I have only watched a few of your videos, but man! You are one smart kid! I gotta hand it to you. You demonstrate a remarkable spirit of intelligence, ingenuity, and reason that really is inspiring and admirable. Great job! Keep it up.
I love how you don't print out the templates and you make your videos fun to watch an inspire other people like me. I have been creating armor and weapons for a while and if I had templates to follow I never would be as good at building as I am now. It makes you think and find your own tricks to do things and make them cool.
That little end speech you did was really cool. I mean, it's true, too. You definitely are your best hardworking self. Jeez, I want this gauntlet! I would totally make it if I had these tools and resources. You are a weapon genius.
I've always wanted to do something like the stuff you do but never went through with it but now that you have posted these tutorials I can start. Thank you
This is honestly very epic, it inspired me to start working on some of my own gauntlets. I've been watching your vids for the longest time and I've gotten so inspired over the years to just make weapons and such out of random stuff I find. Thanks a lot
I see him making DIY helicopters and homemade tanks, as seen in the comment I made in " I'm not dead I just look like it" 😳 realization that we have similar minds.
amazing build, way to go on barreling through with little sleep, being creative is sometimes bad for the health but we have to pull through to make kick ass projects like this. great job!
After years of accepting im different to everyone else around me because i do what i do for creativity.. i finally see a person who does what i do... doesnt have to be perfect, just has to be something.
Dude.... Wise words. I always struggle to get mvp in games, but now, I'll always strive to win the game, and help the team better. I'll play tank from now on. And protect the team when they need help
Oh my. That looks like a diamond brand hammer. "You could not wish for a better blade." On a side note, the welding clamp pliers are actually referred to as "seamers" in the sheet metal industry
Probably one of the coolest things you have ever built. Just a recommendation, maybe you could put some type of spike on the fist or something so if your weapon gets stuck in a zombie or something you could kill them with your fist:)
I just wanted to point out that you can make lose pop rivet joints: Take a strip of steel of a gauge determined by how lose you want the rivet, drill a hole the size of the rivet you are using in the center of it then cut it in half through the hole. Put the two halves around the shank before installing it then just wrench them out after you install the rivet to add a little wiggle room. :-)
I'm actually making my own crusader themed plated armor set. I'm grabbing ideas from you and a few other places here and there. thanks for providing the videos.
Yo Thank You so much for the ending u helped me so hard in school cuz im an addicted gamer now i put my maximum on school and now i have better grades. thanks again
Suggesting that you can use these for hema is dangeorus. A sword would just break your hand because there is pretty much no padding. Hits on the hand allways hurt, even with proper hema gloves.
Nonlethalbychoice I appreciate the encouraging words as well, and I say, I thank you for the videos, regardless of how long it is in between each one! Quality over quantity, I believe you've said yourself.
Hey man, had an idea for your gauntlet there. That plate that you have bolted to the plate on the back of your hand to cover the gap between the fingers and the hand, if you extended it out a little more and instead of making it flat had a point at the end, not only you would have a protective plate (like you have now) but you would also have basically a built in knife. Just make a fist and punch.
I enjoyed the advice as the video ended; almost like an old school episode of GI Joe when they'd do the life lesson before the show was over. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
Impressive... I like your dedication to this channel, I can see how hard you have been working on all of your videos. You are a Genius.... How you come up with these awesome ideas, I very much enjoy your videos Nonlethalbychoice!
I have seen some of your videos lately, and some kinda older videos in the past. and I just wan to say that me personally I love to build stuff, not necessarily weapons, armors and that kinda of stuff. Nut just by watching and hearing your recomendation I can tell you have a ton of experience with "small" mechanical issues, flaws and dessign. particularly speaking about the rivets. many people wouldn´t consider the mobility part until after messing up the first time. keep it up man.
Pretty interesting to see how my views have developed 3 years later. I kinda wanted templates cause I was pretty unconfident about my building skills; but as I am now, I'd rather put my own twists on the things Eli has inspired me to make~!
Zednought, i recently (and i mean really recently) found your videos through a crazyrussianhacker survival weapons video, and i really wanted to say that these videos you make are some of the coolest How To videos I've watched in a long time. you've got my subscription and i cant wait to see where you go from here with your already well established channel.
ZednoughtAlpha yea i found it through the related videos when i was watching a crazy russian hacker video. i figured id give this a try, safe to say im hooked.
About your last comment, the key thing to take home is, you only want to impress yourself, and screw what anybody else thinks of what you have achieved. Your achievement is your own. Further ergo'ing (that's now a word): Ultimately, people only think of their own achievements, and they'll find a way to mentally scale everybody else's down so they stay on top. Just by the way you present your video's here, I can see that 's not the case with you, and that's why you have, and deserve, so many followers.
Those homemade rivets are great, probably the most historically accurate thing (I know you're not going for historical accuracy i just think it's cool) That's a process called peening and it used to be how they kept the grip of a sword attached to the blade, among other things.
I love your videos very much. All of your armor is amazing and I really appreciate your effort to not curse. I just wish you'd post your templates because it would make my knight armor build a hella lot easier but hey, other than that amazing channel
To set your home made rivets you could crush them in the vice rather than hammering. That would be much more accurate and less chance for mucking it up.
Nice, I love the flexibility on this one. My only gripe is the that plates don't seem to provide much protection to the sides of the hand, but I suppose that's the trade-off for good articulation. Perhaps there's a way you could add additional plates that curl from the back of the hand over the sides a bit without hindering thumb and hand mobility too much?
what i would do is make the stuff out of cardstock or something and then fiberglass mold it to make it really light but that would really only be for a costume
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm for future reference in case you have thought of it [[which you probably have making this comment completely useless but ya knooooow]] the design you came up with for the middle knuckle guard doesn't seem... uhhhh, whats the word... Erganomical? idk, but it seems more Awkward than useful. I would suggest you put a plate latching with the outside rivets of the pinky and index fingers that loops over all the knuckles, that way you can utilize it for hand to hand and it will be less likely to catch on fabric and such. just and idea really other than that the build is amazing and functional and i applaud you for your creativity and workmanship on your videos! You've inspired me to do the same to get a footing into the possibility of professional black-smithing, something I've always wanted to do. Keep up the good work as for today you've earned yourself another subscriber.
Love it, mate, but also, if viewers don't have welding clamps (~7:30) they can substitute vice clamps and a couple pieces of scrap wood to simulate the horizontal clamp.. Four years late, but hey!
You know, I've been thinking what it would be like to create extremely fancy, highly decorated and high-quality medieval armor and weapons and then time travel back to the early middle ages.
I respect your choice not to give templates. I went and bought David Guyton's for a guide to make my own though. BTW Your finger design is really good, Cleared up questions that I had with David's version.
I admire your ideology. I’m trying to make a gauntlet for the first time and I gotta say I’m having a hard time figuring out how to spread the design on a flat sheet of paper or metal. because the parts contain both geometric and curvy surface. Idk tho I’ll try to figure it out somehow. Maybe study some paper craft principles or other related stuff
May I suggest a more rounded design? Medieval armor was made to deflect blades through curved rounded designs. The smoother the better honestly when I see these gauntlets I see a broken arm from a sword that got caught
Awesome video man! I totally agree with your creativity point!
You should incorporate this into your exoskeleton plz respond p.s i voted for you
the Hacksmith wow! hacksmith is here!!
the Hacksmith are you making more flying like iron man

I'm loving these two part builds, man. And I'm loving the effort you're putting into them.
I'm so glad I picked up some steel hot dogs. I knew they'd come in handy one day.
Your drive and attitude on life is what this generation needs more of.
I love how you don't print out the templates and you make your videos fun to watch an inspire other people like me. It’s always awesome to see youtubers fitting motivation/inspiration into their videos, especially when it comes to making things
I fully understand your stance on providing templates; however, selling them might provide an additional profit center. Either way, nice work.
Where has this channel been my whole life? glad i found it
He said "a steel hot dog". This might be one of my new favorite you tubers now
Not only did I learn about crafting armor, but you also taught me a valuable life lesson...
youre a smart man, speech at the end about working hard and accepting failure is so true.
I am subscribed to a lot of people on TH-cam, but I look forward to your builds the most, can't wait for the next one
I love how in every video you have a quote or a life lesson , and it makes me feel happy!

amazing build, way to go on barreling through with little sleep, being creative is sometimes bad for the health but we have to pull through to make kick ass projects like this. great job!
I like this guy. He earned my sub.
That creativity speech was on point. I definitely don’t want people to take the easy route
You have given me hope for your generation. Keep working hard like this and you will go far in life. Also thanks for the video’s.

Very nice concept and application, you are a very driven and TALENTED young man.Keep it up!
I love the little ideas and moral stories in your videos man! Your head is in a good place. Also loving all the builds. keep up the good work.
I almost want to put Wolverine claws on this but I know that would be dumb so I'm putting some small bolts on the knuckles
actually, id say that would be bad ass, but you could make them retractable and that would be even cooler

Woah I'm impressed! One of your best pieces yet.
Thank you for not providing the templates. I agree that there should be some self experimentation as well. Great job on the video and product.
I appreciate you man. Love how you are so transparent with your work and that you expect people to learn and try (And Fail).
You may not be the biggest youtuber but your videos are the best
Probably one of the coolest things you have ever built. Just a recommendation, maybe you could put some type of spike on the fist or something so if your weapon gets stuck in a zombie or something you could kill them with your fist:)
I wish I could remember how many subs this channel had when I sub to it, just seen it is at 1 million now and I couldn't believe it.
Your building aesthetic is amazing!
Im glad you use the metric system, kind regards from Germany

I feel you on the templates, these other TH-cam channels
I noticed were trying to sell them and I was thinking the same thing, I can make my own.
Dude, thanks for doing what you do. And also, thanks for the encouraging words. (I like the videogames analogy.
No problem dude, I love my job. Thanks for subscribing.

I had to shed a tear for those final words of wisdom
this is a painstaking build, and a lot of time going for the video. you did well zed
Thanks for the info, working on making a 3D printed gauntlet in the near future. The techniques will come in handy.
I enjoyed the advice as the video ended; almost like an old school episode of GI Joe when they'd do the life lesson before the show was over. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
definitely one of the coolest things you've ever made!!
for the top knuckle plate i recomend sharpening so when you punch it also cuts
What a punch in my face on I started to check your video. Such inspiration ... You ve got a fan from france !
Yo, you're crazy but in the best way. If I made a gauntlet like this thing, I wouldn't take it off. Ever. That thing is crazy awesome.

That spin out on the drill press happened to someone I know drilling on a knife he was making. He ended up in the hospital but luckily he survived.

Awesome build, gotta make one some time!
Love it, mate, but also, if viewers don't have welding clamps (~7:30) they can substitute vice clamps and a couple pieces of scrap wood to simulate the horizontal clamp.. Four years late, but hey!

awesome i like your point of creativity i took it and embaced it i made the gauntlet with pointed fingers and full hand plating
I respect your choice not to give templates. I went and bought David Guyton's for a guide to make my own though.
