It was actually a great film to true Terminator buffs. I saw the original Terminator the year it came out. Angry Joe was born in that year. I saw Terminator 2 the year it came out, while Joe was 7. The series wasn't created for Joe's generation, and thus Joe doesn't understand it.

vince R yea I believe Spielberg does help produce the transformers movies along with a bunch of other types of movies. As far as the producer role not meaning much well it depends because every film is different. Sometimes a producer means as little as that persons production company helped pay for some of the film, other times producers are very hands on giving notes when they see the dailies and telling the director to add this or take out that so it all just depends on the specific film.

However in another universe Skynet wins the war but discovers multiverse tech to enter other universes. The reason? Same as our Skynet. Humans need to die. In this case however, this alternate Skynet wants to wipe out all Earths that have humans on them. This would ead to different terminator models (since they are from different universes), the ability for dead character to come back or evil versions of themselves like an evil Sarah Conner,for example. Lots of options to play with without destroying the T1 and T2 storylines.
Was John Conner even with his mom for long o.O she apparently died not long after the end of the second terminator movie which is why she wasn't in part 3 so it's not like she had much time with her son to even train him since he grew up his first few years without her since everyone thought she was crazy. Never actually seen him do anything in the movies as well besides being protected, so how was John Conner even trained by his mother? he was literally a bum on the run in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and couldn't even defend himself, if John did have any training it wasn't by his mom as he knew nothing about what to do until Terminator: Salvation where he finally did pick up a gun and fought back besides in the end still being protected by Marcus.
I like Alex's approach on the matter. He isn't quick to jump to conclusions and analyzes how the money works behind the scenes. If you don't like the movie the best way to voice your thoughts is to not support the movie. Money talks.

In T2, it was stated a terminator is set to read only mode due to skynet not wanting them to get smart. So unless someone removed Carl's ship to set it on learn mode, there is no way I can think of on how he was able to learn to be human after his mission was completed.

Probably the biggest mistake they ever made was trying to make Terminator a franchise. The most they should’ve done is a “prequel” in the original timeline about sending Kyle to the past, but the actors were too old to do that.

John Connor being replaced with a female character isn't what I have a problem with, nor do I believe that if John Connor was replaced by another guy it would be just as bad as the new character, maybe worse. I personally didn't want John Connor to be replaced in the 1st place, not because he's a guy, but because he was a pre-existing and interesting character with a rich history and lore. If they HAD to replace John (which they really didn't have to) a better thing they should have done is write a character that is interesting but leave the gender and race blank, then when it comes to casting allow anyone of any race or gender to audition and cast the person best fitted for the job; like what Ridley Scott did when casting the 1st Alien, he deliberately named and wrote the characters with a blank slate and hired the actors he felt were best for the job and look at what that gave us, one of the most badass characters in cinematic history that just so happens to be woman. Also, the de-aging tech today is incredible. I couldn't believe the beginning of Dark Fate when I saw Arnold and Hamilton negate they looked just like they did 30 years ago.
I liked Salvation, I dont get why people hate it. I think the human/robot hybrid was unnecessary. I also think CGI Arnold was a bad call. But I think they made a very believable dark future.
Salvation could have been the start of a good prequel trilogy. I guess the reason why people hated it was simply the lack of time traveling bs and no real Arnold.
It's amazing how Salvation has been the only one so far that actually bothered to show John leading the resistance and fighting the war against the machines.
Well if it was done right the 3rd movie would have been the future war John and the resistance scoring the critical killing blow to Skynet causing it to send back T-800. Then the film ends with John sending back Reese and boom you have the perfect time loop.
One of my work colleagues came up to me on monday and told me how they had seen the film, and loved it. I countered that John was dead, and supposed to be the resistance leader, to which she responded that "nu-uh! Sarah is!" In essence she liked it because it did away with the lore after T2.

vince R yea I believe Spielberg does help produce the transformers movies along with a bunch of other types of movies. As far as the producer role not meaning much well it depends because every film is different. Sometimes a producer means as little as that persons production company helped pay for some of the film, other times producers are very hands on giving notes when they see the dailies and telling the director to add this or take out that so it all just depends on the specific film.

However in another universe Skynet wins the war but discovers multiverse tech to enter other universes. The reason? Same as our Skynet. Humans need to die. In this case however, this alternate Skynet wants to wipe out all Earths that have humans on them. This would ead to different terminator models (since they are from different universes), the ability for dead character to come back or evil versions of themselves like an evil Sarah Conner,for example. Lots of options to play with without destroying the T1 and T2 storylines.

Was John Conner even with his mom for long o.O she apparently died not long after the end of the second terminator movie which is why she wasn't in part 3 so it's not like she had much time with her son to even train him since he grew up his first few years without her since everyone thought she was crazy. Never actually seen him do anything in the movies as well besides being protected, so how was John Conner even trained by his mother? he was literally a bum on the run in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and couldn't even defend himself, if John did have any training it wasn't by his mom as he knew nothing about what to do until Terminator: Salvation where he finally did pick up a gun and fought back besides in the end still being protected by Marcus.

Without China’s help too. Joker is clearly a passion filled movie which had something to say. Every goddamn frame, you can tell. And it was made for one third this movie’s budget. Money won’t fix lack of vision. This movie had nothing to say. It was too eager to jump on the woke bandwagon which people seem to forget, has been solved for decades. Women being leads in action films is nothing new, and they think it’s a brand new gimmick, like they’re being original with it.
The exception isn’t the rule. R rated films have it more difficult

If john was killed then what is the point of sending Kyle Reese back if his son would later get killed as a kid. this is why I prefer the comic versions that actually are connected to the movies and the last comic it shows that Skynet finally makes peace with humanity.

John Connor being replaced with a female character isn't what I have a problem with, nor do I believe that if John Connor was replaced by another guy it would be just as bad as the new character, maybe worse. The gender of the character isn't the issue, nor should it ever be the issue, the issue is that the character they replaced John Connor with is uninteresting. I personally didn't want John Connor to be replaced in the 1st place, not because he's a guy, but because he was a pre-existing and interesting character with a rich history and lore. If they HAD to replace John (which they really didn't have to) a better thing they should have done is write a character that is interesting but leave the gender and race blank, then when it comes to casting allow anyone of any race or gender to audition and cast the person best fitted for the job; like what Ridley Scott did when casting the 1st Alien, he deliberately named and wrote the characters with a blank slate and hired the actors he felt were best for the job and look at what that gave us, one of the most badass characters in cinematic history that just so happens to be woman. I also feel like Tim Miller maybe didn’t pay attention to the original 2 Terminator films. John Conner was not a chosen one. Sky-net took over and John Conner just happened to be the guy to rise up and fight back as a leader which then made Skynet send a Terminator back in time to stop it. There was no prophecy or “marked child” to begin with. So really, John Conner is exactly what Tim Miller was trying to describe.

Also, the de-aging tech today is incredible. I couldn't believe the beginning of Dark Fate when I saw Arnold and Hamilton negate they looked just like they did 30 years ago.
I would have liked to see the planned “Salvation” trilogy finished. That was the future war we all want.

Salvation was pretty much the end of the series. The movies after the fourth one are cash grabs.
I liked Salvation, I dont get why people hate it. I think the human/robot hybrid was unnecessary. I also think CGI Arnold was a bad call. But I think they made a very believable dark future.
Salvation could have been the start of a good prequel trilogy. I guess the reason why people hated it was simply the lack of time traveling bs and no real Arnold.
It's amazing how Salvation has been the only one so far that actually bothered to show John leading the resistance and fighting the war against the machines.
Why can't they understand we just want a dark gritty future war like the flashbacks in T1 & T2.
Well if it was done right the 3rd movie would have been the future war John and the resistance scoring the critical killing blow to Skynet causing it to send back T-800. Then the film ends with John sending back Reese and boom you have the perfect time loop.
