this really sums up what i think has been sliding downhill fast about snap, its all about leaving.. and leaving, and leaving, and waiting for that 8cube hand. it isnt satisfying gameplay to constantly see retreat even if you win them.
I made it to infinite my first month playing. Thanks to all your other videos. This video helped me understand everything I'm doing right or wrong. All of your videos have made me a better player.
I love your videos and strategy breakdowns! This one in particular was very insightful for me, as I do have a hard time retreating when I feel like I have a chance (but it’s a small rng one). Keep up the great work, man!
Been burnt so many times I pretty much always retreat when my opponent snaps now. My "come from behind" wins are far outweighed by the straight losses. My main issue is that I am rarely confident enough to snap prior to turn 6, so my wins are all for one or two cubes. Not much progression happening here!
Stop leaving just because they snap. It is better to leave turn 6 and lose 2 cubes after they prove they have a winning setup than to constantly leave JUST because they snapped. If your game state looks awful, yeah peace out. Otherwise, make them prove they are not just over confident or bluffing. Especially when you are below r90, people snap when they shouldn't all the time
@JamestheKilljoy I even got to the point of listing what happened after staying in when someone snapped. I lost the last 10 games. Could be a run of bad rng but it bugged me to the point I wasn't enjoying the game. Much happier just retreating and (very) slowly climbing.
@@hermanbloom to be honest, as someone who has hit Infinite rank 3 months in a row, it isn't a big deal. The real fun is found in building your own deck, upgrading your favorite cards, and trying out the new ones you get. If it is stressing you out that you are not hitting infinite, I would stop caring about it if you can. Besides, you make better decisions and win more when you are not getting tilted. So, yeah if retreating from an early snap helps you not tilt, maybe that is better for you
@JamestheKilljoy yeah for sure, a lot has to do with my brain and its lack of ability to read what the opponent has and over estimate my cards. Tried it again tonight, 8 rounds where the opponent snapped before turn 6 and I stayed in. Lost all of them. Running Dino Darkhawk deck so it's not a bad deck, just user error. But it happens so regularly I am better off just going slow and steady, and getting my nice Mystique variant levelled up. That's the fun for me for the moment.

This is a great video. What's hard for me is that I can ALWAYS imagine a scenario where I can lose. Maybe I lose to an Aero, or Magneto, or Shang-Chi, or Dr. Doom. It feels like there are so many possible ways my opponent can destroy me. How do you create a situation where you are guaranteed to win?
Say I complete Pool 3, I start getting more tokens in boxes. An update drops, some Pool 4 cards become Pool 3, and I don’t own them, do I stop getting increased tokens from boxes?
As a new player speaking to other potential new players if you see red skull come down expect a Arnim Zola or a taskmaster to follow. Lost countless games to that combo because I convinced myself I could win and refused to accept a scenario where I could lose. Don't be stubborn.
I’ve won over 200 cubes today and gained 20 ranks (51 > 71) today using thanos lockjaw. I think some of my opponents need to watch this video because they snap on turn 6 when i’m losing 1 lane and they forget I can play a 21 thanos and a stone into my lockjaw lane. A lot of people think its just only RNG, but no, the deck needs to be played correctly even with all the RNG components to make that RNG be more on your side. You are still facing the same strong players that you were playing at 72 last season, so the game encourages you to have a 50% win rate so technically you're not suppose to climb after a few seasons. It's a little rough
Thats because the players you faced before learned the game quicker and better than you, they are winning and you are losing, thats why they are leaving you in lower ranks than before, so you need to try and figure out the things that you think you are lacking and work on them. Maybe you are not retreating appropriately, maybe you are not understanding the meta, maybe you are not snapping at the right times, etc.

Shang Chi is a tech card that polices the format like killmonger does for zoo strategies (although zoo is generally underpowered at the moment, except Thanos zoo) so the game does not devolve into whoever slams the biggest thing wins. Right now he is overrepresented because go-wide strategies get eaten up by Shuri and Galactus and are underperforming in general.

Who thinks Shang Chi needs a nerf? Either make it 4-1 or cost 5. Gets too much value and the 3 power it has allows it to win lanes more than it should
No he does not need a nerf.
Think shang chi is fine, but the situation that makes shang chi feel necessary in a lot of decks is what I would be looking at
I think it is a really bad idea to leave just because someone snapped you. If you have a meh hand, then yeah, peace out. Otherwise, I'd rather lose 2 cubes retreating on turn 6 to make them prove they had the win setup than run away early because they intimidated me

Yes! DOUBLE CHECK YOUR MATH! Trust me! Hahaha
First!
Hope you're doing well Showme!
Sorry but I disagree, percentages are fundamental. I do think people tend to overestimate their percentages but if you make a correct assessment they are literally GTO
This is the most depressing video I ever saw.
RETREAT!!! RETREAT!
