Regarding the dungeon: I don't think it really needs change. It's a relic of Minecraft's past. Mojang has said that the trial chambers are the revamped dungeon. The dungeon actually acts as a good way to teach the player that they can make the world their own. You can transform what's supposed to be a dangerous challenge into an xp farm.
It doesnt need to change massively but come on make it look just a little more interesting. Yung’s dungeons is a good example, just add more details so it doesn’t look outdated anymore
Most those types of arguments are trash ima be blunt there. Dungeons theme doesn’t need changing but the design itself absolutely needs to be overhauled. Yung’s dungeons, Dungeons and Taverns dungeons, integrated multi modded dungeons mod all show ways of how the vanilla structures suck. Yung shows how the builds themselves need more detailing even with the old themes and general designs kept. DNT shows how structures can be overhauled and given more variants while keeping a very vanilla build style. Integrated shows how default dungeons are just filled with mobs and nearly no puzzles. All show ways the dungeons can be improved even if some old parts of the structures designs are kept.
The main update that I think Minecraft needs is a polishing update. An update that polishes the game, making Minecraft feel finished. When I look at Minecraft compared to other games it makes me sad to say Minecraft feels kind of unfinished, like servers on bedrock feel trashy, playing a solo Minecraft survival feels empty with a lack of ambience, and I think the whole game could use a major change to have it run smoother on all versions.
I feel like your takes are very survival-focused. You want good loot and a reason to go to the place. However, minecraft isn't all about progression. I love the woodland mansion because it's extemely rare so visiting one is quite fun, and clearing out a mansion is pretty fun too. I would probably still do it if evokers weren't there. As for sponges, they're extremely useful for people who want to clear out large bodies of water, and there is only one place where you can get em. 8 gold blocks nothing to scoff at either. That's about half of the gold you'd find at a bastion, without nearly the same amount of risk. Trail ruins are not bad either. Collecting armor trims and sherds is pretty fun imo. Even if a structure doesn't help you speedrun the game, if it helps you experience many little tiny moments of fun or curiosity, I think it's doing its job. Most structures do a very good job at this, even the desert temple.
I am mainly looking at it from an exploration standpoint. And I agree Minecraft is not a survival game its a sandbox game so the progression is only a secondary thing compared to the main point of Minecraft and that is putting your ideas into reality. However we differ on our views of the woodland mansion because the mansion is extremely rare. In a normal survival playthrough you'd find probably only one of them so you'd expect the loot to be good but it's just mediocre. You are more likely to find enchanted diamond armor in an ancient city than to find an unenchanted diamond armor in the mansion. On the other hand the 8 gold blocks in the ocean monument just suck and the piglin bastions all you really need is to wear a golden armor piece and you can get double the amount from an ocean monument, also bastions are way easier to find, doesn't give you mining fatigue and the main enemy the piglins can be cheesed quite easily. Also speedrunning in minecraft is an issue ill cover in a future video, the structures should be able to give you an entertaining system whether that be puzzles, fighting or just exploring them in general, not just break two blocks or walk a bit and free loot.
I'd like to say one thing about ocean monuments. It has unique loot mechanics: loot can be only mined and it has a mob, which prevents you from mining. It still has too bad loot comparing to mob you have to fight, but developers had a good idea.
i mostly agree with u except for 1 thing. the trail ruin is one of the best structures there are. its not abt the loot, its about discovering a beautiful buried ex civilization. its nice to just explore it. i dont think it needs changing since not every structure should give you something good, awesome vid tho!
I understand your point but I am looking at it from gameplay perspective and the way Mojang made it, makes it so tedious to fully explore it and when a player who has spent this long to excavate the whole thing gets mediocre loot they tend to get a little disappointed from it. And I would say maybe I was a bit too harsh on it
its boring its tedious it has no loot and the only cool thing about it is lore if it interests you which is 1% of players its far from the best structure, maybe subjectively, but objectively its trash
@@Stalkernaut the lore in Minecraft is so small and minuscule that it’s just tedious to follow along with it and try to deduce what everything means though, I’m a person who loves the lore of every game but Minecraft lore is just not all that

One could argue the trial chamber is an update to the spawner room, but they decided to keep the old one anyway for nostalgia. They tend to do that a lot.
some of the strucutes like the mob spawner and pillager outpost are fine imo cuz simple structures that spawn commonly on overworld shouldn't have crazy good loot and it's fun to find early game, and they still have their purposes.
Honestly, I think it's pretty difficulty to get to a good point with the structures, even the good ones, because they do serve a purpose, but they don't seem correct to exist. Most of them there isn't someone who built it, any people who lived/visited there, no lore behind it and I think this is what mainly destroy structures, such as the desert wells that aren't even close to villages or temples, the jungle temples who wasn't even built by villagers as aren't anyone there, and it goes to all of them. I think it passed the time to come with some real lore to the game, they're literally making you discover ancient cities and trail ruins of no one lmao
I think focusing on lore is stupid for minecraft. It's a sandbox game so lore shouldn't even be there in the first place, but its mainly there to answer the question as to why they are there in the first place and since the game mostly caters to casual players, mostly kids who care little for lore and mostly loot, exploration and gameplay in general. Lore is cool and all but if the structure sucks then lore wont save it

Just last night, I was thinking how the Ocean Monument needs an Update. I was thinking maybe the Gold Casing had a chance to be either Iron, Gold, Diamond, or Emerald and could generate in 4 different spaces. I also thought maybe the Gaurdians could drop a "Monument Key" to unlock a Monument Vault that can drop a Trident more reliably.
while you make some good points, you're mostly just ranting about the problems, though fairly. I understand, don't worry. But usually every single change Mojang makes at least one person gets angry. So when changing something old, Mojang probably feels they shouldn't. Though the outdated feeling ones like the dungeon recently got a "new version" (Trial Chambers), so maybe making a new version of the Nether Fortress, Woodland Mansion, and more would make the community get what they want. Though Mojang make Minecraft still have some old stuff, stuff like terrain generation, the nether, villages/villagers, textures and more got completely revamped and the old stuff remains a distant memory. This might be a good thing, as they *really* need updating. One more thing about this is that Bedrock Edition can't switch to any version at all. Java Edition has the ability to go through all the archived versions of Minecraft. Nice video though, I subscribed
Minecraft needs a HUGE ambiance update (similar to realism craft) , a huge animation update (just officially add fresh animations or actions and stuff) and a huge UI and GUI update for all editions/versions and a very very very simple structure update (not too super duper great big or hyping just simple structures like random abandan or broken houses here and there and a single villager house here and there and a swamp and jungle villages etc)
Im a bit of a Trail Ruin defender, I do think it needs more unique lot beside the sherds, but its gameplay I think is okey, they tried to add a diferent structure that isnt focused on combat or exploration, the idea is to chill out and carefuly extract the loot, I've enjoyed a lot doing archeology there, of course Ancient Cities are waaay more of my playstyle, but I think is good to have a different gameplay in one of the many structures there are.
I can see your point there. It's just not for me I guess due to how much suspicious gravel/sand you have to excavate and it just feel like a punch in the stomach when all I get is a gold bar and some pot pieces. Everybody just has their way of playing minecraft
I think there were some valid points made in this video, but I want to present a counterpoint to temper some of the criticism. I think that Minecraft structures all have different uses and experiences in mind for the player, so when evaluating them I think that could have been addressed more throughly. This specifically applies most to the ocean temple, spawner room, and pillager outpost. These structures are very commonly used for farms, and their presence is less about the immediate challenge to the player, but how to make it useful for them. While they may lack some of the immediate thrill of an engaging combat adventure, I’d still say they’re well designed given their long term utility. When Mojang looks to the future of what new structures they’d like to develop (because honestly I doubt they’ll ever really revamp some of the old structures) I think they’ve got to keep in mind what makes a structure fun to do the first time (a challenging fight, mini boss, loot in chests) and what makes returning to that structure fun (unique mob spawning behaviors that provide a worthwhile drop).
I do understand that. Not every structure is meant to be a challenge and combat focused, thats why I think something like the desert and jungle temple should focus more on puzzle first and fight second. As for the ocean monument I would love for it to not be only used for a farm as due to how its designed you are supposed to kill all the big guardians to remove mining fatigue, however when there is no reward people make their own reward and that's probably why so many people make farms of them, its understandable As for the spawner room, its mainly just me being annoyed that such an important block (the spawner) is so easily available, however you are right, it wont be possible to create something bigger from a mob spawner As for the pilliger spawner, I just fucking hate it thats all... most of the rant on it is me being mad at its existence I just really hope (cope) that at least they touch up mainly the jungle and desert temple because they are probably the two I most want to see somewhat changed.
fun fact, monster rooms aren't actually listed as structures that generate during the same time as strongholds and such. they're part of the terrain generation iirc.
I don't feel like the classic dungeon needs to be modified. To me, the structure isn't for the loot, but for the mob spawner. When i come across a dungeon, i'm not like "Woohoo, can't wait for bread and disc 13!", I'm much more excited to use the spawner to my advantage to obtain the mob's loot in mass. Sure, you could argue they could expand the dungeon and add more loot, but like... why? what could they put in the dungeon that isn't everywhere else in the game like mineshafts, trail chambers, shipwrecks, buried treasure, villages, etc. plus, if they have multiple spawners in dungeons, that's waaayyy too much mob loot in one congested area. Also I'm just tired/satisfied with cave updates in general from the past few years, I'd rather just have overworld/end expansions for now
Yeah I understand your point. It is too simplistic of a building to need a big update, but for me it just looks outdated. Compared to the new structures mojang is adding the dungeon looks old, very old. And when it has a name like a dungeon you'd expect it to look like any dungeon in other game. That's why most people have been calling it a spawner and for me I just want to have something else in the caves that isn't only the mineshafts, trial chambers and the ancient cities and I think if they were to make a fourth structure they could probably utilize something from the dungeon. But overall looking back on it, maybe I should have put the dungeon in slight tweaks instead because the place is too simple to be updated to an actual structure worthy of being called a ''dungeon''

Why do people expect archaeology to have some sort of Indiana Jones type of deal? Even actual archaeologists liked the way Trail Ruins work. As for dungeons, no need to change. We need the simplicity of the structure for mob farms.
Well yeah actual archeologists liked it because it looked like something they do, but when you put it in Minecraft and hand it to casual players they will get bored pretty quickly by it. when I got teased with an archeology update all those years ago I had high expectations for it, that's mainly it, plus the indiana jones clip was there because I had nothing else to put in that section of the video
My complaint is that a lot of the content feels like half baked modded content like the creeking where the Warden Content feels fleshed out. Why did we get frogs and not say ducks? The cooking is great but it feels half baked at this point, the brewing needs and overhaul to make it worth your time. Maybe bring back Notch apples to require both cooking & brewing. Now that we got bundles maybe it's time we get doubled e-chests in a End update, that way you could have a system of dumping bundles in your double e-chests like a quick save feature. I mentioned before that I feel that it's time for all current blocks get all variants of blocks such as glass stairs, glass fences, glass trap doors. I don't need ground breaking content, just a fleshed out game. For instance do you eat anything besides say cooked stakes or cod in a pinch? When was the last time you made a cookie for non novelty reasons? I mean cake & cookies would be great for trading with witches.
for the first point, I agree my mistake but for the second point i would disagree because leaving the whole thing to rot just because they added something better (Trial Chambers) is a bit of a mixed take. The whole point of the video is to update the old stuff rather than keep adding new
I mean the structures are literally one of the main appeal of the game when it comes to exploring and when 80% of them suck then there should be at least small revamps, but I guess I ranted just because I feel left out, not because I want better for the game
0:28 - This logic is just STUPID. Before 1.16, nether was also never visited. If the developers acted according to your logic, they would never have updated nether.
comparing the end to the nether is not the same. The two dimensions have different uses and different accessibility. The reason why the nether was updated was because it is 10 times easier to access compared to the end. Most casual players who play the game probably never even reach the end as they are too focused playing in the overworld. I am not saying the end should never get updated but it is better for mojang to improve the overworld first then focus on other stuff like the end afterwards
i dont get ur point that the end doesnt need an update coz no one visits it because isnt it also a reason why it should get updated so that ppl will actually go there
I'm not saying the end doesn't need an update. I am saying it should not be number 1 priority on Mojang's list. I would love to see the end be updated like the nether did but if you think about it you only spend like 1% if not less of your survival world in the end. Even if the end was to be updated that percentage would barely go up because even with a massive overhaul to the end you'd still spend most of your time in the overworld. Thats why Mojang should focus on enhancing the overworld first and updating old structures is one way of doing it
finally someone who ackknowledges the sniffer is trash and also i think that the mansions should also spawn illusioners. If the illusioners now just got a good drop like maybe a potion infused totem or something and the structure would be WAY better.
Regarding the dungeon: I don't think it really needs change. It's a relic of Minecraft's past. Mojang has said that the trial chambers are the revamped dungeon.
I agree some items do also need to be revamped... you actually gave me a video idea for the future
the monster room 1 is NOT a structure, it is a feature, 2 we already got trial chambers that were just verry good updated monster rooms
for the first point, I agree my mistake but for the second point i would disagree because leaving the whole thing to rot just because they added something better (Trial Chambers) is a bit of a mixed take. The whole point of the video is to update the old stuff rather than keep adding new
@@Chunk-Junk then thing is they realy will not update it directly since it is like THE og structure
yeah... unfortunately
nice video, still can't understand how you have below 1k subs
Shulker hate is always appreciated 🤝
reached my front page, well done
I think the spawner is perfect
wtf, I thought you were some big-time year till i scrolled down, and it turns out you only have 350 subs, i gotta be the 351st... awesome content bruv
Pale garden
I hate this video with a fiery passion
jungle temple is the best structure in minecraft (after the Ancient city)
that shit be fire
1/10 ragebait 💀
@@Chunk-Junk lmao, but seriously i think its one of the but cuz its simple, and it doesn't need to be an overarching type of structure
@@Nada-nonexistentloot is dogshit tho
structure needs update because in a game with a 100 million players they all need to appeal to me rahhh
I mean the structures are literally one of the main appeal of the game when it comes to exploring and when 80% of them suck then there should be at least small revamps, but I guess I ranted just because I feel left out, not because I want better for the game
mojang should hire me to overhaul the stronghold, I could cook on the stronghold (pls mojang my mom is kinda homeless)
Thats why Mojang should focus on enhancing the overworld first and updating old structures is one way of doing it
dis strocture is so fokin emptie! de tree only gives you a fokin domb stoopid apple!
love the vid

finally someone who ackknowledges the sniffer is trash and also i think that the mansions should also spawn illusioners. If the illusioners now just got a good drop like maybe a potion infused totem or something and the structure would be WAY better.
Honestly i thought the trial ruins were scrapped early in development, Its so irrelevant i didnt even know Its in the game
