I spent a lot of years behind the fence and it definitely took a toll, I understand what you're dealing with. Nobody knows what it's like, I may never get over it.

I feel really embarrassed to speak about this but idk what else to do. I feel like my wife doesn’t take me seriously when I say that I am going down hill. Nobody really understands around me. I am a jail officer at a facility that is extremely understaffed. I worked at a prison for 4 years and had a severe spike in blood pressure and heart rate. I left that job because my family was falling apart. I was falling apart. Now I need the money again so I’m back into this line of work. Yesterday I was rushed to the hospital after once again my blood pressure got so high the machine wouldn’t register it and my bpm reached 245. I have today and tomorrow off and I can’t financially afford to miss these days just because the doctor said to take off. Idk what to do. I feel like my time at the prison which was about 5 years ago has carried over and now after only a month in the jail I feel the same way I did when I left the prison. I’m crashing hard.

God bless you brother, I hope you can find healing in time. It's a world that people can't imagine, we can't really tell anyone because nobody outside can relate. I'm praying for you. You pray for me.

Dude hit me up. 5 years of a usmc brig has wrecked my life. I may be able to talk with you and give you some insight to what helps me.

No thanks needed my friend... I did what I did to survive and that's nothing to be proud of. If I knew I was going to serve in a jail for years I would have thought twice about my MOS selection. I come back to this video every time I'm having my PTSD triggered.

I was locked up from age 12 to 16. I still have bad dreams a lot. Or who knows, maybe I’m being a b about it

I'm sure alot of CO's with PTSD comes from guilt. A lot of Officers abuse and or neglect inmates and I'm sure they have remorseful flashbacks. No different from War Veterans feeling bad about killing oppositions.

Respectfully disagree. I can honestly count on one hand the number of COs I know that would actually go out of their way to make an inmate's day harder/worse. The ones that truly suffer from PTSD obtained inside the walls are the ones that were simply doing their jobs and have had unfortunate experiences. Just my opinion on the matter though. God Bless, friend.

I am still fucked up in the head from my years at SingSing Max. Its been years since i willingly walked away from all that...
The only thing that seems to help is listening to videos of Taoism....
