For you to understand: this album has been created after a series of events that affect the members of the band and also the fans, for example Jeremy leaving the band, Hayley finding out that her husband was cheated on her, Taylor almost carrying the band on his shoulders. The concept of the album is the reaction that people does after laughing. In Hayley's words: "After Laughter is about the look on people’s faces when they’re done laughing. If you watch somebody long enough, there’s always this look that comes across their face when they’re done smiling, and I always find it's really fascinating to wonder what it is that brought them back to reality. So, that’s what After Laughter is."
I'm sorry if there's any mistake in the redaction, I speak spanish

All you said is true, for all the people that hate this, this is like the best ever, but of course people has opinions, and the lyrics are so meaningful

Grudges was specifically about Hayley and Zac, about their reunion for this album after he and his brother left the band in 2010. They had a falling out which led to their departure, so for almost 7 years, Zac and Hayley barely spoke. "Grudges" is about putting their past aside and being friends again, like they used to be; how even if it's not the same kind of relationship as when they were kids, it's still a good thing ("I can feel that we've changed, but we're better this way."). The funny thing is that the song is about Zac, and the vocals in the bridge singing "Why did it take so long?" are Zac himself! :D He claims he reluctantly recorded them because Hayley made him, but he's also known for being a sarcastic jokester, so he probably was actually just fine doing it :)

Never clicked faster in my life :D
So glad you picked my (and others' obvs) recommendation first ^___^
After Laughter is basically melancholy wrapped in a false sense of liveliness and I love it so much.
    Paramore is life.

Sorry for the comment spam, but this is my favorite album of anyone, and it's so cool to see the reaction from someone who's never really heard any Paramore stuff!
Hayley is almost 29. The song 26 is named after the age she was in 2014, before Zac left, before the legal troubles, and before her divorce. Basically, the song is a letter to her younger self, telling herself "there's a lot of heartbreak coming up, so try and hold onto whatever hope you have, because you'll need it".

Oh, and you were spot on with the reason for the name After Laughter. Hayley said it was named after the moment right after someone's been laughing, when the joy leaves their face and you can see in their eyes that they've been brought back to cold, hard reality.

This album was my introduction to the band, too! I only had heard a couple of older tunes by them and this was super different from what I thought it would be! I loved it, though, and I'm definitely going to check out more of their work.
Btw I highly recommend you react to the new Tori Amos album, Native Invader!

Thanks for reacting to this! My album of the year.
Too bad Caught in the Middle is so tragically underrated by everyone. Most relatable song for me.
Also your thoughts on the themes of the album are spot on. If you're interested in some background of the album, I highly recommend watching the fantastic interview Paramore did with Zane Lowe. th-cam.com/video/C-Qb2qj58wQ/w-d-xo.html

That interview is definitely the best in terms of offering the most insight into the album. I learned so much from it (and they even admitted to some of the flaws I was worried about, and that self-awareness made those flaws seem much less important).

YAAAAAAS! tbh I'm really excited that you're reacting to music not just tv shows
For the future vids I'd recommend (if you haven't heard) "Melodrama" by Lorde, "hopeless fountain kingdom" by halsey and "Cry Baby" by Melanie Martinez

"Something's happened, shit's gone down." Absolutely! Some background you might want to know to clarify this: the lead singer, Hayley, dated the lead guitarist, Josh Farro, in 2007, and they had a pretty bad breakup. In 2010, that guitarist and his brother Zac, the drummer, left the band due to drama. In 2015, the bassist, Zac Davis, left the band; he then proceeded to sue Hayley for royalties that, according to his contract, he was never entitled to. The legal battle took its toll on everyone. Then, in July of this year, Hayley and her husband got divorced. Luckily, they convinced Zac to return to the band for this album, and supposedly those three (Hayley, Zac, and guitarist Taylor York) are friends again.
So, yes, they've been through an emotional shitstorm, and this album is all about pretending to be happy (or trying to be) when everything is going wrong. It's an album about depression and anxiety. Hayley even coined the tagline for it, "Cry hard, dance harder".
