I love the amount of comments saying Johnny would hate this when in game he actually likes them and sees them as talented and having potential lol. He even plays one of their songs in the Dev room.
While it's true that he likes Us Cracks' and sees potential in them I think he's actually just playing Kerry's song and that PONPON SHIT just samples Kerry's song

i truly believe that johnnys comment of them having "potential" is just his way of saying that they are sexy, i truly doubt he is actually praising their musical talent - in the game Us Cracks is your typical kpop band that looks good but has no actual musical talent, basically a product of the music industry nowadays
Kerry finding out the US cracks are actually fans of his and putting his opinions aside to talk to them is one of the best side stories in the game. It really showed that you can't judge artists based on their music. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean the artist is bad.

eh, it wasnt really the music, it was discovering that the people behind it got screwed by their label as much as him. he might dislike their music, and routinely alludes to that, but they seem to be fairly young and he thinks theyre genuine as people, which the rockerboy in him approves of.
The whole point of Kerry’s quest with US Cracks is that music is music and we shouldn’t be assholes just because a genre isn’t to our taste. Glad that flew over cyberpunk 2077 fans’ heads.

That was my thought, a lot of the lyrics for songs are simply nonsensical or the audio is very harsh sounding but that could honestly just be the trend in the 2070s. What Samurai and by extension Kerry play is basically classical music or early jazz relative to modern music

I love the amount of work that went into creating details like this. It is a gig that was probably missed by many people... And yet the devs spent time and money on adding a song that a player can hear on radio after its completion and feel he influenced the world.

Maybe they haven't advanced far enough into the game? Johnny at one point says something like "ugh, a lazerpop concert? Not that trash" (fyi, Us Cracks' genre is lazerpop). So at one point of the game Johnny does, in fact, hate lazerpop (and by extension, Us Cracks). That's why he later says something like "I've been listening to this, and I think that these girls have potential, to be the next age of rock" or something like that.
Oh, and bonus fact, him playing Pon-Pon Shit in the dev room shouldn't be taken as solid evidence for this, since first off, it's the dev room, a bona-fide easter egg and therefore not canon. Furthermore, those licks that he plays, are the same ones that NPCs play elsewhere in the world, I've heard Pon-Pon Shit in the Aldecaldos camp, not sure if anywhere else.
Im not sure if it's Stockholm syndrome but the more I listen to it the more I enjoy it.

Sooo... Are you guys being ironic or do you legit hate this song? Coz I think it's actually ok. Nonsensical lyrics is kinda Us Cracks's calling card as you can see in Pon Pon Shit and the music itself is actually pretty rad. Plus it's such an interesting combo - cutesy stuff with some good ol rock ;). And Eurodine seemed to enjoy the collab so I'd say it's a successful experiment.

While this is bad, it feels *exactly* plastic enough to make sense in Night City. Remember - this isn't music as in "something that means something to someone who's composed it", it's music as "something calculated by the record label to sell the biggest amount of copies possible in the city's cosmopolitan basin".
If you'd like a palate-cleanser that still leaves some room for the study of the legitimacy of idol groups, try out Babymetal or even Namakopuri's own output.
Namakopuri is so fun, glad the made some songs for the game - this Us Cracks plot was great!

This song is super rebellious, Us Cracks is originally could be called a kind of rebellious punk band which this case it's cyberpunk of course. With this song it seems they're trying to ramp up the level of rebellious that Us Cracks originally got with how Kerry got 'influenced' by Johny since forever. The message in this song is pretty much saying that the system can't keep up with them if we combind with background stories then it's like a hope for people in cyberpunk world.

Valid point. Babymetal is well respected among all big names in rock and metal because, despite their "silly gimmick" they're damn good performers. Suzuka - aka Su Metal - is pretty much a monster on vocals, one of the best female metal singers around.
