Pretty cool, I clicked thinking it was going to be one of those "tutorials" that isn't actually a tutorial but a master craftsman just making something that maybe other master craftsmen could replicate, but you do make it seem very doable. I think it would take me many tries to get results as good as yours, but still it is inspiring.
Surprise collaboration with Alec Steel. Your armor looks amazing, seems only fair that you recreate Alec's Captain America Shield, which we get a glimpse of in his video.
I think this type of skill set and hands on is lost in American schools, and there is no choice between apprenticeship and formal education. It seems that the educational system is all about how much the student can swim in debt and then drawn
I learned 10x more after school than what I learned in it. And the internet was just a baby when I was in school. These days with TH-cam, etc, the only limit to knowledge is someone not bothering to look for it. We really don't need to pay for educations anymore; we just need the desire to learn.
@@DavidGuyton True and I respect your point of view. However, how long it takes to gather all that information and then use it to create something; not including the time to perfect the craft. I think apprenticeship or mentorship can make a significant difference specially when learning trade skills
@@Wolvinius oh I am not against learning in that fashion. I have respect for anyone chasing their dreams, no matter how they get there. I don't see a single black fingernail from crushing it with the hammer. You're simply not working hard enough. I myself would have at least two completely black fingernails ready to fall off, and a third mostly grown back in. VERY nice work, David.
