    I love the way you explain the important changes; the ones that could spell disaster if not configured properly.
    I would have liked to see the splash screen in action and what happens when changes are saved.😁

    Joan, what should be the cisco 3750 port configuration or switch configuration to connect meraki access point

    • @TheITWay
      @TheITWay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Suresh,
      There is no specific configuration that should be in place, it will depend on your network specifics ( trunk or access, VLAN, DHCP or static IP, etc). Check which VLANs or traffic would you like to use in the AP and then you can configure it accordingly.

    Hi , can you share information of configuring DHCP relay for Meraki APs. I have a scenario in which all the SSIDs are configured via WLC Controller. We need to configure New Meraki APs so that they can have same SSIDs and IP addresses from the DHCP server in parallel to the existing network. Is it possible, or can we configure APs with Static IPs and the clients get IP information from the controller and use the same ranges?

    • @TheITWay
      @TheITWay  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Hamza,
      The SSIDs in the Meraki APs can be configured as "Bridge mode". When the clients associate to the SSID, the DHCP discover will be sent to the LAN, the upstream devices will be responsible to send the DHCP Discover to the DHCP server. The VLAN used for the DHCP discover coming from the client will be the one configured in the Access Control page of the SSID.
      The Meraki APs do not have DHCP Relay configuration because they do not need it. They will send the DHCP Discover upstream and the devices in the LAN should forward the traffic properly.
      I hope that answer your question.

    Hi Juan, can you please tell me how many user can a meraki Access Point like MR76 with external Antenna support, and how much range is recommended between the AP‘s?

    • @TheITWay
      @TheITWay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Ali,
      That is a question that cannot be answered easily. The number of clients will depend more in the environment than in the capabilities of the AP. since you are talking of the MR76 which is one of the latest APs as of now, I would not worry of the number of clients that supports and more of the environment that allows the AP to support as much as possible. This AP is able to handle as much as you can bring them as long as the environment allows it.
      You should refrain your focus on doing a very good site survey to answer your following questions. With good Site survey results, you will be able to know how many clients your environment supports with several of these APs in the space you have with the separation you projected. This information cannot be achieve without proper analysis of the location and RF environment, any info I can give you know would be just speculation.
      I hope that helps you.

    I have to connect this Meraki access point to a Cisco switch to remote location. i wanted to know before i send this out to replace our old non meraki access point if i need to configure the access point with IP address?

    • @TheITWay
      @TheITWay  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If the remote location has a DHCP server able to provide an IP address, you do not need to assign a static IP address to the AP, it will request one once it is connected.

    Can an MR42 or 33 be used as a standalone access point? I plugged in and it pulled an IP but cannot connect to it? Is it not possible?

    • @TheITWay
      @TheITWay  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Doug,
      All Meraki APs can be considered standalone access points and are connected to the Meraki Dashboard. Are you using the Meraki dashboard or trying to access it locally? Take that into consideration.
