Honest question: Who in his right mind would seriously consider moving to Egypt, Nigeria, or Saudi Arabia?
If you have the means to spend more than one year (or your retirement) in a foreign country, would these three countries ever pop up as realistic destinations?

I’m sure the first place is deserved by the USA.
While entering at JFK you’re immediately yelled at for no reason by several obese employees, and you didn’t even speak a word.
But before that, you’ve already filled in some 3 kilos of forms, that require you to share the most weird things. Was my grandfather a trespasser ever in his life? Imagine!
You finally manage to rent a car. You’re determined to avoid speeding. On your way to Philly, you’re stopped by the police. You don’t know why, but you’re sure it wasn’t for speeding.
The police officer draws a loaded gun at you, yelling something at you you cannot hear.
You open your window but he shouts you must close it. You asked for his badge and number but he wouldn’t show it to you. Is he really a police officer?
After a lot of shouting he’s got you out of your rental car, your hands handcuffed, your head slammed into the roofrail of your car. You’re moaning of pain, and then he says he’s gonna shoot you. His colleague calms him down, so fortunately he’s only tasering you.
Then his boss shows up, taking off your handcuffs, explaining that it was just a big misunderstanding and that you’re allowed to continue your journey.
One hour later you arrive at your expensive motel. The room smells bad and is too small. Why do they have separate faucets for hot and cold water? You only wanted to wash your face right?
You go to this recommended restaurant and order the salmon dish. What you get is trout, drowned in vinegar. Cockroaches cross the floor. Expensive cockroaches!
You leave the premises, having a last glimpse, seeing Gordon Ramsay sitting at a table in a corner, his face expresses hopelessness.
You enter Pennsylvania. What a relief! Suddenly the roads don’t have potholes anymore. You drive through a wonderful beech forest, seeing a romantic lake. Time for a swim. You have no swimming clothes, but who cares, nobody is there.
You plunge into the water and some water gets into your mouth. Then you die because the lake contains the highest level of mercury and lead in the world. You’re welcomed by the many skeletons on the bottom of the lake. An angel of God is hovering above the water's surface, making clear that you’re principally welcome in heaven, but you’re too polluted to get in.

However, I have not heard about people from North America or Europe willing to move to Nigeria, Egypt or Saudi Arabia just because of the hype. We know that these countries present cultural differences (shocks) that cannot be accepted by the Westerners and I cannot imagine anyone moving to one of those countries without visiting them first and spending there a week or two.

Being that we grew up with human rights we kind of want at least some of them in our next destination. The corruption in Nigeria is legendary, as it is in Egypt. And Saudi Arabia has it's own problems. The very least of which is we would feel very poor there! The climate is also hugely changing throughout the year, something most expats don't like. For most they tend to go tropical but high elevation so daytime temperatures are rarely over 25 and nighttime temps are rarely below 12. Usually around 1600 meters or 5000'. Like Guadalajara, Medellin, San Miguel de Allende....they're popular for expats because of that very stable and temperate climate.

Learn the language! - Purchased a house south of Napoli and did renovate it. - Never encountered overwhelmingly complicated paperwork with the authority, in fact, I was suprisingly pleased how frictionless stuff worked out. - Always searched advice from locals and soon learned how to deal with Italian bureaucracy. Never neglect your paperwork, but it's often not necessary to wait for the outcome. And one, two trips to the local palazzo comunale and meet the "important people" in person works wonder. It opens doors...

The best travel reel I have ever watched! Hilarious and true to life to an extent rarely seen in the travel videos genre. Have always found that the run of the mill travel videos were crafted to make every destination seem like a place you’ve always dreamed of exploring while giving short shrift to things that could turn your dreams into a nightmare. But not this video. Have done some traveling myself and can tell you that we are being well served by the content presented here. Haven’t laughed so hard and marveled so much at the sardonic humor that elegantly and with great wit appropriately set the record straight about the hyped up travel vids that overly romanticize travel destinations as being Shangri-La. Have also personally had the same assessments given in this video floating around in my head for many years and thought I was being too judgmental about traveling to far flung places, but this video made it clear to me that I was justifiably circumspect about what it’s really like to see the world. In the end, I believe the message of this video is to have fun but be sure you know what you are getting yourself into because many places can be as beautiful as they are intolerable.

Who researched this "information"? I suspect no one did and only old wives tales repeated people never actually visited these countries. For example your claims about Russia had zero connection to reality you harped on extreme cold when like north America whiners vary with region but only in far north east sparsely populated regions are any colder thanNYC but with difference being every city has excellent heating systems so your home, any shops, museums etc , all buildigs are cozy warm and major destinations such as Moscow or St Petersburg are warmer than Chicago with better control of snow or ice. Winter is a very social time since the summer tourist are gone, so the stunning museums opera, ballet, drama, jazz clubs, very social pubs, parks fine dining, and socializing is great fun, friendly and stress free, crime free and low cost.
If you lease a home, usually an apartment in cities, as a foreigner your residence needs to be registered with your passport info but you do not do that, your landlord does and it can be done at any post office or district administration office. A typical city center apartment in St Petersburg might be $400-500 a month for 2-3 bedroom. Public transportation is very easy, very convenient and cheap, there is no need for a car. Utilities are cheap and the landlord pays it. Every home building is plumbed for central how water for space heating so every room i the city is warm all winter. Cost of living at a much higher quality of life than you live in the US is the norm, with so much more do relating to culture and socializing than is possible in the divided angry USA. In any cities menus are in Russian and English. About 1/2 the population over 8 years old knows English. The road signs are all in Cyrillic and English.
That is one example of the nonsense about more most of these countries. Talk to any ex-pat from the US and they will confirm it is easier safer more cultured and friendlier than the US.
Services and social activities are available 24/7 and it is safer than the US or Europe.
Whomever write this script should at least visit where the are writing about.
Another thing to consider is excellent internet access is everywhere and Yandex Apps for Maps, dining, ordering a car(ordering a car is cheap and convenient and its verbal or text translator allows good communications with anyone who does not speak English. It is better than Google versions. My internet account is $6 a month. Even deep underground in the Subway has free wifi And my home 330 megabit/sec unmetered fiber optic internet is $6/month. For $3 more yon get 660-880mb/sec internet, Everything just works here and everyone gets along

I will add one: The Dominican Republic. Its people are the some of the friendliest people on earth: It you want to make lots of good friends, there is nothing like this country. If you carry dollars or British pounds, the cost of living is cheap. However, you cannot trust the water or the cooked food you buy. Far worse, if Cairo is a mess of cars honking, try Santiago de los Caballeros: Honking is not a cacophony, but a nearly continuous high-decibel insidious level of noise. And do not get me started about the power outages: It is not rare for a power outage to last 36 or more hours, during which running water will stop, so as a toilet you will have to use a can: I went through all of it during my short-stay in this country of truly heart-warmed people.

Cyrilic is an artificially made up alphabet, by 2 Byzantine monks, Cyril and Methodius in the 5 century, but was never used by any Slavic country, even was intended so to spread the Eastern orthodox religion to slavs. It was used only by Romania, which unfortunately is a Latin country, not slavic. Even in Romania was prohibited at the end of 19 century. By the way even Slavic writing differe from country to country, who still use it, like Russia, Bulgaria the Jugoslav nations, in Slovakia and Czehia they already turned to Latin alphabet. Get the knowledge before you talk shit publicly. Some ignorants may believe your wrong saying.

Banking always requires tax forms for dual citizens the bankers do not always know the procedure so they call you back. Why would anybody move without having a source of income arranged prior to the move? Or learning the language? All countries have bureaucracy. I lived in Israel as a child and moved back after 50 years in the states. I had not used Hebrew for 50 years, I remembered it. I do not regret the move. Westerners live in a bubble, a movie. Attitude is everything. Most countries have smartphones, VPNs, google translate and ATMs that exchange currency automatically. Communicate with your foreign embassies, that is what they are there for, but they are staffed by locals, English is their second or third language. Be patient. WAZE is used in Israel and works elsewhere so does Google Earth. There are trouble spots, avoid them, life goes on elsewhere. Read the news.
You are a total carmageddon. Where do you live now? You talk like you hate travel. Why do this? What do you enjoy?
By the way, if you travel to Istanbul, Türkiye with a dog, it's rather difficult to get a taxi or a hotel room but it can be done.

Brazil - what was missing: An extremely slow and corrupt judiciary, even at the highest level. Recent example: When calculating pensions, more than 100,000 pensioners, including foreigners, were defrauded, as their pension insurance contributions made before the so called "Plano Real" (a set of measures to stabilize the Brazilian economy) in July 1994 were not considered. This particularly affects people who held a managerial position before this date and then became self-employed, voluntarily, or involuntarily. The process dragged on for more than 10 years, was won three times, but was then rejected due to legal maneuvers by the Constitutional Court. When it comes to money, lawsuits against the state have no chance.

Good lawyers to navigate Visas and immigration cleanly and efficiently and good tax planning in advance of migration is definitely recommended. Brazil isn't an especially low tax country but NEVERTHELESS it's still a LOT lower tax than the ANGLOSPHERE AND EU AREAS particularly if you take full advantage of their rather kind and generous LEGITIMATE and ALLOWABLE DEDUCTIONS FROM TAX! After dark use inexpensive UBER at least until you know things a lot, lot better. Other than that Brazil is a fine country with diverse lifestyles so if RIO DE JANEIRO big city living isn't your style there are plenty of other low key options too numerous to mention!

Renting in France is another nightmare for first time renters - you need to set up a file (dossier)... However, in Greece the administrative wasteland is dealt with online; real unemployment is negative in both Italy & Greece, so if you ever LOOK for a souvlaki sales rep good luck finding one... And getting an internet connection is easy (I've done it recently in both countries). It's just (unecessarily) expensive to get a fast connection. Regards

Looking at that list, these countries are the last places on Earth I'd want to move to. Who in their right mind would want to emigrate to Egypt, China, Russia, South Africa, Brazil, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, or India??

According to Karl Pilkington, you 'get respect' from sitting around a cafe sipping coffee all day in Italy when it is frowned upon in Britain.

Film Maker for TH-cam is a different level then the theater where you struggle months for producing a film. The early and, probably first, is inspired. Reality comes as life needs continual short videos to support the life. Some are good, a few great, and then there are those for filling in. Such was this.

The video was humorous unless of course you are a national from one of the countries mentioned. At any rate, I would still consider Italy and Brazil, for example as possible destinations. You just have to have the connections and the know-how to enjoy it there. All countries have problems, including the US, UK, Canada, etc.,

Reality is worse. In Ankara the apartment manager bangs on the door to collect money to buy oil for the building heater. Give liberally, or be prepared for a cold awakening in the morning. In winter it can reach -12°C. Usually it was colder than Moscow.

Just looking at the Greece portion; it seems that OK, the economic situation is not great, but you would have your money offshore, so it would not affect you, the paperwork may be an issue, but from what I can see, with a minimum wage of 934 Euros, life cannot be hugely expensive I was on Crete for a while and it was really cheap.

India is safe & affordable than any other country .
Banking , Power, Internet, communication systems are excellent.
Now with Modiji as Prime Minister we are progressing in all fronts & is the third largest economy also.

I remember flying the last 20 years to US East and West coast, as well as to Canada and I saw sinking stars, total destruction, poverty, drugs in the streets, violence and rainbows everywhere. Why isn't ist mentioned in the list? I don't wonder why...
