I’m glad to say that my bf is getting where you are at terms of mindset over girls and music. He is also black and only listened to rap before he met me and he made fun of my music taste in the begin because I love Taylor and Olivia and now he gets it the more I play it the more hyped up he gets and he is learning the lyrics and everything and he understand girls a lot beter now he was a really bad guy and had a lot of one night stands and now he understands girls and how we feel about all this stuff and I told him to think about how it would be if a guy did all this stuff to his daughter later and he said it himself that he changed a lot

This album really heals something in me because I think as a teen girl you see love and sex as something you have to involve yourself in, even if your not ready, and its honestly heart breaking sometimes cause teenagers really know how to mess you up💔
Just to add… I’m now in my late 20s so I say this is healing because I’m way past that stage in my life (thankfully) and I never really got to think how messed up some of the things that happened were until this album 🙈

Idk if anyone has put the backstory in here but this album was about her ex Joshua basset and how he got with Sabrina carpenter two weeks after he broke up with Olivia and it was such a big thing. Sabrina actually made a song about this called “skin” and referenced it in “because I liked a boy” which you’ve already reacted to saying “I’m a home wrecker, I’m a slut, I’ve got death threats filling up semi trucks. Tell me who I am guess I don’t have a choice all because I liked a boy.” But yeah that’s a little bit of the backstory for this whole album.
