Teenage Engineering absolutely kills with products design. I want one for aethstics alone but its e-waste realistically. They also worked with panic to make the Playdate which I love.

I think they should make the R2 more powerful, give it an SD slot and headphone jack, and sell it like this to begin with. It would make for a pretty sick dumbphone or MP3 player

Not practical unless someone already has a Rabbit R1 with no other use for it, but also astonishing that a device barely larger than a smartwatch can do this.
I use it mainly for the translator application, it works great.

One of those things that, in 10 years, will be featured on 'failed handhelds' videos. I cannot think of a single reason why I would want to even consider spending $199 on this. A perfect example of how putting the latest fad term (AI) on something is easy marketing, even if little to no thought has actually gone into it.
Whilst it may have been designed by a teenage engineer, which will have it's own cute factor attached that may also become a marketing tool, I have to wonder why the adults in the room didn't stop them and redirect their design into something that would stand out from a very crowded market. There is some punch inside but what is outside just doesn't match up in any way, shape or form.
I could not even muster up enough interest to shell out even $50. I could get a Samsung Galaxy A12 or the Oppo A54, with the same SOC for around the same price.
