YESSS I’ve been vegan for 6.5 years and this is the first “vegan video” that is actually positive and doesn’t critique food just because it’s vegan but rather because you know certain things could be better while still being vegan. Can’t wait for the rest of the month!♥️ (if you can get your hands on “Just Egg” it’s pretty good)
i think someone already said this but i’d recommend throwing some more beans, chickpeas, tofu etc into your meals if you aren’t a big fan of fake meat so you don’t have a drop in your protein intake :)
You're not being a nuisance when you're out with friends and needing a vegan option...just like someone searching for an allergy-friendly meal isn't a nuisance.
@@MrsTeenagewiccan why the sad face? Shearing sheep doesn't hurt them anymore than cutting your hair hurts. Lanolin is taken from the sheared wool. Why is this sad?
@@thisorthat7626 even if it doesnt harm the sheep, some people simply don't want animals involved in their food! its also just a bit disturbing that so many ingredients could possibly have mysterious origins that you can't figure out just from looking at the ingredient list.
Thanks for your positivity! So nice to hear people enjoy veganuary. 8 years vegan and it was the best choice I ever made, I used to be a fussy eater but now I looooveee trying new foods thanks to Veganism 💕🌱💕 and yes VEGOOOOO is the best 🤤. If you miss egg try a savoury egg replacer, you can get some that make quiche and are soooo good! or scrambled silken tofu (not that similar to egg but if you put black salt on it (it’s sulphur tasting) it’s more similar). Love you xx
This is so awesome! Go Grace! You’re doing such a good job. I know we didn’t see all of your meals but don’t forget to add protein to your meals. If you don’t like fake meat you can always try beans, lentils, chickpeas, tofu or tempeh! Love your videos 💕
Proud of you for going on (what looks like) an overnight trip with your friend! I know that's challenging for you but putting yourself out there is going to make you stronger :) love you!
Great video! Loving the vegan content. I’ve been vegan for two years after doing Veganuary. I was vegetarian before that since I was 7. If you’re missing egg, try a scrambled tofu recipe. So good! Make sure to put in some black salt to get that eggy taste. Lots of turmeric, paprika, salt and pepper, and lots of ‘butter’. Enjoy 😉
Lots of people eat things in the morning that white British and some white Americans wouldn't think are breakfast-y. Like beans and tortilla, meat and cheese and vegetable, or olive oil, garlic, and tomato toast
I’m so jealous of how many restaurants and fast food places have vegan options! I live on the east coast of the US and it’s way harder to find vegan options
breakfast is my favourite meal of the day too for the exact same reasons - sweet or savoury, hot or cold. leftover cold pizza? acceptable to have for breakfast but not for dinner
So...my sister and I are a little obsessed with you and your videos. Tonight we spent the whole evening (totally randomly) talking about how much we want to eat kabanos, despite not having thought about them for years. End up watching this video and BAM...kabanos. We are shook.
Good job grackle! Im mainly plant based but i do still have milk cream and butter and use wool or second hand leather. Im mostly trying to work on sustainability and self sufficiency as well as health for me as an individual and for now thats what this looks like been a vego for about 5 ish years now and prior to that barely ate chicken breast let alone anything else so plant based seems to work best for me. I admire all the people who can commit to it and pave the way and make it easier for others as well. Its great that youre spreading awareness. Itd be cool if you did a week maybe the final week of vegan eating from scratch like no processed/packaged stuff or eating out but like making your oen vegan meals etc.
There actually is a vitamin that’s from sheep’s wool. It’s vitamin D3. By the way, I love you and you’re videos. You’re so down to earth, funny and I could watch you for hours. Feels like talking to a friend actually ☺️🙏🏻🕺🏼
D3 also comes from the sun. D3 occurs in animals usually and D2 occurs in plant based foods. I am massively deficient in both so I have to take a multivitamin
I've followed a vegan diet for seven years now and have tried so many vegan alternatives so have some advice for you. Vegan cheese typically is either great on crackers, or melted, I've not really found one that does both. Tyne Chease is the best I've tried for crackers so far, and Vegusto is the best for cooking with, Violife is also good melted. Nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to Follow Your Heart mayonnaise, it's the only vegan mayo that I actually like, you can get it from Sainsbury's. Linda McCartney makes the best vegan meat substitutes hands down, with the exception of Sainsbury's own brand shroom dogs. The vitamin I think you were referring to in cereals is D3, I remember it as "vitamin D3 isn't for me!" There are vegan options but most manufacturers change suppliers too often to know if they are using a vegan source. Lanolin is another weird one that you can find in bread and wraps that isn't vegan. Depending how extreme you want to go with it certain fruits and veggies are coated with shellac, personally I don't go that far. Finally re foods that look vegan but aren't labelled as such, lots of manufactures choose not to label vegan for allergen reasons, such as being made in the same factory as non vegan products. Sorry for the essay! Keep up the videos, I love them 💖
I would recommend the vivera bacon. I get it in Sainsbury’s but pretty sure it’s in other supermarkets too. It’s not like rashers but I usually use it in like a Mac and cheese or like on top of a salad. Not eaten meat for like 8 years (I think lost count haha) so not sure how accurate it is but I really like it! Love these vlogs because unlike other omnivores you’re just such a foodie and always have an open/positive mind about vegan food☺️
If you're missing eggs, try out a tofu scramble such as the one on the Hot for Food blog. I personally think it tastes better than eggs! Also, if you're missing bacon, try the Pig Out snacks from Outstanding Foods! I don't know if they're available in the UK though. Loved your video! Veganism has given me so much more than it has taken away. If you keep focusing on the reason why you're doing it, whether it's for animal ethics, your health, the environment, or another reason, it will help you sustain veganism long-term. Good luck with your Veganuary! Looks like you're off to a great start.
I loved this vlog. As a vegetarian i am so happy you pointed out all the new vegan foods that are out thank you! I would never have known about them if you hadn't mentioned it. If you miss bacon you could always give Quorn bacon a go.
There's a pasta sauce I make you could try with the fam. It's 1 onion, 1 red bell pepper, 1 green bell pepper, 2 garlic cloves minced, 1 can crushed tomatoes, 1 bunch parsley and 2 tbls olive oil. You chop all the veg, cook the onion/peppers down till they get soft, then add the garlic and let it bloom for a few min. add in the tomatoes and let it all simmer for about 40min-1hr. Then add the fresh parsley and some cooked pasta! It's delicious!
Violife vegan cheese is really good! Especially the Greek style one! I'm not vegan or doing veganuary but I just likw it because it's genuinely tasty. You are my favourite youtuber ever! Make me giggle always. 💕
Great video Grace! So genuine and honest! I can’t wait for more parts of it :) Are you also planning to watch some documentaries on veganism? There is definitely some with non-shocking imagery focusing on the environment etc (but also I guess shocking imagery shouldnt be avoided if it is the truth?) For eggs, you could try making scrambled tofu! I love that so much :) it’s not exactly the same but kind of satisfies the craving! And for bacon, there is definitely vegan bacon to buy out there, but if you dont like meat substitues that much (me neither btw) you could try find smoked tofu, cut it in thin strips and fry it with some salt and put that in a sandwich :) I love that!
Hey Grace! If you miss bacon, you have to try the THIS bacon, you can find it at Holland and Barrett, it's from a little startup from London and oh so good! Their chicken is insane too and they've started to tell their chicken nuggets at Patty & Bun and they're just insane! Hope this helps, keep up the great vids :)))
The Hellmans vegan mayo is by far the best mayo I've ever tried! Also the plant kitchen range from Marks and Spencer is amazing! Theres also a really good recipe on Jamie Olivers website for a sweet potato and spinach curry, its so delicious and a winner with my non vegan friends and fam :) really enjoyed this vlog xxx
Yasss we love a vegan supportive queen. Also I know someone else already said this but it is Vitamin D3 that is often (but not always) derived from sheep’s wool. And I would love this as a series !!!
Loved this video! The vitamin B6 from wool you mentioned was actually vitamin D which is often derived from lanolin (in sheeps wool) because its cheaper than plant versions. You just have to be mindful with added vitamins in fortified foods. You’re making a great effort though - much appreciated xx

Loved this video! I'm veggie and dairy free (so nearly vegan lol) and I feel like I eat the same stuff all the time so this is so helpful to get some new food ideas 💛
Good luck eating vegan this month ! Im a vegan and the hardest one to skip was cheese - but that you have already covered. Try making Saitan!! Its incredibly good when prepared well :-))
I’m vegetarian and I was actually surprised a few months ago to find out some cheeses aren’t vegetarian either! They use enzymes from the stomach lining of cows etc. in some cheeses and apparently they will purposely impregnate them in order for them to start producing the enzymes, then they’ll kill the calves :( some cheeses like Parmesan are vegetarian, and any cheese listed as kosher is vegetarian as well
Interesting video, Grace! Love to see you. What great video ideas you have!!🥣💕😘🙏🏻 You love olives, huh? Woo Hoo Vegan chocolate cake!🎂🍫😁 PS. When I saw you pick up the mayo, I was so scared! Ha ha
I can’t even begin to express how excited I got when I saw that you had kabanos.. like I’m (not fully, but my mums side of the family is) Polish (which is where they originated since they use Polish sausage meat) and literally no one out side of my family has ever heard of them let alone tried them..
For vegan roast dinner, i really like making a mushroom wellington or buying a vegan (says vegetarian on the packet) Linda McCartney's Vegetarian Country Pies. They are seriously the best to have as a substitute, honestly love them 💕
Vitamin D2 if an oil from wool that is common in cereal xx but I’m still so impressed on how well u did and u only made a few mistakes which is expected when anyone tries something new Xx well done
For cakes/treats you could try the brand Oggs (Sainsburys) they have four different types: zesty lemon, salted caramel, chocolate fudge and mini vanilla. You should do a taste test! 💕
oh sweetie!!! your doing vegan and i so hope you stay with it. bless your heart. i have been veg for many years and have gone to vegan for the last handful of years. im an ethical vegan, also the health and environmental concerns. it is so worth Gracie, i hope you get in touch if you ever need any ideas, help or support from your new vegan granny, yep and old hippie living in the hippie neighborhood of ocean beach/san diego. try to find some of the substitutes, Gardien frozen foods makes great vegan foods, such as beefless patties, the best, fishless filets, mandarin crispy chicken. not all companies do well and some food are better than others. watch forks over knives on netflicks. hugs across the miles!!!
A fun alternative to meat is seitan! You can make it yourself out of wheat gluten, it's a fun cooking project! My favourite beginner recipe is the 'chickwheat' by Avocados and Ales. That blog also has a cool vegan turkey leg recipe.
Graceee!!! You need to try the This isn’t bacon, you can get it from Holland and Barret or Waitrose I believe. But it’s absolutely amazing and definitely satisfies the bacon cravings. ❤️
Been vegan (mostly) since September and omg those Belvita things are amaaaazing!! Also recommend trying Vivera Bacon and This Isn't Bacon they're my favourite bacon substitutes. Alsooo I'm not a massive fan of shop bought vegan cheese unless it's melted but I love making vegan cheese sauces with cashews and nutritional yeast that's a real good time
I just discovered Grackle last month and absolutely fell in love. I really enjoy watching your videos and get a kick out of you. Know you have a new fan in the PNW. 😻
The vegan berry croissant from Pret tastes like a mini berry strudel, it's kind of fantastic. Also the coconut and vanilla latte with an extra shot of vanilla from costa is so good!
Its so refreshing to see someone so excited about Veganuary. You should try "This isn't Bacon" (vegan bacon) from Holland and Barret. As a long-time veggie, I haven't brought myself to try it yet but I am Intrigued.
Whenever I feel uncomfortable asking other people to help accomodate my veganism, reminding myself of the bigger picture definitely helps give me the courage to do it -- I think about why being vegan matters so much to me and the planet, and that I want to be a part of helping it :)
Hi I recently found your channel and I am really enjoying it! I am thinking of going vegan for a month ... but maybe in March lol I’m always way behind everyone haha 😂 great video and hope you are enjoying your new year so far 😁
The trickiest part of being vegan is finding protein!! (These are muscle building nutrients also found in CHICKEN, PORK SHRIMP, ETC) but I think buying it separately helped me w making everything healthy as vegan!
Anyone else find it a bit hilarious when Grace is trying something and on screen she has mixed or bad feelings about it, however on the screen she says she really like it? The fact that she changed her mind like after she eats or something... she cracks me up!
Hey, love your vlogs, I am coeliac and so easy to eat gluten free now, but would be interesting to see you try eating as as coeliac.ie no cross contamination of food that can cause coeliacs to be very poorly..having to watch how things are cooked, shared pots and pans and toasters etc...eating out..miss Jesse too by the way..hope he is doing ok...lots of love..Lou xx
thanks Grace for doing it right! I'm sick of people trying veganism and not actually researching anything and eating so badly they end up hungry, frustrated and polly
The chocolates and pastries looked so good-- it's so fun to see all the different vegan options you have in your area!! If you are looking for any recipes-- I have a bunch on my channel!!
you Brits should really appreciate how you have veggie and vegan option everywhere. It's much harder to find things in Germany. When I first went to Britain I was so overwhelmed by my choices because I was used to just having two items max in a menu (if I was lucky)
I would say though if you want to stay away from mock meats at home YOU MUST EAT BEANS OR LENTILS !!! I saw a few of your meals were just 100% which is okay short term but will really make you lack protein . Just a little note from a long term vegan . There’s tons of vegan bacon alternatives and recipes hun! Google it ! They’re literally tons and tons of ways to make bacon vegan 💖I love that your doing this series and your so open to it ! Love it ! Love you! Your awesome !

I’m vegetarian and I was actually surprised a few months ago to find out some cheeses aren’t vegetarian either! They use enzymes from the stomach lining of cows etc. in some cheeses and apparently they will purposely impregnate them in order for them to start producing the enzymes, then they’ll kill the calves :( some cheeses like Parmesan are vegetarian, and any cheese listed as kosher is vegetarian as well
Awesome long video 😍 Defo up for the series idea too 😁 Thanks Beaut xxx
WHY did i not know you and taz were friends!?? ive been watching taz for like over a year now 😅
Interesting video, Grace! Love to see you. What great video ideas you have!!🥣💕😘🙏🏻 You love olives, huh? Woo Hoo Vegan chocolate cake!🎂🍫😁 PS. When I saw you pick up the mayo, I was so scared! Ha ha
Ahhh please a part two😍😍😍 anazing Video as always!!!!
They are seriously the best to have as a substitute, honestly love them 💕
YESS! I’ve been vegan for a year and a bit and I’m so excited your doing this🙌
Vitamin D2 if an oil from wool that is common in cereal xx but I’m still so impressed on how well u did and u only made a few mistakes which is expected when anyone tries something new Xx well done
Alsooo I'm not a massive fan of shop bought vegan cheese unless it's melted but I love making vegan cheese sauces with cashews and nutritional yeast that's a real good time
Yes to a series; love all the vegan content! Also for cheese try either Violife greek blok or Simply B slices!
The Greek block is the best!
I am SO happy I found your channel, been watching nothing else for the past months.
I just discovered Grackle last month and absolutely fell in love. I really enjoy watching your videos and get a kick out of you. Know you have a new fan in the PNW. 😻
I have subscribed for a while and after one vid i was hooked aswell
Grace when I watch your videos I feel so much happier Thanks for always putting a smile on my face I love u so much beautiful
No Moo would be a wonderful name idea for a vegan chocolate bar! Good thinking Grace!
Taz and Grace was a collab i didn’t know i needed but now i know it’s here i’m ready
The chocolates and pastries looked so good-- it's so fun to see all the different vegan options you have in your area!! If you are looking for any recipes-- I have a bunch on my channel!!
I would love a series! I love your vegan videos!
you Brits should really appreciate how you have veggie and vegan option everywhere. It's much harder to find things in Germany. When I first went to Britain I was so overwhelmed by my choices because I was used to just having two items max in a menu (if I was lucky)
So jelly!! You have sooooo many vegan options at fast food and restaurants !
