      i left UK, i was an ardent socialist, i changed from the left due to the Pakistani child grooming (rape) gangs and the labour coverup of it. (read Maggie Olivers book). Any party which puts ideology ahead of children's innocence should be voted out, and anyone who votes for them, needs to fundamentally question their ethics and morality.

      I think it's a long way out, but we will have to see. Vance is saying the right things, but ultimately he was picked because he's not Mike Pence. He might make a name of himself over the next 4 years if they win, but like Nigel said, Trump has 3000 people lined up to run the country, so it's not as if it's slim pickings to choose a successor.

    I am not so sure... This was entertaining to a degree. Nigel seems to have taken his foot off the domestic politics pedal, since he finally got elected. Back peddling on deportations and boastful about celebrity phone numbers. What about the people of Clacton, the platform that got him here. There is a lot of criticism of Starmer for being overseas too much. Nigel needs to get the balance right or it will all come tumbling down for him, as a local MP and therefore leader, at the next election.

    The subject of parents was only briefly touched upon, with Mr Farage saying that issues with American youth (drugs, addiction, crime and homelessness) are far worse in the US than they are in England. But neither Kamala Harris or Donald Trump have spent much time addressing these issues, with Harris fully supporting cannabis legalization and Trump just shrugging his shoulders and leaving it up to the states. I don't think either candidate really understands the devastation that cannabis has caused on youth, as it is now so strong in THC, the psychoactive chemical, that it causes psychosis, and with prolonged use, schizophrenia (please see the study by Danish researchers published in 2023). Research also finds that most current addicts who are homeless started their Meth, Fentanyl or Heroin habits with cannabis when they were teenagers. American, or legal resident parents like myself feel that our children have been "stolen" from us when they are technically adult, but still biologically vulnerable, but little media coverage is given to these parents, probably because the media themselves are composed of single, gay or childless reporters. If Trump wants the vote of parents, why doesn't he come out and say that he has read the research, understands the problem and will do something to turn it around?

    • @rolinti9146

      legalising cannabis would make it much easier to regulate it - i was sympathetic to your argument until you went on a weird tangent making wild claims with no evidence about the family lives of journalists that just sounded like a conspiracy theory

    • @summerofplums
      @summerofplums 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@rolinti9146 I'm sure people can check the facts - for example, the Danish study is published in Scientific American, and distinguish them from my TH-cam banter before forming their own conclusions. As for regulation, I agree that legalizing cannabis might have some benefit in that it would make it easier for users or families to sue dispensaries if their products had harmful effects. The so called dispensary doctors at these dispensaries who "prescribe" Medical Marijuana to under 21 yr olds could also be sued for Medical Malpractice, just like regular doctors are held responsible for any patient harm.
