just like "THE omnivorous!" isnt filled or lacking protein the vegan diet is nothing you can generalize. if i eat intuitively i eat too little protein. i eat carbs and veggies. thats my thing. you have to try harder if you are vegan because vegan foods do in general contain less protein than animal based foods. thats a fact. im not trying to make a case for a omnivorous diet!!!!! i just dislike people misrepresenting facts. whereas it is easily possible to get enough protein on a vegan diet it is unargueably harder to do so and requires more planning.

Ali When I was a vegan (2008-2011) there was no dairy free ice cream available to me and everything was at least 4x as much money as it is now. Going out to dinner? Forget about it! They didn’t even know whether their chips were vegan. Good shoes without leather in them? Nope, they’ll fall apart after one puddle. You are lucky for the surge in vegan products. Be grateful.

I’ve been vegetarian transitioning into vegan for about a month now! We didn’t go full vegan because I didn’t want to waste products we already purchased and opened with dairy in it, so we finished those up. It’s much easier than I expected and I truly enjoy it. I’ve even lost some weight, so that’s been nice! Gardien makes awesome vegan chicken tenders which helped me transition without missing chicken so much. I love the point you make, if everyone even did one meal a day without animal products it would be a great impact. Great video :)
Changing your diet can often effect your bowels because it’s something new to your body and it’s just trying to get in the flow of your new diet. I remember it happening to me when I went vegetarian 🌱
The egg mystery is about to be solved for you🕵🏻♀️ basically, the condensed version is - the chickens do naturally produce eggs, but if they aren’t fertilised then the chicken themselves will eat the egg to ensure their calcium levels are sufficient. Chickens that have the eggs taken away will lay more than those that are able to consume their eggs. Hope this helps✌🏻
Also chickens have been gradually breed and in some cases genetically engineered to lay so many. Wild chickens like all birds only lay eggs once a year, enough for a nest. They raise their young before repeating next breeding season.
I have been itching to go vegan for a while now so a perfectly timed video for me! haven't watched yet (obvs) but excited to see if it'll push me over the line or not!
As someone commented above, you may find it easier to research non meat proteins and build on them rather than "faking" dishes that are traditionally meat based. For me, African-, Asian-, and American-ethnic (as opposed to Euroethnic) cuisines are easier because they tend to be less meat dependent to start with.

It's so easy to make a bacon (facon) substitute that actually works! Some ingredients might sound strange, but they're literally available in larger shops. 400g firm Tofu or soy chunks, diced into any kind of shape you want 5 tbsp nutritional yeast, 2 tbsp soy sauce 2 ts liquid smoke (add 1ts garlic powder, 1ts smoked paprika and dash of ketchup for more taste) fry the tofu or soy chunks, mix the sauce, pour the sauce over, cook it until it's evaporated, then voilaaa amazing facon.

If your struggling Craving Cheese: You can blend dry nuts with nutritional yeast to make vegan parmesan Milk sub: You can obviously buy almond milk but you can soak cashews for some hours and blend it up some tips: if it says "may contain ...." don't have because the product was made in the place that makes the may contain food. @@bossbanks7719 it's some kind of gingerbread, but very soft. It's filled with apricot jam and covered in chocolate.
you said you eat vegan out and about a lot so i was wondering of you can do an out and about video of vegan fast food and stuff cos im really interested
lucky my guy I made a video about this already on my channel :)
NolanDolan literally nearly everything on taco bell’s menu if u get beans and make it fresco
I also found that when I went veggie I really started experimenting more! It started when I didn't buy meat at uni because I was saving £££ but then I found I loved cooking and not relying on meat! I won't go vegan (yet) because of my eating disorder but I might try a week of it like this when I get a bit better!
Nuala J hi!!! i recommend watching the video “the best speech ever” by gary yourofsky on youtube! it helped me go vegan and it is very thought provoking :) i went vegan 8 years ago and it was one of the best decisions of my life!!!
good luck on your journey love 🦋✨🌈 blessings x
Good luck with your journey, I think you're right not to do it just now, always put health first ♡
Not trying to force you to veganism, I’m not even vegan myself, just vegetarian, but I’ve seen a lot of ppl that had a eating disorder and recovered with veganism. So to try it at least a week could for sure help you :)
LittleRockQueen14 yes !! I had an ED and going vegan really helped. I do think it is a great idea to try first.
@@LittleRockQueen14 they've already said it would be damaging for them, why pressure them?
grace! when i went vegan, my bowels went through a similar thing. i can PROMISE you that once that short stage is over, you feel SO good
mik same!!!
Same!
It also helps to slowly increase bean portions instead of fully going in without giving the gut time to adjust.
It’s a common misconception but the vegan diet is filled with protein!
just like "THE omnivorous!" isnt filled or lacking protein the vegan diet is nothing you can generalize. if i eat intuitively i eat too little protein. i eat carbs and veggies. thats my thing. you have to try harder if you are vegan because vegan foods do in general contain less protein than animal based foods. thats a fact. im not trying to make a case for a omnivorous diet!!!!! i just dislike people misrepresenting facts. whereas it is easily possible to get enough protein on a vegan diet it is unargueably harder to do so and requires more planning.
On the subject of eggs I enjoy the idea that if you know the hens personally then don't waste eggs that will otherwise be unused 🥰🐔🥚
Don't waste them feed then back to the chickens it's a good cause of calcium for them:)
The hens get plenty calcium from their diet and get the shells back while I enjoy the eggs, works out well for us all 🙂
MetallisoN a lot of hens actually like to eat their own eggs for nutrition :) if they don’t eat them then of course take them but most of the time they will eat it !
To be fair to the hens it's my garden, my rules. I'm neither veggie nor vegan but I only have eggs from my own cared for chucks
I have rescue hens that won't eat their eggs they just leave them to rot, I don't eat their eggs I give them away but I would still consider myself vegan if I did because there's no exploitation
Erin: THATS NOT VEGAN
joe g LOL SIS WAS SO GODDAMN ANNOYING
These jokes stopped being funny as soon as the next vid came out and people were still commenting it, but it’s actually funny to see it here lmao someone who is doing it right
Yes it is.....? Frankly, I could never go vegan. I love eggs and sushi too much! Spicy salmon rolls are just too good
You should try giving up plastic for a week!
That's what I thought when I saw all the plastic in her haul from Aldi
That would be so hard!😱

They’re releasing vegan galaxy chocolate bars in a few days!😍
Eleanor Miles but they’re £3! 😭 I wish they were more affordable. Hopefully they will do an introductory offer. 🤞
I know I’m actually fuming at how much more expensive vegan alternatives are- (like Ben and Jerry’s as well) 😭
Ali
When I was a vegan (2008-2011) there was no dairy free ice cream available to me and everything was at least 4x as much money as it is now. Going out to dinner? Forget about it! They didn’t even know whether their chips were vegan. Good shoes without leather in them? Nope, they’ll fall apart after one puddle.
You are lucky for the surge in vegan products. Be grateful.
KSR hm and? people are still allowed to complain £3 for a chocolate bar is extremely expensive and not everyone can afford that...it’s not because we have more options that we can’t complain about stuffs
Eleanor Miles NO. FREAKING. WAY.
Chickens eat their own eggs? 😦 I'm shook.
Also chickens have been gradually breed and in some cases genetically engineered to lay so many. Wild chickens like all birds only lay eggs once a year, enough for a nest. They raise their young before repeating next breeding season.
The warm, half-drunk coke on the shelf is so triggering
idk why but this comment made me laugh so hard
But it's best flat
@@saoirse7128 what the hell. Thats the most disturbing thing i read all year
I have been itching to go vegan for a while now so a perfectly timed video for me! haven't watched yet (obvs) but excited to see if it'll push me over the line or not!
Even if you don't go fully vegan you can always just take things away slowly
Go girl 🤗🤗🤗
As someone commented above, you may find it easier to research non meat proteins and build on them rather than "faking" dishes that are traditionally meat based. For me, African-, Asian-, and American-ethnic (as opposed to Euroethnic) cuisines are easier because they tend to be less meat dependent to start with.

Just so naturally pretty!

The face u made when u ate that chip at 9:26 was priceless😂
i love that she really tries, not like other youtubers she did put effort🥺💘
Im new to this lovely girls channel. I like how down to earth and relatable she seems to be. Is that the point of why most are here or have I missed something more? As I say, she's really nice. :)
Yep, that’s why. Grace has a simply beautiful and pure spirit. She’s kind and thoughtful, considerate of her viewers without ever making a fuss about herself. She doesn’t do stuff for clout and comes up with tons of original ideas. I’m 39 but I just love her. She gives me a bit of hope, as stupid as that sounds. Her family is pretty great too. Stick around and explore her channel, you’ll grow to love her too😃

I love that grace does a week of these videos rather than "24 hours as a vegan lol xoxoxox" because you truly can't understanding a way of living unless you do it for a while! Love a dedicated queen
I feel like I gradually went vegetarian and then vegan without even realising it happening and now eating meat would feel sooooo alien
The Apple danish from coughlans is LIFE CHANGING (the apricot croissant warmed up is also amazing)
Bless you, you had so many temptations in your way throughout this week, but well done for resisting!! 🙌🙌🙌
It's so easy to make a bacon (facon) substitute that actually works! Some ingredients might sound strange, but they're literally available in larger shops.
400g firm Tofu or soy chunks, diced into any kind of shape you want
5 tbsp nutritional yeast,
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 ts liquid smoke
(add 1ts garlic powder, 1ts smoked paprika and dash of ketchup for more taste)
fry the tofu or soy chunks, mix the sauce, pour the sauce over, cook it until it's evaporated, then voilaaa amazing facon.
I discovered your channel on Tuesday and I cannot stop binge watching your videos. You are so funny
Grace, as one of your Italian viewers, when I saw you putting the tagliatelle and mushroom all together in the pot I literally gasped at the sight of it!
A side parting would SO suit you!!! Your hair while you were making the waffles was *very* cute even though it was clearly "just got out of bed" hair!
It also helps to slowly increase bean portions/intake instead of fully going in without giving the gut time to adjust.
I totally agree with you about the vegetable deluxe burger from mcdonald's! I used to love the veggie burger but since they've changed it to the goujons, it doesn't taste the same.
You can swap the lea and perrins for balsamic vinegar its just as nice ❤
You have got to label your food - Ross learnt that the hard way...
I found your channel a week ago and I literally love you so much! I think you’re so hilarious and fun to watch
All your videos are amazing...
Had a horrible day today. From start to finish, it’s just been manic and emotionally exhausting. However, your videos literally feel like a step back from everything. Your personality is so light and genuine. Thanks for being you x
I DESPERATELY NEED THIS RECIPE FOR MUSHROOM PESTO RICE and also your family's tomato pasta sauce!! I love you Grackle 🖤 your videos always help cheer me up when I've had a bad day at work
Love this so much! Ive been vegan for 10 years and its been such a wonderful journey for me! So lovely to see you trying it out
25 whole minutes of Grack goodness?? It’s a yes from me
The fact that your fam is supportive of your vids and are (almost) always making appearances in them makes me so happy! It makes me feel like I’m living at home with all my siblings again. Miss that atmosphere! You’ve got a cozy channel Grace
What is a “goshon” when you were talking about the McDonald’s lol
A goujon is like a strip of breaded/battered something. Eg. A chicken goujon is like a long, thin chicken nugget. I think it's the shape. I hope that makes sense! :)
Chicken fingers, chicken tenders, goujon - all basically the same thing just might be size variation and obvs in this case vegan
@@JB-vd8bi What is it made from, soy?
@@not_that_kathy I'm not 100% sure on those ones. You can get soy ones, Quorn ones - neither of those agree with me. I go for bean or chickpea based ones
Kathy K I think the McDonald’s ones are filled w veggies, sweet corn carrots etc. They do spicy vegan ones too
Aldi is the bomb for cheap vegan /veg grocery shops 😊 especially if you're living in Central London with only tesco metros and waitrose around.
Three video's in three days, amazing! :D
Some sugar is not vegan but I think there's a way to find it if it's vegan or not but I forgot. If your struggling
Craving Cheese:
You can blend dry nuts with nutritional yeast to make vegan parmesan
Milk sub:
You can obviously buy almond milk but you can soak cashews for some hours and blend it up
some tips:
if it says "may contain ...." don't have because the product was made in the place that makes the may contain food. (For example donuts may contain nuts. Which means that donuts were made in a nut factories which could have traces of that nut)
Good for you Grace! I've been "plant-based" for about 9 months now and it is so refreshing to see someone take it seriously, animal agriculture is certainly a huge contributing factor to our climate crisis - so even sometimes going vegan helps! :) Also! How did you get that much food for only 22 pounds?! I feel like here in the US I would get all that for like 50$!
L C ALDI is a great job for shopping on the budget! You could do a whole house shop for only £50

Every time watching vlogs from counties like USA or UK and others i feel so jealous about how many options do u guys have in markets, while in my country there are not so many options of food, especially vegan food.
What’s the recipe for the mushroom dish? The one your gran uses? Looks yum

omg someone gets it
great video! you are so entertaining which makes the video so enjoyable. quick question, does your dad wear his Liverpool shirts on match days only or are there part of his regular wardrobe? I‘ve seen him wear different once in different vids now 😅😅

Been trying to get used to a plant based diet over the past month (I do have 1 day a week for non vegan things at the moment whilst getting used to it, I figure 6 out of 7 is better than none) and I NEEDED this video
Video idea: wearing outfits my family have picked for a week
My fave youtuber 👍. Your videos never fail to cheer me up, Grackle. Thanks for the smiles 🤗😊
You know, you can actually do quite a lot of good by just “dabbling” in veganism. If everyone gave up eating meat for just a few days a week the good that it would do for animals and the environment would be incredible.
The fibre issue tends to calm down pretty quickly. The first few weeks are the worst but your body gets used to it.
Julien Solomita has some vegan recipe videos on his channel! I think he gets a lot of the recipes from hotforfoodblog.com, but definitely watch his videos anyways!
Use sea salt instead of regular salt to eliminate any spots. Will probably need to try it for more than 5 days to get a good effect.
Loved the Gemma Collins impression 😂😂😂😂
I've been binge watching your videos all day. Love you and your videos Grackle. 💜💜
Omg my favourite meal my mum makes is salmon coated in homemade pesto and breadcrumbs!!
It was actually quite good timing that you posted this because we had a big vegan discussion in my English Language class today at college and everyone was really excepting of me being vegan in the end. I get scared to tell people because I don't want them to like make just stupid jokes that I've heard a million times before and I feel like people won't want to friends with me. Also some of them had a bad opinion on vegans because they thought I would try and force my diet on them but in the end they realised that even if you can't be fully vegan then a one meal here and there will make a big difference just like you said 🌻🌻Btw I love when you try eating like a vegan and you aren't negative about it👍🏼

i've never met anyone else who puts worcestershire sauce in their pasta! we love putting worcestershire and soy sauce along with the usual italian herbs and garlic into our pasta, it makes so much of a difference
Grace you broke my heart saying there isn't as much protein 😩
She's right. Plant proteins are not complete and less digestible.
This is scientifically true; lacking important amino acids plus many people can have absorption problems. Vegan products are packed full of salt, sugar and questionable oils. I find it mildly humorous that vegans use "fake meat" products loaded with soy...
S L thank you for this comment. So much "crap" food even though it's vegan, it's like they're only focused on the "No meat" but forget about nutrition in general. The beyond products are just filled with bs and new studies have shown that they contain ingredients linked to causing cancer.
But there isn’t 🤷🏻♀️
@@zofianderzzon There is a lot of vegan junk food but nobody eats actual beef burgers for health reasons either. Pretty sure red meat has also been linked to cancer so I guess the beyond burgers are similar in that way too!
