    Note that shutting down doesn't clear the computer like restarting does because of a feature called Fast Startup that is enabled by default.
    It is possible to turn off Fast Startup but keep in mind that every time you turn on your computer after that, it will be slower to start.

    Brett, another great video. I didn't know about the game mode; which I disabled and visual effects. I was aware of the startup apps, updating drivers and apps and scanning for viruses. Do you have any tips for random freezing? Thank you for all you do!

    Sort of surprised you didn't include the new MS PC Manager app for Win11 with it's Boost and other features. Yeah, it's still considered a download, for now.

    Note shutdown will not clear the memory if you have fast startup enabled. Most windows PC’s have it enabled so you must hold down shift when shutting down. Restart does clear the memory though.

    by far the best way to improve the performance of your computer running windows 11 is to save your data to a remote drive, scrub the disks, and install a top tier Linux Distro. No, not a fanboy, been running 'windows' since it was Dos, and before that CPM. Linux has finally evolved to the point that a number of distros are entirely suitable for replacing Win 10, 11 etc. Alternative programs exist to replace pretty much anything you can do on windows, and, if you need to, there are easily implemented ways to run almost every Win program.
    Get rid of the data mining, security faults, and incessant Win intrusions into your privacy. Excepting ONLY those users COMPELLED by corporate/governmental authorities to use Win11, 99% of the computing world can easily replace Windows in favor of Linux with a broad smile; and never look back.

    • @cadelepski5161
      @cadelepski5161 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, so choose a distro from the 40 or so, then get alternative programs to replace what Windows does, and then implement ways to run your Windows programs. I'm sure there's also some verifying thing you have to do to make sure this wonder program is safe. This is why Linux has less than 3% market share after over 20 years.

    • @seeratlasdtyria4584
      @seeratlasdtyria4584 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cadelepski5161 to be absolutely accurate, TODAY's top distro's can do ANYTHING worth doing that windows can, including gaming. The problem with the "3 %" analysis, is that the fault lies not in the Linux distro's, but in the computer illiteracy /incompetence of the general public. :( I would hazard a guess that among scientists, mathematicians, physicists, engineers , chemists etc; that almost NO ONE uses Windows 11. It's not that the op system is totally incompetent, but rather that Windows is the way it is BY DESIGN! - which SHOULD concern you. For instance, did you know that there is a 'special' windows 11 that has been stripped down of all the BS routines that the commercial versions contain? Just try to get a hold of a copy of that version tho :) UNLESS, you're a certified member of one or more of the "Alphabet Soup" agencies. or similar private corporate entities, that rightfully refuse to put up with Microsoft's nonsense..
      I might also advise you that VERY SOON now, Windows is going to become a 'subscription' Op sys, where it's users will be carefully maneuvered into stepping on that forever pay treadmill just to be farmed /data mined/and marketed /influenced from childhood to senility. Not the controlled/manipulated, environment I and and multiple generations of like minded individuals, signed up to vigorously oppose. As a famous Hollywood Producer once opined..
      "Include me OUT" : Sam Goldwyn.
      But, at least for a little while longer, you can make your own choice :)

  • @katycatjulius

    Do note that sometimes pressings the shutdown button actually turns it into sleep mode, i don't know the specifics out of my head but there is a way to stop this from happening. Also an easy way to know how long your pc has been running is opening task manager by pressing on the left of keyboard ctr+shift+escape then go to the performance tab and then choose cpu, here it will show how long it has been running, if after turning on the computer it shows more than 10 minutes of running time then your pc probably didn't shutdown and went into sleep mode or something
