I was thinking about the dual exhaust. My guess, it’s for a specific sound. Cant wait for mine. I wanted a 690 SMCR originally but changed my mind after seeing crashes that went badly with a rear gas tank.
Some info here that does not seem to be correct, like 46.5NM torque on an almost 700CC single cylinder engine sounds too weak, should be putting out closer to 70 NM on a huge single like that. If so, it should be targeting/going for the sales on the KTM 690 SMC-R that has similar power, a bit lower HP on the KTM but it also weighs about 8-10 kg less if both are full with fuel. The KTM is also very fast for a single cylinder bike, I have the KTM 690 Enduro 2020 bike and I have been closer to 200 km/h on that bike, it is completely useless to ride that fast on bikes like these so I am going to put a 2 tooth smaller sprocket in the front and a 2 tooth bigger sprocket in the back. That should make it top out around 160 km/h but accelerate crazy fast which is more appropriate for bikes like these. Over 160 km/h is not fun to ride on these bikes, I will be testing this Ducati in April when the season starts here in Sweden, I am very interested to compare this 698 Hypermotard to my 690 Enduro. The Ducati looks better, but 10 kg more in weight is probably noticeable on "light" bikes like these. I wonder if the only difference is the color on the fairings and wheels on the Hypermotard 698 RVE compared to the standard one. If it is only a color difference then I think 1200 € is too much money and I would rather go for the standard red one.
I’m sure you can shave 10lbs off the bike once you upgrade the OEM exhaust. I’ve been considering the 690 SMCR but I’m going Ducati since it looks better.
@@ClutchFirst Then of course you can, and I did shave 10lbs of the KTM 690 Enduro as well making it even lighter. So the KTM is still lighter since it is lighter than the Duc already from factory. I looked the Torque numbers up on the Hypermotard 698, they were like I thought a lot higher than 46.5 nm The Ducati looks a bit better, but the KTM 690 SMC-R is not looking bad once you style it up a bit. It actually looks more like a classic supermoto than the Ducati. The Hypermotards have some kind of street bike flavour to them. Even though the Hyper 698 is more of a "real" supermoto than the Hypermotard 950 since it is much lighter and slimmer. The KTM however feels even more slimmer and looks closer to a 450cc classic, real supermoto than the hypermotard 698 does. I like them both though, I already own the 690 Enduro as I said so I am not going to buy the Ducati it is to similar of a bike but I am eager to try it since I love single cylinder bikes
@@mathias6423 The weight difference is barely noticeable. It’s not a 50lbs difference. I’m excited for the comparison videos then we’ll know if Ducati has outpaced the competition.
Superb intro video. Hope Ducati collaborates with you in the future for introducing future models. Voice and info matches the brand recognition 👌🏾👌🏾
I wish! They could always cut me a check, I don’t need a free bike. Lol
Picking mine up within the next two weeks; just got the VIN from my dealer.
That’s exciting, congratulations. A friend of mine rode one today and it’s all positives once you turn wheelie control off.
Are you getting the standard or the RVE?
Can’t wait to see this in person 😍
2024 will be a fun and interesting years. YESSSIRRRR LOL
Revved up excitement
Super excited to get mine.
I have a Ktm 690 and it’s been a great bike for me. I like this Ducati though. Can’t help but wonder why two cans on a single cylinder though?

I’m hoping to test ride one in 2024 and maybe own one in the near future. I bought a miata this winter instead of ordering this bike.
Congratulations on the new car! I really hope this bike is everything that Ducati says that it is. Looking forward to 2024.
I would love to convert it to an adventure bike and do some off roading
if only i had the money, damnit. I would sell my kidney for this.
LOL, No need to sell a kidney. Just get a summer job.
Slicks for the street?
I wouldn't put slicks on mine.
