank you
In the state that the gaming industry is in with dlc what could go wrong did go wrong.
This game looks like a 3DS game!
>.
Play Platinum if you want a good PK game
PK Fire is my favorite
Evan R - Mif0rcliEn 3 Or/As and X/Y were decent
@@hystericallover5989 and yet somehow so much better than SwSh
Not gonna lie, I got 300+ hours on sword, and I can confirm that the game is kinda boring, and most of my hours were from Pokédex completion and shiny hunting, because I was bored as hell
Also my opinion on the dex cut: how the hell can they fit 800+ Pokémon in just one game, not to mention all of the legendaries
Evan R - Mif0rcliEn 3 I know, I just do it in small bursts when I’m bored
One of the biggest problems still remains even with the DLC, the garbage animations, which I feel are underplayed here quite a lot.
>sorta sucks
A little modest with your title there, don’tcha think?
Same dude who said Pokémon Sun, Moon, and the Ultra versions sucked and ULTRA sucked. Even though they are the 3D games with the most content smh
Edit: typo
I believe the true reason why the national dex was cut was because of time. Game Freak can’t responsibly postpone the game because of all the media surrounding the game, such as the anime and card game. Due to the media circle that is Pokémon, this was bound to happen.
"story kinda good" aaaaaaaand we're done here
Pokémon Colosseum, a game that came out almost 17 years ago, had better animations than this.
