Always admired him and especially in the days of Sam who went down and dies way too early of bowel cancer. Sam and I were both victims of the same disease and we were in regular contact. My cancer discovered slightly earlier stage and I’m still her after 3 separate bouts and some major surgery. Governments have been trying and succeeding in destroying Pubs and Working Mens clubs all of my life , and I am 84. Tax upon Tax , a burden most retiree's cannot afford. How much of the agenda has been pushed by the NHS , with constant claims of cancer , brain shrinkage etc. Speaking as an old guy , what is worse , dying alone and being bored to death , or having a midday pint and and a game of cribbage. That question as most of that type will not be answered.

Interesting interview, especially his views on Gerald Batten. Gerald Batten was a man of the people, the voice of the people when he was leader of UKIP. I joined UKIP after Gerald Batten because I really liked the integrity and open heartedness of Gerald. When Nigel, the media and some people in UKIP stood against Gerald, I stayed. Then when they stood against the new leader Richard, after that, enough of UKIP, and left. A lot of other people left at that time too including people that were running branches.

@@gawaintowler Gerald was embracing young men that were and are still fighting to defend our freedom of speech and culture. If Nigel can't say anything nice about Reform voters than he should keep his mouth shut and stop standing against those that defend our freedoms. Many of us were on social media before anyone had heard of Farage. I and others were pushing out his video clips from the EU parliament from 2007 onwards. Those clips were being viewed by people from many different countries including America. There is a much bigger picture. I've been defending freedom of speech on-line for 25 years.

I had some time for Gerald, and I think he was right to support Tommy, speak out against Islamisation and also he made a good point about the nature of the economy that the UK has - what with Labour just favouring the public sector, the Tories just favouring the big multi nationals and no one supporting the small business sector - but unfortunately I departed company when he supported Israel come 7th October.

interesting, it is rare to hear a politician speak so frankly and with integrity. I think this interview should be shown more widely, it might restore people's faith in politics .
