Unfortunately, from what I've read, that seems to be fairly common in cases like this. The abuser degrades the victim to the point of (whether knowingly or unknowingly) the victim believing that they don't deserve anything better. Sometimes to the point of them believing that they deserve the abuse. It isn't until the abuser starts going after someone else that they realize the truth. They don't deserve the abuse, the abuser is the one at fault.

Women who have been victimized by their long term partners tend to do that. And Stephanie has one thing wrong.. it's not that this girl had such sunny disposition that people wouldn't even think she's being abused, it's that they didn't care, not really, because it's to some point expected "to put women in their place" there. Her being so sweet, kind, gentle, even "joyful" is something you will see in other women (not all) who have been abused by their boyfriend's/husband's. I cried hearing the leaked conversation between Tzuyang and PD Cham after listening the audio of her being abused. that PD really was the only gentleman in the whole situation
I have followed Tzuyang for years. I have always loved her videos. I feel so terrible that I was unwittingly supporting her being abused. She has always been so sweet and has so much support. The poor woman.
As an abuse victim myself, it was so horrifying hearing the audio of her screaming. She’s one of my favorite TH-camrs and I never in a million years would’ve guessed she was being abused. She has such a pure soul too, she would make me smile when I was going through my situation too. I send all my blessings to her and thank you Steph for covering this!💕
My brother was abusive, but hearing Stephanie's husband get mad about the victim really got to me - it's the kind of moral compass everyone should have. That healed my inner child a bit 😭💕
My brother was also abusive, nice seeing someone else acknowledge this cause sometimes it feels not real cause no one talks about sibling abuse Sorry you went through that❤
My brother was abusive too! I’ve never heard anyone else say they were abused by their sibling in my life and hearing this makes me feel so much less alone and crazy
I cant stand that country anymore. Its so disgusting that people will still attack the victim instead of the ones that are guilty. The more you revealed the case the more I was disgusted. Great video.
More probably because he knew he would have to acknowledge that he was scum of the earth. It's one thing to mildly acknowledge you are yourself a shit stain... but millions of people confirming your existence as a shit stain? It's inescapable. You can't pretend the smell isn't there.
So thankful for Cham PD and Tzuyang’s team. Her staff were with her through all her pain, didn’t leave when things got rough and helped her find the strength to fight this horrible man. They were and are her support system 💜
This makes me so sad she was broadcasted all around the world and we knew nothing but we watched her everyday 😓 Makes you wonder how many others are forced to sit in front of a camera…
I have been watching her for years, my heart broke when I found out about her being abused. I watch her when I eat when I’m alone. You’re right about her seeming sweet and enjoying the food and the people she’s around. I think people just didn’t want the worst to be happening to her, couldn’t imagine someone hurting her or wanting to do that. It hurts to know that something that brought so many people comfort and pleasure was hurting her so deeply. 💔
영상을 제작하여 주셔서 감사합니다. Misogyny and oppression of women are big problems in Korean society. Most Korean men are sensitive and negative about siding with women. People should think seriously about this problem. Thank you for making this video for many people to know
Thank you for covering this in depth. Tzuyang released another video and some korean men are still commenting unspeakable things about her. In our country a woman gets killed in relationship every three days and the perpetrators don’t face justice. As well as with Tzuyang’s case I hope more people would become aware that serious crimes targeted at their girlfriends by men have increased drastically and many women are literally scared for their lives Korea.
So glad you covered this. When i saw her videos and lives come on i had no idea what was happening. Just was worried for her. Glad to have context and really hoping she is able to find peace.
I listened the podcast. And I was genuinely disgusted at how everybody only thought of what they can gain from this situation. God Bless her crew for sticking up for her. This lawyer will have a very special place in hell. I don’t even think that the devil would want him into his realm to be honest
This situation was extremely confusing! So thank you Stephanie and the rotten mango team. It is so disgusting that they thought it was a good idea to black mail her.
Being in an abusive relationship is so very isolating because no matter how much you’re loved you can’t truly feel it because you feel like you’re living a lie to them and not able to express you’re true self. I’m crying for her right now- she is not alone. My children brought her to my attention because they were worried about her arms, and they knew I had a similar past. Thank you for doing an excellent job and exposing everyone.
It's so hypothetical seeing how South Koreans always make a big deal if person was a bully in school yet they be bullying and extorting each other as adults like its socially acceptable. I'll never get over this fact 💀 do they really think bullying stops when you become an adult?
For people who say, "Why didn't she file a criminal complaint before this even escalated?" Have you not seen the covers on how the law and the police in SoKor do not favor the women there? She had nothing. Who would help her? The only reason she's getting help right now is because she's Tzuyang.
THIS, a Lot of women there doesn't try to come out with their stories because they knew how women got ignored especially in patriarchal country like SK. I even read as of recently there's a some of S.korean netizen called her a "sl*t" and thinking that she's doing this for attention etc.
the only reason she had the chance to see the light of day is because she is the number 1 youtuber on SK she literally work her way to the top just to survive if she reported it any sooner before her career peaked, she already disappeared
tzuyang had just released a final explanation video, and it’s subbed in english and it was horrifying. there was a recording and transcription of her being SAd, so please please watch with caution. it’s incredibly triggering. her ex and her ex’s attorney were COLLABORATING so that they could evade taxes. all of them are shit. One thing that struck to me the most about the vid, is when Tzuyang said to her ex while being physically assaulted, “Aren’t I amazing? I used to shiver in fear after you beat me up, but now I can even talk back to you after you hit me like nothing happened.”
It was so horrible. I was not ready to hear all of the recordings. 5 minutes in and I already feel like puking. She’s really strong and brave. I’m happy she’s alive and I hope she heals.
@@janesmith2883 not sure if you can read korean but the transcript of the recordings was even more sickening. they didn’t sub the whole thing and i’m honestly glad they didn’t.
The amount of times I’ve heard the word “Blackmailing” and “blackmail” is astronomical. This situation is truly disgusting for Tzuyang, especially with the ex-boyfriend’s attorney blackmailing her. For god’s sake give her a break.
i love how your husband continually and dependably reacts like a completely normal human being to absolutely fucked up situations. its refreshing, and i'm so glad he's part of your show. stay pure at heart, bro!
The fact that she became desensitized to being physically abused by her ex-boyfriend, but when he tried to put his hands on her staff/family she started to muster the courage to stand for them, not only for herself. that's when you know she values them and was genuine to her people.
Hi

Unfortunately, from what I've read, that seems to be fairly common in cases like this. The abuser degrades the victim to the point of (whether knowingly or unknowingly) the victim believing that they don't deserve anything better. Sometimes to the point of them believing that they deserve the abuse. It isn't until the abuser starts going after someone else that they realize the truth. They don't deserve the abuse, the abuser is the one at fault.
the fact that SHE apologized for something she couldnt control is just heartbreaking
She has nothing to appologize for and I wouldn't be upset if she shut down the channel. She shouldn,xt have to be forced to do something she doesn't like.
Eyes that always laugh and a mouth that always smiles usually hide pain. Pain isn't always visible, bruises are

Hey everyone, after tzuyang's last video that portrayed all her evidence of SA, physical abuse, and her unwanted pregnancy.. a particular korean youtube channel '가로세로연구소' is still harrassing her. This channel is notoriously known for picking on individuals and fabricating false accusations. They are still demanding that Tzuyang explain why she had an abortion under a fake name (when in tzuyang's video it is clearly shown that her ex-boyfriend set up the surgery under his sister's name, plus I think it's just disgusting to point fingers at a victim of sexual violence for having an abortion). They are also asking why a perfectly innocent victim would go and work in a sexual entertainment establishment (I don't know the exact vocab in english, but in korea there are certain bars that are semi-legal and targeted toward adult entertainment). Tzuyang already explained about this, it was clarified that her ex-boyfriend forced her to work against her will. Besides, this youtuber is completely manipulating the essence. The fact that tzuyang was the victim of terrible abuse and blackmailing stands unchanged, and no amount of allegations against her 'innocence' can say otherwise. I would appreciate it a lot if all of you living abroad go and hit that report button on this channel's contents, as they actually make a lot of profit out of this disgusting behavior.

I’m almost 100% sure that the guy “protecting” his r-p-st friends in the Miryang 44 case is involved in that case as well. No one would go that far in protecting r*p*st friends unless he’s a r*p*st himself in that case.
I thinks he’s mostly protecting himself and what it might do to his reputation. But I agree if his friends are weirdos he’s probably very similar in some way

People like them are one of the reasons why there’s a saying that if you want to know a person, just look at who they are friends with or who they mostly surround themselves with. If all or most of someone’s friends are complete trash, that someone isn’t any different from them. Addition to it, without a doubt, if someone goes out their way to defend other trashes, they are most likely are trashes as well who does the same things and usually thinks it’s fine.

There were many times she hit me with crazy comments regarding issues like this, and I always forget and start a conversation with her. I reminded her that she was only 20, 21 and that she still is young, and she continued to ignore and say “why didn’t she report it then?” I am so aware of what an abusive relationship can do to a person, how fed up Korea is with these issues, and how trauma changes a person. My mom continued to talk about how I should never get into relationships like this and that I should tell them if I ever got into one. The irony of her to say such thing wanting to protect her own child as she is brushing off an innocent victoms story. Even though she was afraid of the incident being revealed, she did her best to let people know her difficult situation. However, looking at the reactions of the communities that Korean men mainly use now, far from cursing criminals, she calls Tzuyang a prostitute, a mop, and somehow tries to insult her. Some even said that her boyfriend seems to have a good personality just by not revealing her true identity. Incredible, this is the reality of Korea.
