He was prowling insta for girls he could have. He assumed he could simply have Saltanat if he simply messaged her, undoubtedly very very used to getting everything he wants in short order. When she rejected him, he probably decided then that he would manipulate her until he had complete control and then tear her apart slowly until she had no will of her own. Over time he broke her down psychologically and emotionally, no doubt using physical and sexual violence to further degrade and destroy her. The moment she rebuffed his advances on Instagram, he had decided he would make her his possession and once he'd had a bit of fun he would destroy his plaything. Make no mistake, this was premeditated, murder with malice aforethought. He decided immediately that he would take her will, take her spirit, and then take her life.
well it couldnt have been any worse than that. And what do you mean public? The only witnesses were working at that restaurant. these workers were directly subordinate to him, he was fully in charge of that restaurant. he took her to their private room anyway
@@Light-156 They are still people who should have reported him anyway if they had any backbone at all. Really pathetic and disgusting behavior on their part.
@@Light-156 Public as in on camera. Public is in even if it's his restaurant, he's doing this kind of thing to her outside in a restaurant which is a restaurant for the public. And she likely suffered worse in private (like within their home), because he has so much confidence to beat her, kick her, pull her hair in a more public place. In a more private place, he doesn't have to hold back.
he got 24 years in prison now! that’s almost a lifetime sentence in Kazakhstan. it was announced about 15 minutes ago edit: he can appeal in about 16 years but only if Nukenova’s family will accept it
That was impossible. He wouldn't get acquitted even if he managed to pay off every jury member. This case was aired for an entire nation to watch and also current president of Kazakhstan was keeping an eye on Bishimbaev's sentencing. Bishimbaev himself admitted he was guilty in beating his wife, he really couldn't deny it after surveillance camera footage was released. @manuelajager8517
The ex wife defending her is so touching and heartbreaking all at once. She was most likely abused during their marriage as well and knows exactly what the other woman went through. Thank god he was convicted. He should spend the rest of his natural life rotting in prison.
It she married someone with higher power and got killed , it’s “ she shouldn’t seek rich guys” but remember the case of that hongkong girl who killed by her husband because she is richer than him? I’m just so sick that people blamed women for the suffering men caused on her
@@samspade2657 notice how you are trying to invalidate what she said by putting the victim perspective on men under a video of a girl that lost her life? Weirdo behavior

Why should we males risk our lives to protect you since you hate us and prefer bears anyway? Welcome to the feminist revolution. And, remember what Hillary said, "The future is female." @@AmariSafiya it feels like they’re scared to even talk about him, because they will be canceled the moment they do, because people are on the edge, fed enough. He is the most hated person in the country.
It would be nice if someone could answer my question, is it common for the government of Kazakhstan to consult psychics to make important decisions? It’s just completely bizarre from an outsider’s perspective.
The worst thing is that after "Saltanat's Law" a lot of men in Kazakhstan started to complain and say that they will not get married. Like, they are going to marry a woman to beat her, or what?!
I get men who don't want to be framed by unscrupulous women, but for the group that say they won't get married simply because they can't assert their dominance to their wives by using unnecessary brute force to the point of leaving scars, marks bruises, etc... I think that is hardly a loss.
Sounds like the local version of MGTOW, it’s not so different than to seeing here in the US many men (mainly incels and RedPill type of guys) complain about how #MeToo has made it all but impossible to just say hi to women or let alone date them. In either case as long as they all leave women alone I see that as a net positive as well.
In Kazakhstan, a 16-year-old boy named Sherzat was brutally murdered right in front of his brother. The perpetrators split Sherzat’s head in two. Despite the family’s efforts to bring justice, the case has dragged on with no response from authorities. Recently, it was reported that Sherzat’s brother was also killed, with claims of suicide being false. Their house was burned down, and their grandmother was placed in a psychiatric institution. The family continues to receive threats. Please share this situation to raise awareness and ensure justice is served
The saddest part is that I see everywhere comments that we need to listen to both sides. Like dude, he killed her what do you need to hear? But lots of men are justifying his actions, I'm horrified.
There is even an interview with HIS parents with a Russian TH-cam psychologist that is blaming Saltanat for what happened to her and justifying all the actions of this monster
@@scoobydoo02Not entirely true. It is less common for a woman to subject a man to domestic violence, but tgere are cases where the women in question got away or tried to get away with killing their victims by falsely claiming self defence. Rotten Mango even has a video on one
People og those kind usually are projecting their reality upon people around. He wanted to see himself an intelligent, independent and free, but he was definitely not. He saw that she was everything he wanted to be, and hated this. He tried to project his fake reality upon her and failed, and he hated her more.
So, HE was cheating on her (confirmed), was in prison for corruption, has 2 ex-wives and 4 kids, and HE had beaten her to death for a relationship she allegendly had at the age of 21 and 25, 5 years before she even met him (which she only admitted to get rid of him after he beat her to death). What an actual psycho of a man. You know why he was so insecure? Because 1) deep down he knew she was much superior and he did not deserve her AND 2) because he was a cheater himself so he has a mindset that everyone is as trash as him.
He knew she never dated that guy. Something Stephanie did not mention is that after Saltanat sent that first photo with bruises to her brother, Bishimbayev was so mad he forced her to make an intimate video of her to use as a guarantee that she will not go with this photo to police. She confessed that to her friend. So this time he knew she will 1) leave him and 2) go to police after that beating. So he on purpose made many takes of that video until he could finally record that she was so exhausted she said “turns out I did sleep with him at the age of 21 and 25”. She even used the phrase “turns out” and made it clear that he made it up. He planned to use these videos to manipulate her stay silent and to never go to the police.
Narcissist people deep down are the MOST INSECURE people but they portray themselves with so much confidence it's scary. I hope I never cross path with one, they can make you sick literally
What is also very heartbreaking is the fact that Saltanat's grandmother still doesn't know anything about it... Her family is keeping her away from the news as they know she would be absolutely devastated. To this day, she still asks her parents about her well-being and keeps saying "she hasn't been visiting me lately" :(
The fact that even after Saltanat's death, the ex minister's family did not grieve the family but insulted them is just...wow. And what the ex-minister's sister and mother did is just so, no words could explain it. Ig this is evidence that there are some people that cant be changed, not even angels could change them.
Saltanat's brother started a non-profit to help victims of domestic violence , they have already helped women escape from abuse. Saltanat, may her soul be at peace was right.
What an amazing, beautiful soul 🥹...anyone would be proud to call him their brother. Ty for helping to share the news about his non-profit!!! RIP Sweet Saltanat ❤🙏🕊
Do you know if there were people in the restaurant while the beating was happening? it's not clean in the video (I haven't finished it, it is too much for me, so I don't know if she talks about this at some point).

And also my brother was already thinking about how he would have to fix all this, because on the day of her death Putin was supposed to come there, according to the reservation). and also the restaurant administrator (woman) handed over Saltanat’s things, since she was naked, and 2 blankets, to Bishimbayev’s brother. I haven’t watched it yet, I don’t know if you know, but I’ll say that the brothers were going to hide Saltanat’s body, wrapped her in a blanket, also found tape in the trash, erased all of Saltanat’s prints (they weren’t found anywhere), and Bish asked to drive her brother's phone number around the city, allegedly she was moving and was alive, to confuse the investigation and her geolocation. called his friends who looked like her and supposedly wanted to put one of them on, not clothes, so that she would go out in front of the cameras, and while she was dying he himself ate food, drank and called a clairvoyant (fortune teller)
I really think Saltanat was right- her brother is meant to make a change and help people by telling her story and making sure this man never ever hurts anyone else again. I hope she gets justice.
She made a change here in our country.Im from Kazakhstan(the place where this happened),and because of this case we finally have a law against domestic violence. We call it “Saltanats law”.
If you're ever in an abusive relationship, don't ever forgive that first slap in the face. Don't ever forgive being humiliated in public . Take your things and run. It only gets worse. This is not love. I know you feel like you need that other person, that you're nothing, but trust me. This is not what a loving relationship should ever be like. Get out, rediscover yourself, and stay safe.
One thing about Saltanat, she really loved children and wanted to become a mother. There’s a video of her, recorded by her friends. They were hanging out at an open-air restaurant, and a boy came out with children's books. He was selling them, and Saltanat bought a few books to support him. One of her friends asked, “Who are you buying these for?” She smiled and replied, “My future children I’ll keep these books for them.” And she never had a chance to become a mother… Another thing that breaks my heart: her elderly grandmother still thinks that she’s alive. The family didn’t have the heart to tell her, as she probably wouldn’t take it well. She always asks about Salta, and I wonder, she’s probably upset by the fact that Salta is not visiting nor calling her.
Another one, her parents had such a healthy relationship and if was weaponized and used it against her. Imagine inspiring your child in such a way and it being used that way
Gosh, that makes it even worse. The family needs to constantly talk about her and be confronted with her death and the grandma misses her and probably feels left alone
Stephanie, I thank you so much on behalf of all Kazakhstan citizens for covering this atrocity. Our government is known for sweeping cases involving higher ups under the rug. We’ve had a law that considered household violence a “misdemeanor” for such a long time. To the point that when such case filed they would bring both parties to “make up” in court if it was first time offense. Outrageous. After this case gained attention the laws were changed. So you making a video on it itself is such big help for Kazakh women. I sincerely believe even this one video can change things in my home country. Thank you for this comment. I hope it really does a lot. In the U.S., domestic violence has largely been a misdemeanor as well! There are some cases when it becomes a felony, but it's not the standard (some states maybe, hopefully it is). The world has taken so long to even begin to care

The restaurant is owned by his family from what I’ve read, so this was probably the reason why the situation was this much silenced. Not that it’s more okay, just that it makes a tiny bit more sense that people kept their mouths shut and that he was able to stay there for that long.
He knows people. It was likely dangerous to turn it down. He could find where you live, where your family lives. It wasn’t right to do but hard to blame them. Blame the POS who murdered an innocent woman and forced people to make decisions that likely hurt their soul.

First major red flag is the fact that he pursued her so aggressively based off her instagram photos only. He wanted her purely for her physical appearance and pursued her relentlessly because his ego couldn’t afford to be bruised by her rejection.
A man doesn’t go into such a rage without extreme provocation ……..SHE WANTED MORE THAN HALF HIS ASSETS ……IN SOME COUNTRIES HE WONT BE CHARGE ……. It is about RESPECT !!!!
This is how “nice guys” act. It begins with the love bombing, constant flattery, charming persona, and praise seeking. Once the victim is trapped, the REAL side of the “nice guy” is revealed - unable to receive criticism, gaslighter, unable to control his rage, constant boundaries violations, conditional love, martyr complex. It’s hard to get out with one’s life. So so sad.
Which is why spreading awareness about this pattern of behavior is so important. It's so easy for a victim to fall for it and believe it's "their fault" when things change when they don't know this is just how people like this operate. It has nothing to do with the victim.
My sister s in love with a man like that. He s a narcissist, it s all about him. He also very childish, throw tantrums whenever her family come visit. He treats her like his maid. In ancient Kazakh country women were so respected and valued. But now our men changed traditions and religious rules under their comfort so they can control and do everything they want. Kazakh girls and women are so vulnerable right now we have to protect them.
It was the same in the whole Kavkaz. Now they have gone really bad. They have no respect for women, no love, no empathy. It hurts so much because they were the only "real men" we could count on.
1:26:00 Hi! Just wanted to add that it's not completely verified that Saltanat took off her clothes by herself. Aitbek's lawyers found it debatable, because the buttons of her blouse, the wristband of her watches and even her underwear were torn in a way that implied that those items were taken off with a lot of force.
When I first heard that, I thought perhaps Saltanat took off her clothes and then, to humiliate her, her abuser then tried to take everything else off, but the blouse buttons and wristwatch details definitely point to something different.

About the perfume incident. I'm 100% sure Saltanat would be equally blamed if she gave nothing to the cousin and his wife and saved the perfume for herself. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
That's probably why she was so panicked to gift it jn the first place - she knew he would be furious with her for not being hospitable to the cousin. Hell, the mother probably would have torn her a new one if she didn't. That family is disgusting. Poor Saltanat
Exactly!! If you follow CA cases which result in death, everyone of them involves setting up impossible "rules" which the child cannot keep... which then "justifies " the abuse. I also thought about that with the NYE incident...it was a happy event, and he couldn't stand her happy; so whether or not she had nothing for the cousin or gave the cousin her own gift, he would've said she failed. I would not be a bit surprised if he hadn't invited them to put her in an impossible position. finally, it was no coincidence that he waited until just after midnight to storm back into the house and get angry about them opening the gifts which he knew they would do.
The verdict has just been announced!!! He was sentenced to 24 years in prison and his cousin who helped conceal his crimes was sentenced to 4 years in prison!

Take care of yourself as well, Stephanie. This kind of case might also exhaust you from researching to telling us the every detail of the story. Thank you so much for all your hardwork! You're such an amazing story teller.
The argument saying "he bought her all these clothes" Is sooo stupid Like you wanted a housewife, you are obligated to provide everything for her AS YOUR DUTY and she doesn't owe you anything for that God it's so stupid
He also said she threw everything away when they were arguing. But the investigation showed that he took off her clothes and jewellery by himself, tearing them up :(
Wow, you'd be surprised how many people don't agree with this simple truth in North America. In NA men want a housewife who somehow can provide for herself (working and doing everything for the family at the same time) or expect their spouses to be on maternity leave that pays a percentage of a womans normal work income to support her needs and some of the families needs while she takes care of an infant(s).
He was courting her for months. She rejected him over and over, and he kept pursuing her still. He was attracted to her light, and could not replicate it himself which is why he took it away
@pixiestxNyomouf Narcs will never EVER have light in them, Hence why they go from empath to empath "relationship" to relationship, and victim to victim trying to steal it. And destroy so many.
She divorced him because she knew stuff about him that could put him back in jail. That's the only reason he let her go. Narcissists only respect power and fear.
The murderer has just been sentenced to 24 years, with all his assets confiscated. The accomplice relative of his got 4 years. Thank you very much for covering this case, thank you for all the hard work and for being another source of support to Saltanat's brother.
When EXACTLY they said about his assets being confiscated? Why do u make things up? Toilet Rolex and other jewelry will be given to her brother and her family will get 2 mil of your Kazachstan money whatever it is as a moral compensation, but that was it
@bambinaforever1402 Two million will be paid to the state for the trial expenses, the family will only get 103 thousand, and although that's very little, I don't think they are interested in his money anyway. I am sure that the part about the assets was on the official state news portal yesterday immediately after the sentencing - unfortunately, I missed the sentencing live online - but I can not see it now, so, perhaps, there was either some confusion there, or I have misunderstood something, and I apologize for that.
@bambinaforever1402 I have checked once again, and the confiscation of assets occurred during his previous arrest for corruption in 2018. Thank you for pointing out the fault in my comment. Our Kazakhstan money is called tenge, by the way, KZT.
No. He'll pay 2 mil tenge to the state. His property that was arrested for the time of investigation wad released back to his family (perhaps so they could buy him out later or to make sure his time in prison is super comfortable) Family of the victim can only keep her personal possessions and jewelry.
UPD:. I rewatched the video and there is one major mistake regarding Saltanat’s head trauma. It is what Bishinbaev is trying to claim: that Saltanat apparently had a head trauma from 3-4 weeks ago (which would be very hard to prove that he had any relation to) and this old blood leak caused her death. Like she was falling on the toilet, on the floor again and again, and this old trauma worsened and she died because of it. BUT IT’S NOT TRUE. As per expert report Saltanat had a MICROSCOPIC blood leak in her head, it was from 3 to 4 weeks ago. In no way it could have been a cause of her death. FYI, a blood leak in the head is life-threatening when it’s 50-60 mL. From all the trauma Saltanat sustained that night blood leak in her head was 230 mL!! A FULL ASS GLASS OF BLOOD. And it all was a new blood from the beating on November 9th… An expert, who was questioned in court, stated that with such amount of blood in the head Saltanat must probably won’t be saved even if ambulance was called while she was still alive. What kind of a person you should be to beat someone till such a state… As of today (May 9) the court hearing is over and we are awaiting the result. 2 weeks ago Bishinbaev finally gave the court an access to his phone and what they found there was horrific. It’s not clear if he forgot about the existence of those video or he thought that he deleted them somehow, but there was around 27 videos of him torturing Saltanat, that he filmed himself. Videos are filmed between 6 AM and 8 AM and with each new video she has more trauma on her face and body. There was videos of him belittling her, asking her gross questions, beating her. She’s naked in half of those videos and he even tried to forcefully spread her legs while she’s in the ground naked, beaten, weak and film her private parts.
The fact she was so close to leaving and being safe with her brother. That monster was never going to let her go. May she rest in peace🕊️ Such a beautiful, intelligent, and kind woman🩷

@@shiznit162in the videos found in his phone on the day of the murder he asked her the same question 175 times "Did you sleep with...". One time while he was asking her, he was spreading her legs to video her private parts...
Right. And in the court he said himself that Saltanat has relationships with that Batalov when she was at 21 or 25 years old, that mean at least 7-5 year before she met Bishimbaev.

Seeing her brother in court watch a video on the phone of this monster where his little sister is beaten beyond recognition and is forced to crawl naked on the floor search for medication and answer the same question again and again is the most heartbreaking part. Aypek looked so broken. These are things one cannot forget no matter how much time passed. RIP Saltanat
If I heard audio of my sister being treated the way Saltanat was treated, I would lose my mind 😡. I don't know how Aitbek held himself together during the trial. 💔😢
An update! He was sentenced to 24 years in prison yesterday. Saltanat’s family is fine with that verdict because Bishimbaev’s gonna be 68 when he’s free: no friends, no family, no money
Thank you SO MUCH for covering a Kazakh case. Women in Kazakhstan need to be protected. The laws are absolutely terrible about DV and its so taboo to talk about abuse in any type of relationships. THIS SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED NORMAL. I hope our country becomes safer if these cases get attention. Its quite sad that if he wasnt the minister, he'd likely be forgiven of such a crime and that needs to change. Love from Kazakhstan
But how will there be change. Is anyone making some change some perition some boycott or even just not accepting that in a relationship or teaching one’s kids to be decent. Sad in colombi and other places this is too common. Colombia being a “catholic” country and having sick crimes too feels like people aren’t even the religions they claim to be since beside like satanist every religion is supposed to be a good person the rest of the details shouldn’t matter if people are good and kind. 😢 I pray and manifest it improves and that there’s actions towards womens roghts everywhere
@@TatycharmzYes, we are making petitions, trying to go to peaceful protest and demonstrations. Speaking up in every social media. But Kazakhstan is very conservative and patriarchal. As long as corrupted. To this day, every attempt had been shut down.

because of the case’s popularity and sort of protests across different countries, the Senate of Kazakhstan finally passed the law defending women and children from domestic violence. The law was even named by the public as “FORSaltanat”. This is just the beginning.
i will never understand why it is that women and children are so under-valued in most of society the world over, including here in america. domestic violence, whether against women or children, should be met with life in prison, NO parole, NO early release. NO get-out-of-jail-free card.
☝🏻 this! But men (at least in America and certainly plenty of other places!) are embracing Tate inspired incel rhetoric in response to the very idea of things SLOWLY changing so that women, at least, are working their way to some degree of equality. It’s amazing that men haven’t realized by now that THEY are the fragile ones! Whether hating the fact that women no longer wish to be kept and killed, or simply having their “pride” hurt by a woman saying or doing something that they don’t like (and feeling justified taking liberties to lives due to that), THEY are the ones who let feelings rule their lives. And RUIN the lives of others. But they don’t understand why we don’t want to date them, marry them, or be forced into having children they won’t take care of. Bc FeMiNiSm or some other shit they make up. 🙄. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
One of the sad things is that there are so many reasons/excuses. Because it's happening to other people's families and not the people making the laws, because men are often seen as more important because of their earning capability, because court systems commonly overlook narcissistic traits... I don't understand it either.
Because men have put themselves in positions of power & make rules that benefit themselves. It’s easier & more profitable to treat women & children like property than valued equals. 🤷
Actually, there is an analysis video on youtube of his testimony and overall behavior during trial, where a specialist breaks down almost every body language and facial expressions and explains them
I think this is a problem for all of Central Asia. Recently in Kyrgyzstan, Rakhima Aikymbayeva was killed by her ex-husband. She was stabbed 27 times while holding her baby. Many men here kidnap and force women to marry them. In one case, the police arrested a kidnapper and kept him and the girl he kidnapped in the same cell (God knows why), he soon killed her and attempted suicide. In another story, an ex-husband cut off his ex-wife's nose and ears during a quarrel. They don't consider us equal. And in our society ppl think that it's shameful to raise your voice and tell that your husband beats you. So imagine how many unspoken violence behind the courtains
Not only Asia sadly... In my country a man killed his ex wife and his children recently. I remember last year a case where a man through acid to his ex-girlfriend and a politician through his wife down the balcony... Also, a man who was abusing his girlfriend on the street killed another man who came to rescue the girl... It's crazy
@@MsNG82 I think people should start teaching boys to respect women and parents should distribute household responsibilities equally among their children, regardless of their gender. In our family, if I don't cook or cry, my brother thinks he has every right to yell at me. This all comes from childhood. After being treated this way by my brothers and witnessing such terrible stories, I want to marry someone abroad🫠
Misoginy and treating females as property is an issue in a lot of countries, unfortunately. Look at India, Sudan, Afghanistan, Iran, etc. It's everywhere, and it's a big issue.
The most infuriating thing about his trial for me is the fact that he claimed to be a victim himself. "Oh, she was hitting me, we had physical fights" and such. Of course, poor little ex-minister, you couldn't walk away from her, it's her who was abusive. STFU!
"If you’re a man in an abusive relationship, it’s important to know that you are not alone. Abuse of men happens far more often than you might expect. About one in three men have experienced sexual violence, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime. And approximately one in ten men report an impact from that victimization. The most common impacts reported in a survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control were fear, concern for safety, and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.1" 1 Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Violence, and Stalking Among Men, Centers for Disease Control (2018 update).
exactly! the fact this statement only adds more to the stigma that men can't be abuse victims. He was physically stronger and in a position of power, if he hit her so bad she has a right to defend herself but oh no domestic violence is suddenly a thing now when the woman does it for self defense, pure hypocrisy

The monologue of him forcing her to say she cheated was terrifying. I was assaulted by an ex who forced himself onto me after I broke up with him. In the middle of the S/A he mentioned another man’s name. He was so fixated on an allegation that I cheated, which wasn’t true. After the S/A, he was set on ending my life. He strangled me and I kept fighting until I felt my body starting to go limp. In those last moments I remember telling him I love him. I was so desperate to live. I told him what he wanted to hear. I lost consciousness, was badly beaten and left for dead. He’s in prison for attempted murder now but I remember feeling that my only option I had was to tell him what he wanted to hear. I know exactly how that woman felt. It was a last resort type of defense that I didn’t even consciously make.

It's horrendous to realize that only because of a case like this the laws were considered to be changed for domestic violence. Only because he was a government employee and only because of that. Praying for all women to be safe
I was just watching an American comedian by the name of Josh Johnson on the subject of Harvey Weinstein getting one of his conviction cases over-turned and his commentary on it about women taking matters into their own hands combined with this woman's experience has me thinking he might be on to something.
I agree but I think you got it the wrong way round.. abusers usually have the most audacity they cheat then get mad about us being mad about it, they control because they assume we will do to them what they do to us (cheat) and they act childish because they are childish and petty.
When Kuandyk and Saltanat were leaving the concert hall, he mentioned to her (and it's captured on a CCTV footage): "you won't be needing your coat anymore", so even then he knew exactly what he was going to do later on. Imagine hearing something like that from a husband, terrifying...

The way the mother and sister act while the victims family is trying to obtain her stuff is insane. No wonder he turned out that way, the mother is trashing the victim saying she is a crappy housekeeper and says take victim beat herself up and took her own life. The sister is throwing the victim’s belongings and saying her brother bought it all for her, well of course he did because he forced her to stop working so he could control her. Absolutely disgusting entire family, no wonder he was a narcissist, he raised by wolves.
Please keep in mind that Kazakhstan is the country that allows adult men abducting young girls and force them into marriage, after that the new wife will not be accepted back into her family and is basically new slave to the mother in law and husband's family. This is part of the culture there, sadly.
The way he pursued her was strange. He didnt chase her like he loved her, he approached her like he didn't want anyone else to have her. He was obsessed with her. He wanted a beautiful trophy, not a wife, not a partner, not a person, a trophy that smiles when you snap a photo with her. This is so sad and scary.

He bought her step by step buying her flowers and sweets step by step like as he caring about her,and what is the worst part is he knew her home and also helped her with everything by buying her so she slowly started to fall to him, told all her girlfriends how is this man amazing but actually he was chasing her as maniac and when he got her he started to manipulate by her, used her, and he was envy her because he is jealous her happiness because he is not happy and doesn’t see others happiness, this kind of people try to end you or will make you sad when you happy. so I’m gonna tell all girls be happy but don’t be naive too much. Be careful and don’t tell anything about yourself. Be private.
Her brother literally makes me cry bc of the love he has for his sister. This so real. A year ago or so, I was driving down a freeway I frequent saw a car that was pulled over just a few hundred feet from an exit, and saw a man and a women had walked 50 feet behind the car with the women on her knees doing what looked like pleading with the man for whatever reason with him just standing there. I called the cops to do a check on them, and I really hope they did. I also hope that seeing that there are people out there who see you struggling and care made even a little difference. Unfortunately in situations like that since I didn’t personally know them or was involved directly I never heard anything back about it, but at least I said something. There was no reason for them to be having that interaction in such a dangerous situation, and the man’s disregard for her safety was unacceptable.
Yeah but unfortunately there are alot of cases where you do something about it and intervene but the woman being abused instead of being grateful, actually doesn't want you to help cus they feel so stuck and mentally abused for so long that they just stay in the relationship hoping there abuser will change.
I definitely agree but at the same time it was his restaurant and like stephanie said, if you get on that family’s bad side both you and your family’s life could be ruined unfortunately….the average person probably doesnt have the ability to risk that and it probably wouldve been ignored and only wasnt because of their (saltanat’s family) campaigning. It is really unfortunate that they’ve (bishimbaev) basically able to do whatever they want because of their power
Yup... only reason I made it out alive after 8 hours of getting beaten, (and my landlord lived in the building, heard the screams and asked me to keep it down- I detest her to this day), I was able to convince him that my mother was expecting me over for tea. He let me go alone and we went to the police and courts immediately. Even after I wasn't safe. Had to change phone numbers, apartments, car, stop going places I enjoyed because he would grab me up publicly, ... and this didn't end for any other reason than he took his own life. He beat multiple women. I'll never have an easy way to look back as I, like Sultunat, was delusional enough thinking I could love a broken man into being better. But it was at my expense in a life or death way. Even though I survived I still carry the mental scars and live in a very isolated manner. Men can sense I've been abused and it takes great vigilance to steer clear of another predator seeing that in me.

I am disgusted, why are women not protected from violence anywhere in the world? No matter what might have been her shortcomings as a wife, you do not get to put your hands on a woman let alone a wife. Also what kind of excuse did his mom make, I am so angry.
I feel like a good portion of the men in position of power are so insecure and afraid of the power women naturally possess. They fear women will do to then what they do to women so they need to keep women down. The real pandemic is femicides.
Evidently in Khazastan you can do it for hours in a public place and no one will call the police. I feel sorry for anyone who has to live in a place like that.

It's usually amazing women that they target because they see something in them that they wish they had because they secretly hate themselves. Abusive relationships are insidious by nature, otherwise it would be more rare because people wouldn't tolerate that behavior.
Yeah i was thinking something similar.. for all the very unique aspects of this particular situation - the country, the power, & of course, the horrific murder and how it happened - the story of the abuse DURING the relationship in & of itself is... so sadly incredibly common. The narcissim, emotional manipulation, gaslighting. How hard it is for victim to leave, how they are robbed of their power and agency, how the abuser ocasionally gives a drop of love to keep you hopefull of a better future, that it might be worth fighting for, that they will change, they are not fully a "bad" person... As a long time listener of Stephanie's & someone constantly intetested to learn abt women's experiences and stories.. its an odd feeling to have the thought "ive heard this story a 100 times before", and rarely does it end well. This is all so depressing. I hope at least something good comes out of it for the women of kazhakstan.

So sad); pure evil family
He's insane!

Their house was burned down, and their grandmother was placed in a psychiatric institution. The family continues to receive threats. Please share this situation to raise awareness and ensure justice is served

This man straight up hated SALTANAT from the beginning.. she was intelligent, independent, happy and a free woman and he really disliked that

I agree
Generally men like things about women they end up hating about them in the end
Reason #3 Small pennis, couldn't get it up. Little man.
Well said!

One of her friends asked, “Who are you buying these for?” She smiled and replied, “My future children I’ll keep these books for them.” And she never had a chance to become a mother…
Another thing that breaks my heart: her elderly grandmother still thinks that she’s alive.
Imagine inspiring your child in such a way and it being used that way
Thank you for sharing this.

Stephanie, I thank you so much on behalf of all Kazakhstan citizens for covering this atrocity. Our government is known for sweeping cases involving higher ups under the rug.
Toilet Rolex and other jewelry will be given to her brother and her family will get 2 mil of your Kazachstan money whatever it is as a moral compensation, but that was it
Thank you for the update
And it all was a new blood from the beating on November 9th…
An expert, who was questioned in court, stated that with such amount of blood in the head Saltanat must probably won’t be saved even if ambulance was called while she was still alive. What kind of a person you should be to beat someone till such a state…
As of today (May 9) the court hearing is over and we are awaiting the result.
This is horrific.. This man better not get off for this and serve substantial time.
Are there a lot of vigilantes in Kazakhstan who take matters into their own hands?
that man needs to be in jail

because of the case’s popularity and sort of protests across different countries, the Senate of Kazakhstan finally passed the law defending women and children from domestic violence.
I strongly agree
Because it’s men’s world 😭😭😭
Because men have put themselves in positions of power & make rules that benefit themselves. It’s easier & more profitable to treat women & children like property than valued equals. 🤷
I also like how Stephanie was able to have an actual interview with the brother and include it in the video.
the scariest thing is how calm his voice sounds in court. i don't even understand the language, but he sounds so collected and assertive but calm.

Actually, there is an analysis video on youtube of his testimony and overall behavior during trial, where a specialist breaks down almost every body language and facial expressions and explains them

Narcissists always speak this way, when they need to get something
That information makes me want to vomit!! 😢 it 2024! How are these things still happening.... humanas are barbaric!🤮🤯😭🤬
If international attention is brought to the issue, do you think that could change some regulations in central Asian countries?
Not only Asia sadly... In my country a man killed his ex wife and his children recently. I remember last year a case where a man through acid to his ex-girlfriend and a politician through his wife down the balcony... Also, a man who was abusing his girlfriend on the street killed another man who came to rescue the girl... It's crazy
@@MsNG82 I think people should start teaching boys to respect women and parents should distribute household responsibilities equally among their children, regardless of their gender.
The most common impacts reported in a survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control were fear, concern for safety, and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.1"
1 Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Violence, and Stalking Among Men, Centers for Disease Control (2018 update).
exactly! the fact this statement only adds more to the stigma that men can't be abuse victims.

Yup... only reason I made it out alive after 8 hours of getting beaten, (and my landlord lived in the building, heard the screams and asked me to keep it down- I detest her to this day), I was able to convince him that my mother was expecting me over for tea. What we all should know is : If your partner hits you, the relationship is over. There is no coming back from that. We should act accordingly.
it's never that easy. your comment feels very victim-blamey. what we all should know is : don't hit your partner.
@@mika-si7fubitch that’s the same thing they swid
@@mika-si7fu I am sorry if it feels victim blamey. I assumed we all know not to hurt anyone. English is not my first language. You are right what we all should know is : Do not hurt anybody and if you got hurt exit the relationship ! I think now it reflects my thoughts way better.
definitely if u stay it only get worse and worse and more often too ....abusers don t deserve second chances ...and it would be nice if the abuser come across someone who show them how the abuse feel so they can feel it themself
EXACTLY...Also, the red flags were there before the relationship was established....sadly many women either ignore red flags or dont recognize certain things as red flags. For Saltanat, the biggest red flag was that her husband had been married and divorced multiple times prior to meeting her.
I am from Russia and I am very grateful to you for talking about this. Unfortunately, for our country, the issue of the law on domestic violence is still "controversial". And I am afraid that this will not change in the near future.
I'm sorry that the system can only name the laws after the dead women but not protect them.
This case took place in Kazakstan, not Russia! Why do Russian speak about other countries like it’s their own and what this case or Kazakh people to do with you?
It’s absolutely shocking and shows how uneducated and awful Russians 🤢🤮
@@mariannahercovszka3624 uuummm….because Russia is literally a neighbouring country in the same region??
@@teteya.n and alsoo quite a lot of russians have roots in kazakhstan
Until the culture and the mindset change, no law will fix what is going on. But changing the laws is one step in the right direction.
I’m so sorry for the horrible injustices suffered by the women of Russia! Valentina Grigoryeva often crosses my mind. It’s unbelievable how Stas Reeflay was ONLY sentenced to 6 years in prison for taking the life of his pregnant GF on live stream😢
Please share this situation to raise awareness and ensure justice is served. HELP WORLD
This poor woman. I can’t believe everyone in that restaurant just kept quiet and didn’t bother to try and call police or help her! She was such a beautiful and kind soul. 😔 This story is just so sad.
Dogs get treated better.
His family own this restaurant that’s why staff were terrified by him. Also there is other video where he is swearing to barmen and humiliates them. He was well behaved only with people who have more power and money than him.
The police are useless there. They don't get involved in "family matters", they are not there to protect. I'm from Kazakhstan and my mom always used to say "when you are in trouble, the last person you want to see is a policeman". Cos they are there just to take advantage of you while you are vulnerable
Reminded me of tha pakistani beheading episode. Like I would turn a blind eye to a lot of things my employer could do, but when someone is screaming in pain how can you not do anything to help. Wild.
@@fh9061Putin is a scary scary dangerous man. Look what happened recently. He ignored CIA’s warnings about a potential t error attack and allowed ISIS K to un alive people and leave the country. Then scape goatted some random scrawny men even c u tting their ear off.
People are afraid for their own lives.
The fact that his sister has the NERVES to say that her brother would get away with it just shows how much power trip he have
psycho family
The jealously behavior her husband exhibits towards her are usually an inward reflection of their own guilt and mistrust of themselves, because he knows he easily does these sexual things with other people he thinks his wife would also be willing to do these things .
He beat her into a confession then beat her to death for the confession. Yet he only focused on punishing her, not his best friend. He would be cowardly amongst other men actually confronting him for anything.
I’m not sure I agree in this case. I don’t think he felt any guilt at all. He believes he is entitled to whatever he wants, because he is a man. The only reason he accused her of cheating, is to exert control. It was just another method of abuse. He knew she wasn’t cheating. He knew exactly what she was doing at all times. He just wanted her to feel like a worthless rundown person, who doesn’t deserve any trust.
This is by far the best story you've covered. Not in the sense of the horrendous outcome, but in the way you told/covered it. I was completely hooked.
As a Kazakh woman I am so grateful that you are raising awareness about our problem, thank you so much
Salam Is there any local marches in Kazakhstan against beshabak?
@@AfifaFatima-dc9mxsadly but no protests and marches. Our government bans every march and arrest participants.

Snoring is a sign of Cardiac Gasping from a heart attack.
Had to learn this information the hard way, never been the same since. I’m now always sooo careful of checking on people who fall asleep around me and snore because it worries me.
Didn't know this, I'm going to look into that. Thanks for the info!
Also known as agonal breathing
Snoring is technically always abnormal. Sleep apnea, sinus issues, cardiac gasping, etc
I was thinking the same think. It was not a snore. She was actively dying
don't worry if the person is about to pass away and makes those noises you'll definitely tell apart. Snoring isn't normal, but it's quite common. Those noises that a dying person makes are literally scary, they will make you reeeeaally anxious.
I happened to hear them once in my life when my grandma passed away. I'll never unhear them.
saltanat was such a nice person.
her assistant shared her voice message when she has been working for her, and saltanat was so sweet and keep repeating "if you have time, can you buy blush? not too expensive, just pink". i don't think that i can translate it to english, but you can tell just by this voice message alone how caring, understanding and gentle she was.
I hope bishimbayev gets what he deserve.
I’m from Kazakhstan and this case literally shook up the whole country. Thank you Stephanie for spreading awareness to English talking audiences
as a girl from Kazakhstan i am extremely grateful that this case is being talked about. it feels as if Saltanat’s case is the turning point for the whole nation, when everyone is exposed to the realities of our society. thank you Stephanie and your team for doing a great research about this tragedy
She was an amazing woman and still fell for the same nonsense every abuse victim falls for: "I love him" "I can change him" blah blah blah. If you're in this situation and reading this, just look at the history of these cases and PLEASE realise that's not true. Get away from those rotten pieces of garbage asap and get to someone who can help you.
Yes and many become moms who then give this example
To their kids and sons. Women need to never except this 😢 and moms to teach their kids to be good people or they shouldn’t even create those lives
It's usually amazing women that they target because they see something in them that they wish they had because they secretly hate themselves. Abusive relationships are insidious by nature, otherwise it would be more rare because people wouldn't tolerate that behavior.
It's not as simple and direct. Abusers are manipulators. By the time you notice the abuse, it's already too late.
U cant change evil maybe the person doing it but not evil
