    Thanks for sharing the video. I have a question. Can we loadbalance between the internet wired uplink and the cellular uplink?

    does the cellular gateway have passthrough mode to give the public IP to the MX?

    Thanks for making these videos! I watched a few of them over the weekend and was able to successfully deploy a new MX67W (to replace an older Fortigate model) today, complete with isolated guest wifi network + the corporate wifi network. Question, wouldn't it be easier to just plug in a cellular USB modem directly into an MX67W rather than deploying/configuring an MG that requires additional subscription license? From what I read you just plug a USB cellular modem right into the MX after it has been activated/configured to communicate with the cellular provider network and the MX will automatic use that cellular network as as backup for when the primary WAN1 goes down (so loose my cable modem signal).

      Hello Mike,
      I am glad you found the videos useful!
      It will depend on your needs. If you already have an MX67W and would like to have USB modem as uplink backup, you do not need an MG. However, if you do not have an MX67XW and need a 4G uplink to your device with the power of the dashboard, the MG is the option to go.
      The MG will be there to provide a regular ethernet uplink to any downstream device.
      I hope that helps. Have a great day!

    Hello. I have a mx68cw device with built-in cellular capabilities. My question is. Is it possible for the device to fail over to the cellular? Do you perhaps have a video on how to configure the failover? Looking forward to hear from you.

      @TheITWay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Decode,
      Yes, the MXWs have built-in cellular for that reason. If the cellular is active and the other WAN connections are down, it will fail over automatically.

    How can we connect LTE cellular settings on MX68CW? Do we need a separate Cellular gateway device or it should work directly? I am not seeing Active Cellular settings on the MX68 device

      Hello @Hamza,
      In order to configure the cellular connection of the MX68CW, you can follow the guidelines of Cisco Meraki in the documentation below.

    How does the cellular gateway can go directly online without typing in any info about the PIN / SIM etc.!?

    Let us say I have a building that has terrible cellular service. Will this act as a booster to boost cellular signal in general... or is it only a load off point for cellular traffic to the LAN?

      With that scenario you should use a MG21E with external antennas and It will works good, I'm telling you this due to my experience installing this one on a DC with poor signal strength on my phone.

    • @TheITWay
      @TheITWay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Bald and Robert,
      Robert is correct, the MG is not for boosting the cellular signal. However, the external antennas can help you in case you install the device in places with lower signal.

    So here is what i dont understand. Meraki is horrifically expensive gear. Ive got MX450s MS355s MS425s a ton of APs and Cameras. a 6 story building in need of an lte backup.
    This kit is not designed for home users, unless you have money to burn. Now they add in sensors and MT gateways. ok cool, the sensors could have been a little bit more intelligent, seems like Meraki is setting their bar low on these devices. but next you have the MT. and here is where im confused. no antenna cable? your limited to the length of ethernet. this is bullshit. how am i supposed to get an ethernet cable from multiple server rooms up on to the top of my six story building. thats 100s of meters of cable.
    next the sim card is in the gateway and these dudes are expecting us to what, climb onto the roof of our building to mount these gateways as apposed to putting them in a server room, connecting an antenna cable, something like coax, whcih does go 100s of meters, up to the roof to an actual antenna. having an antenna built into a gateway that is supposed to be mounted on the out side of a building, is just insane, and does not fit the intelligence of the meraki eco system, i get the feeling they hired some noob to came up with this stupid idea.
