Living in Canada they didn't release until 6-8 months later, so for at least a summer, I was the cool kid in grade school that even the rich kids couldn't get them.

I feel you man, just got the retro TZ in cherry and solar yellow. I was never getting sneakers like that as a kid and started buyings AIRS as a teen then Jordans in my 30's. Now Im 42 and got the shoes I could only dream of as a kid. Sounds dumb to some Im happy so what 😅
I had the OG's that Dee Brown wore, best shoes ever. I begged my parents to buy them for me, we found them cheap in Tijuana, Mexico because they were a deadstock pair that was a year old and the exchange rate of the dollar. I wore those shoes to hell and back, they were so comfortable.
Great pickup. I love the omni zone 2's. I had the og back in 91. And you're right, the tongue is shorter. That's disappointing. The 89 pump hi retro, omni zone 1s, twilight zone's, and blacktop all have original size tongues. The first retros in the early 2000s are the best when it comes to quality. Leather quality and the tech has really suffered since the financial crisis of 2008. I think Adidas put the squeeze on Reebok after that, and it's really showed in the quality. Hopefully if shaq buys Reebok he will put things right.👍
I got my first pair of these a couple weeks ago, I’m 40 and have also waited all my life to be able to buy these, my parents didn’t have a lot of money so I always had budget shoes, there was a guy at primary school that had some and I was always so envious of him I swore one day I’m going to get me a pair, I got the Omni’s but waiting for a good collab on the Shaq attacks to happen that have a decent colour way. I own a tonne of Jordan’s but they are everywhere and kind of bored of them now. I’m actually happy the younger gen haven’t picked up on the pumps yet otherwise they will all start getting like the resale market like the Jordan’s.

i am still waiting for reebok to release the og pump that's super high, I know they re-released an 25th anniversary pair years back but, the prices on those are super expensive. hopefully, they can re-release the og pump once more

I have a few pairs of those. The best one is the 2004 15th anniversary release. The pump mechanism is insane. I have a few of the 15th anniversary blacktops from 2005 too. The pump mechanism and materials are fire on them also. It's a shame reebok started cheaping out after 2008 with the quality of materials. The pump mechanisms are crap in comparison and the hexalite is fake. It's just hardened rubber. I really with they'd fix that.
Nostalgia!!! Man I had a pair of these in elementary. I remember playing basketball 🏀 during recess and mimicking Dee Brown with pump before the dunk. A few friends of mine had pairs as well and we would all bust the Dee Brown before playing 🏀. Great review.

Less than a year ago I was finally reminded of them, only to find colorways I don't wanna settle for, but I'm holding out hope. These ones you've got here are definitely up there with the nicest I've seen, maybe my favorites among them all.

But as soon as I saw the Dee Browns - it was an easy decisions. And now these sexy chalks only cement it. I hope Reebok keeps this up.
Try to look for a pump pre 2008/2009. You'll find that those pairs have the original hexalite cushioning and great pump mechanisms with air bladders that fill up properly and keep the air in. Although there are some omni zone 1s and twilight zone's from around 2012 that have great pump systems. They just have the ers instead of hexalite. 👍

I had the black and blue Shaq Attaqs the tear they came out. I just bought some Omni Zone 2s and I DO like reeboks retro quality over Nike. Adidas and Reebok are such better quality shoes than any of my Nike collection.

A local spot near me had the chalk vector blue colorway marked down to a crazy $39.99. I was tempted but it was a half size lower than what I normally wear. I walked away from them that day but I do still think about it. Price was pretty damn good.

only thing is that the leather here is bycaste , means the cheapest crap of universe. I would have prefer them to add 50/60 dollars and having orignal quality back...90's were the best

I have the Dee Browns and I got these. No brainer really. I love the OG Pumps even more than any Air Jordan pair.
All in all, the pump probably means more to me than almost all J's just due to what they were when I was a kid.
