    A video on 1985 Jordan apparel would be great, assuming you have a collection (I see the wings jacket back there). Not really any quality videos on it.

      I'd love to. I have a decent collection of it but not the entire line. I think I could still put something together though.

      Coming soon! I actually started that for the book. It's interesting because even within the same factory, the pairs can differ in construction depending on the production date.

    Gold cost $320 an ounce in 1985, the same ounce costs $1890 now. That's a 6x difference, so $64.99 is like $390 today. Seriously pricey back then..

    • @VintageKicksGallery
      @VintageKicksGallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow. If you go by the "inflation calculators" it comes out close to $173 which is almost identical to the retro cost today. Honestly, I'm really surprised Nike isn't charging more for their retros.

    • @DashDrones
      @DashDrones 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VintageKicksGallery definitely! They should put a premium on them and it might get rid of the resellers who ruin it for the real sneaker heads..

      @@DashDrones For real! Personally, I wasn't mad at the Pinnacle Vachettas even at $400 retail because the quality was so on point and it absolutely killed the hype around them.

    When you were still doing the collection videos you said in one that the air max 1 flamingo was your favorite air max 1. I have a size 10.5 for sale if you're interested as I know you said you would double up.

    • @VintageKicksGallery
      @VintageKicksGallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yo! Definitely interested. Can you drop me an email at info@the85project.com so we can discuss. My pair is actually size 11 and I would love to have a pair in my actual size.

    Do you have any advice for identifying a pair of vintage shoes that were thrifted? I cannot identify them anywhere online but I actually saw the exact pair on your shelf in one of your videos.

  • @oli1658
    @oli1658 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you do a video on factory identifiers? My pair has the factory tag worn off so I would like to figure that out

    • @VintageKicksGallery
      @VintageKicksGallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's in the works. I found that there are differences even within the same factory depending on the production date.

    I don’t know if it’s just me but I swear they took the sky Jordan designed to make the air Jordan high retros

  • @ryanmmadden
    @ryanmmadden 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great rundown, sky was made in Korea and also Taiwan.

    • @VintageKicksGallery
      @VintageKicksGallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are the 86's right? I wasn't sure if those were actually ever fully authenticated.

    • @ryanmmadden
      @ryanmmadden 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VintageKicksGallery They're still 85's and totally legit. From my experience the materials on them are not up to par with the Korea made skys. As you probably know the biggest difference is the white base tongue tag and center seem on the back. As far as "Air" pairs I've only seen ST-P 86 chicagos and no 85's but I could be wrong.

    • @VintageKicksGallery
      @VintageKicksGallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ryanmmadden Aren't there some Taiwan Air pairs too? For some reason I'm thinking someone sent me pics and the soles were way different too. I think you're right on the 86 ST-P. They're definitely legit too because the cut and stitching is identical to the other ST-P color ways. If I'm remembering right, the pair I was shown came from someone who worked at Nike too.

    • @ryanmmadden
      @ryanmmadden 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VintageKicksGallery Could be but I haven't owned a Taiwan air before. Always cool that there are so many things to discover.

    Are fake Jordan 1 soles good for resoleing, because it feels awful to tear apart another Jordan 1, never mind pay for it
