In my opinion, Galar beats Paldea no questions asked and nothing in it made me hate any of it. The gyms are badass (their music), the world felt alive, the legends actually felt like battles and I did not want realistic styles to the Pokémon or characters. Even the DLC beats this one. Hell, Blueberry Academy is a way better looking school than the one in the base version.

Everyone who thinks this game is somewhat good is objectively wrong. Nintendo managed to deliver less in every aspect of the game for a lot more money and ppl aplaude at this like trained seals asking for fish. They took away hundreds of pkmn which you used to be able to transfer from gen to gen and they resell you the chance to play with some of them in the expansions. They took away the battle tower which became the cornerstone of the post-game, which was unanimously beloved by all and replaced it with tera raids which is the regardest piece of "content" I have seen in my life and feels like a smartphone gatcha game. The game runs like fu***ng trash and looks like an abortion. The open world is full of nothing. And this is coming from the same company that released BOTW a couple of years before that. They removed a billion moves and forced your old mons to have to relearn moves they already knew and had maxed out. They took aaaall of that away and charge more for it and ppl still feel like they have to defend the franchise because god forbid the largest media franchise in the world goes out of business.

With some of the revelations that came out with SMTVV, this game makes a lot more sense, with the endless cycle of Law and Chaos, until that chosen demon decided to go to that hospital.

Bro I hit the point you are at with sword and shield. The 3ds games were when I started seeing the cracks and I had hoped the jump to the switch was going to be the revival and it just never happened. I played S&S and thought is this really where the series is going?? I still check out the trailers but I stoped buying the games. I wait until launch and when I see the latest fall out I just keep on trucking. When one comes out that they genuinely put effort into that is done well I will consider buying it again. In the mean time I’ve actually started really enjoying the TCG

It seems like the ending would have been improved by forcing you to sacrifice yourself for the benefit of everyone else or turning on everyone and taking everyone out to preserve your life. It would give the good ending weight and make the bad ending make more sense. Seems like an obvious fix I'm surprised they didn't make, but I haven't actually played apocalypse yet so I might be talking out of my ass.

I have more fun playing pokemon scarlet than any other pokemon game I’ve played then look on the internet and see that everybody hates it I think the performance got a patch, but also I think there’s just more glitches because the game is so much longer

Glad I quit the franchise after HGSS. Way more fun to emulate RSE on turbo speed than to play the games from Gen 5 onwards. I can tell just by looking at them that I would never enjoy them.

i've tried a few times to get into the series with the first game and always dip out cause i just don't get into it so maybe i'll just have to try one of these that looked more appealing

The game is a graphical MESS and holy burrito all the towns are so empty. It feels like horror movie quiet on top of all the buildings I can't explore. Arceus was so much better on every level

S/V just feels so bland and lifeless. Can’t wait for Pokémon Eggs and Toast that’s set in Papua New Guinea with new regional variants based on more random inanimate objects.

one game mechanic that needs to go: badge obeying. What's the point of battling if your pokemon won't listen still after the 1st badge? and the problem being to defeat the bad guys you have to make them stronger, so,people train them.Then guess what? they won't even battle for them,because you have to get the next badge to ''prove'' your skills are ''good enough'' but your way is blocked by your enemies. *giant facepalm*

Speaking of scenarios that stick with you like tape to glue, this reminds me of that one first stratum event where your party is trying to get a coin from under a turtle. Normally pretty funny but otherwise not out of the ordinary. Except I came across this event *after beating the game.* Watching the heroes of Arcadia try and fail not to get bit by a first stratum turtle before Sunny(the local ironically named Necromancer) picked up the turtle and moved it somewhere else was an absolute gut buster. Ps: If you weren't toting my two favorite games in the franchise I would have FOEs on you for that horrible pun in the thumbnail.

While Scarlet and Violet are EXTREMELY under cook in a lot of ways, for me, it was one of the more fun Pokemon games I played in a hot minute (outside of Legends Arceus). I think the story (outside of the Gym one) was pretty good and I thought a lot of the fights felt pretty challenging. I think while it sucks there isn't level scaling, I think its cool that you can go after higher leveled gyms or objectives. The game is super buggy but the game doesn't have anything that would ruin your save file and most of the bugs only happen to a small amount of people. The game still looks like ass though and I think that frame rate and graphic scaling are both just garbage. I really think if this game was given another year of development people would be saying its their favorite, in fact I think it says a lot that people still like this game even though its this much of a buggy mess. It kind of reminds me when Skyrim was new. While it was a huge buggy mess people still found things to enjoy about it. I can't say people are too negative about Scarlet and Violet but do I think people thinking that Pokemon is going to get worse from here is kind of crazy.

I remember my 1st Nexus run. I ran Shogun, Highlander, and Pugilist, front. With Nightseeker, Sovereign backline. The entire point of the party was just get hit and hit back harder. I had a lot of fun adapting them to survive the increasing damage that they had to tank through.

The worst thing of these games is that they are fuckin boring, repetitive and have the slowest battle animations and texts in history. Also your Pokémon is always out of frame in the battle mode for some fkn reason.

I mean apocalypse mode and the dlc is a good reason to new game plus which has the most badass boss in the series, stephen himself.

You take that back about toki, her instant kill pierce move is god tier in random encounters.

I'm at V's last stretch, literally fighting the final superboss, and as a first game, man it was incredible.

Etrian Odyssey V was the one I was around for in the fandom when it was announced and I kept a watch on it the entire time. It added a lot of cool stuff to it in terms of character creation, but the fact it limits your class skills for two full stratums grinds my gears sometimes. Nexus being a compilation title is the reason why it doesn't get talked about a lot. Most people want to make new people interested in the series, which is why the overwhelming amount of options in Nexus and its focus on themes and strata of previous titles is a poor choice to start with. Also, YES! Please heap more love on the Sovereign. It's the most broken class to have appeared in EO3 and Nexus does it great justice. Nexus' classes are just straight up the classes from all the previous games by the way, with some slight changes here and there. So the class options aren't any wider than they are in their origin games. The only difference is the options for subclassing. Now that you know how to build classes in Nexus, you can almost directly port that over to the origin games for those classes.

Fell in love with the series after randomly buying EO IV. I was STUNNED with the amount of uniqueness. I actually never beat nexus. Got stomped by that one sworddude (it's been years) but I had so much fun with those games. Currently going through the EO I to III remasters. GIMME MORE EO!
