Most of y'all don't realize that the center for Utah, Mark Eaton was 7 feet, 4 inches tall and he was a blocking machine. And there was Charles, dunking on him at a foot shorter than Eaton. Amazing
Congrats KM32 of 5yrs on here! I think what may go over most people's heads was how much of a freak Charles was too before his back gave out. Excellent post as usual.
Charles Barkley's fg% and 2pt fg% from 84 to 93 was Shaq like before Shaq. Only difference, Chuck was 6'4" 270. He played bigger than his height. Just imagine if he was a 7 footer. Also, if he was a gunner an attempted 25 shots a game, his average would've been jordan like easily. 60% from the floor and 25 a game in 1990, on only 15 attempts per game. He was different and I loved watching him growing up in Philly. He's my GOAT...
imagine todays open court to court game for prime Barkley..Zion might have a little better vertical but CB bravado and attitude is unbeatable..man was he savage on the rim and on pizzas!!!
@@powerboatguy2308 He was ultra thick though, w/ an ultra quick 2nd hop like Rodman. When he was motivated, he was better than Karl Malone in his prime. When not (all but 5 seasons), he wasn't.
@@arsonhakobyan I agree with that, he had to rely on athleticism, that is why we was not scoring 20+ in his later career, Zion might be Barkley 2.0, a little taller, better shape

The most skilled, versatile, and unique frontcourt player to have ever played basketball. As for the power forward debate: Barkley>Malone>Duncan>McHale
@@arsonhakobyan You don't win 5 championships without Hall of famers to be Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli. Both were top 5 players at their positions...It helped having hall of famer David Robinson's menacing defensive presence in the middle for 2 of those 5 titles.....I watched all their careers. Barkley didn't play with an elite point guard until he was slightly past his athletic peak when he arrived in Phoenix. Chuck, in his prime, would destroy Duncan on any day of the week. He would run the slow-footed Duncan's butt off the court.
@@matthewpersad2431 Tony Parker was a steady-good but not great point guard in my opinion. Did he threaten any assists titles? No. He was what the Spurs needed at that position for the umbrella sets that they run. He was ambidextrous, usually made decent decisions, had an okay shot, but I never felt he was a generational talent like Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, Steve Nash, Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, and that's just from his era. But it wasn't a point guard oriented offense that relied much on that. Manu Ginobili's the greatest Italian player in Spurs history, surpassed what Vinny Del Negro did, arguably the greatest flopper of his era, but he didn't have the fast twitch muscle fibers of a Kobe Bryant, to be able to take a game over. They'll both get in the HOF, but the HOFs kind of become watered down a bit in the NBA. Dennis Rodman made the HOF being statistically totally 1-dimensional. The Bulls & Pistons would have 5 less championships combined w/o him, but to me if Dennis is a HOFer, so is Horace Grant, who was just as important to the 1st 3peat as Rodman was to the 2nd.
Charles was unstoppable back in his sixers days
This is incredible. I always thought Phoenix Barkley was peak. This footage of him is crazy.

Best PF in history. The evaluation is simple: who is the most dominant PF in his prime?...Sir Charles Barkley. Period. Need no rings for that.
charles barkley is a beast back then

Wilt Chamberlain said that
Yeah he lied and said he took more shots than Duncan. He actually took one tenth less shots per game than Duncan and shot a significantly higher fg%.
They Say his weight in the Sixers years was 252 lbs
@@MJ-kj1eu Barkley's fg% was better than Shaq. Barkley had stats better than a lot of people that fans assume are better.

KarlMalowned32 congrats on 5 years. great vid on a great match up.
Charles all day
Malone was better than Chuck as an older player, but Chuck used to destroy Malone in his prime.
They went back-&-forth at each other in their primes. It wasn't 1-sided.
The Real Charles Barkley Before Injuries, Was Easily The Best PF That Ever Played The Game!
no such thing as positions
I tell people the same thing all the time...
This was peak Barkley. Not with the Suns, this!
Charles was a better player than Malone. I'll go to the grave with this opinion. Best at the power forward position I've ever seen.
Barkley is a person 😍🤩
Charles was a better young/prime PF, Malone was better older PF as Chuck got slowed with injuries.

karl malone: talent/skill > work ethic in the first 5 years, but as the body starts getting a little bit older, work ethic > talent/skill
Charles - the mutant - barkley 👽
Barkley owed malone this game & every game they played each other.

Charles was better

John Chester Yu Duncan the best. I’ll take Barkley then Malone . Then Garnett and Dirk
