I couldn't agree more. I think it's because the post game is dead and gone. No inside out play anymore. It's just fog up 3s from 35 ft. I watch replays from this era all the time. This is when the "NBA was Fantastic!!!."
Was Barkley not an incredible player. Just watched him block Kareem's shot and then run the floor and finish on the other end. Incredible athlete who gave up a lot of inches but still dominated on the boards. Wow what a player.
Just seeing Barkley operate when he was young tells what kind of player he was. He came along when Moses and Doc were on their way out or that Sixers squad would have garnered another ring and maybe Barkley's only ring. Toney and Cheeks were old but still capable but its hard to replace Moses and Doc.
Plus Toney started having foot problems that eventually ended his career. Before those foot problems Andrew Toney was one of the best 2 guards in the league. If he had a couple more good years, he would've been a hall of famer. The Celtics called him the Boston strangler for a reason. That was one of the main reasons they traded for Dennis Johnson, to slow down Toney.
This is a year after former Sixers GM Pat Williams decimated the team sending away Malone and two first round picks to Bullets for a broken down Jeff Ruland and sent 1st round pick Brad Daugherty to the Cavs for Roy no one remembers me Hinson. Moses was far from retirement and Daugherty became an allstar Center for Cavs. Oh , what might have been for Sixers.
Thnks for your great uploads. If you have a game between Kareem and Ewing at the late 80's please upload. There is only one game Lakers-Knicks of that era
Worthy was just awesome in his prime. Loved watching him back then.
Barkley dunking over, outrebounding, and blocking Kareem, Worthy, AC Green, and Mychal Thompson. All guys much taller than Barkley. What a BEAST!
Why is this game more entertaining than what we see today? This was during a time when the league was its most popular

People know Barkley as some old chubby guy but he was absolutely unbelievable in his prime.
He was a top 3 player in the league from 88 to 93.
The BEAST CB#34
Showtime Lakers vs the Barkley Sixers. People forget how savage Barkley was on the court. Magic in his prime? None better. I miss this NBA
Prime Larry bird
@@davemartino5997Bird ain't dishing out no 18 assist 😂

Sir Charles!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Barkley had hops!!!!
When the NBA was the NBA.
Yup!!
This was when the NBA was at it's best and Kareem at his age was still a great player and Sir Charles didn't back down from anyone he was a beast!!
The good ole days. Basketball now is a crap.
Truly some great highlights in this. Barkley’s rebounding strength. Kareem’s low post hooks and even timely padding by guys like Rambis.

It’s wild to think Moses damn near had another decade in those legs!
Wow
Best NBA player to never win a ring.
0:45 Unfortunately that winning tradition would die on Barkley's watch 💯
true classic with true NBA legends...
Sir Charles was so Quick for a big man .
watching the highlights and you would've thought the Lakers won by 50.
Kareem with the nimble moves at 40.
Man, that's great stuff

Yeap... The kid from the movie Airplane was right
Rip moses Malone
76ers up 11 yet 80 percent of highlights are la lakers lol
I remember from when I was 13 years old that Barkley missed a free throw that would have won it at the end of regulation. What could have been.
would have been nice to see the attempt to win the game..

What's strange to me is hearing what sounds like Tom Heinsohn on the mic for a Lakers / Philadelphia game? Is that Heinsohn or am I mistaken?
Yes he is
Barkley on his prime will murder leBron.
It'd be brutal.
