So the note from Chris. Chris (a protagonist on RE1) has nowgone off to try and take down Umbrella. The note is keeping his team members informed of his actions. He tries to make it sound like a benign note from his vacation. And Claire says it doesn't sound like him because all of the "hanging out with babes in Europe" is made up and not the way Chris would actually act.
Specifically he's telling his STARS teammates that he's investigating Umbrella Europe. It's also weird because for the most part Resident Evil is a sexless series. The closest thing to a romance in RE is basically Leon and Ada flirting with each other. So Chris wouldn't be pursuing babes. Nobody pursues babes in RE lol.
The biggest difference in Leon A and Claire A imo is Marvin's interactions with the two characters. That actor gives the best performance in the game and you really see that in the two A scenarios. With Leon, Marvin is very stern and blunt, as you'd expect a lieutenant to be with a rookie in this situation. With Claire, Marvin is much softer and even seems to consciously hide just how badly his wounds are affecting him. The actor for Marvin *really* understood the assignment.
Very good description of that difference. But I would add that Claire also has to deal with a few more lickers than Leon does. Of course that's not counting the sections of the game that are completely different for each character.

There are a few other differences but whether they're worth the playthrough or not is a matter of opinion. There's the different primary handgun, the earlier appearance of Mr. X, some new item drops with flavor text (it's pretty bland), Marvin already being a zombie, the item box in the main lobby, the zombie grab through the bars in the hallway, and the additional final boss. Second run is also a faster run and I think the chess plug puzzle and the electrical switch puzzles might be different in 2nd run but I can't remember because it's been 4 years since I got all my hardcore s+ rankings.

9:45 In the original game, both characters were running around the station at the same time, doing slightly different things. Route A and B were reflecting this (different bosses, picking an item with one meant it was gone for the other, etc). In the remake, both characters do the exact same things. Route B is more of a "New Game+". Most of the differences you're seeing are not "Claire's story", it's jut B-related, Leon B is the same (except for Sherry, different weapons and heart key, this is Claire only. Leon gets Ada and the club key)
True, but for me it's always better to play first Leon then Claire in the remake. I base it only solely on the fact that otherwise Leon never meets Marvin. (Minor not-really-but-I-guess-spoiler:) In the Re4 Remake intro we can see that Marvin made Leon reflect on life, and the knife he uses is confirmed to be the same given to him. So while I do agree that it doesn't really matter in the long run, I still think just for that extra scenes of Leon and Marvin it's better to play as him on the first go.
RE2R veteran here: *no spoiler* but you did miss something in your first run with Leon. When going to loot the "hidden place" in the STARS office, check the drawer TWICE, you will an additional film to reveal (Albert Wesker, head of STARS, dirty secret) ... I hope you can check it out this time. I loved your first run and loving this one as well, enjoy this great game!
1:50:00 the reload animation is so slow, because that's 19th century revolver. Revolvers are in general slow to reload without speedloader or clip, but old single-action ones are even slower, and can't utilize speedloader or clip at all.

It's unfortunate what happened with your video, but don't worry, if you managed to hit those numbers it means you can do it again sooner or later. I must say you look cool with that jacket, you are very similar to Claire with it and also the hairstyle. Yes, the second run is more of a what it scenario, the original was also like this but somethings like the bosses were differents. She was supposed to be the protagonist alongside Leon in an early version of RE2 called RE1.5, she had nothing to do with Chris and was a race driver. It is Chris, Claire is refering to the way Chris expresing himself in the letter, it's just not him, obviously because was written in code. 1:57:52 "...the ones who survived that mansion" those people he's talking about are the members of STARS of the first game, Chris being one of them, that's why he's in Europe, to investigate Umbrella. Also, the next time you have to look for the hidden objects remember to double check the drawer in the STARS office, you'll get a film tape if you do it. TH-cam is very weird about restricting stuff, sorry you have to deal with it. Good news is that EVERYONE that gets big enough runs into problems with youtube like that eventually. If you haven't dealt with that as a content creator then you are either a very small channel, super lucky, or such a massive channel that TH-cam bends over backwords to please you. Just the 'joys' of youtube content creation. Glad your enjoying your Claire playthrough. And yeah you blaze through the stuff you know because your so much more familar with the game, controls, puzzles, enemies. Even with the 2nd playthrough changing stuff up on you like item and enemy placement, your skills from your first run is still there. Would be happy to watch a harder playthrough of Claire A and Leon B if you want to. After you finish Claire B of course!

This aint a spoiler, it just put things in context. Chris Redfield is one of the 2 protags from RE 1, and he is a special forces operative, so the dude is a bit of a badass.

Sorry to hear about the age restriction on your RE2 video. I also have a RE2 series on my channel that DIDN'T get slapped with a ban. ......and I have an extreme amount of swearing in my videos. I did however get Age Restricted on a 'Short' made from one of my RE2 video....but I managed to get that overturned after I pointed out that other creators have the same content without restrictions. How TH-cam decides What is/What isn't is very hit and miss. Not sure if you can make another appeal....but I would start making a noise about it. Anyways, love your videos and glad I found your channel.
When you beat your 2nd run, you unlock The 4th Survivor. Thats a single action packed level and if you beat that one, you are rewarded with the greatest thing ever. You can play as a giant piece of Tofu, I'm sure everyone wanna see that :D
In the original RE2 on PS1 there were 4 ways you could play the story, in the remake it looks like they ran out of time or money so cut a lot of corners. It's a good game but could have been much better with a true B side story. Would recommend playing the OG.
Originally, there wasn't going to be a 2nd Run mode in Resident Evil 2 remake. The developers were going to take the same approach that RE1 did, showing two versions of the same events, with the same bosses (including the true final boss being used for both characters). Essentially we would have gotten Leon A and Claire A. The fanbase found out about this and complained, so Capcom added the 2nd run at the last minute. That's why it feels rushed and not as well thought out as the original RE2's A&B scenarios.
The B route definitely requires some suspension of disbelief, but I still love how it works and that it just exists. Back in the PlayStation 1 era, you had several disks! For both Leon and Claire. It was such a cool experience. Your jacket is gorgeous, by the way, lol. So excited to continue the playthrough!

Would love to see a Claire A/Leon B playthrough on hardcore. And yes, you do get some more content experiencing it the inverse way. Personally I actually prefer doing Claire then Leon for my playthroughs. By the way; I believe shooting all the toy raccoons across both A and B scenarios unlocks the infinite knife, which is really nice.
Hey, Amber! I'm sorry about the video getting age restricted. I've heard from other TH-camrs that swearing back to back makes it more likely for your video to get age restricted. This in no way means that it's fair or right for them to do it but TH-cam's age restriction system is jank and this might help dodge future trouble in case you didn't know already. Anyways, I love your playthroughs and I'm recommending them to friends and other people on the internet even if TH-cam won't xD
I've tried to watch a few different people play through the RE games, but I get bored with all of them pretty quickly, but here I am watching all of these videos so completion. So you must be doing something right. Also, the way you've been doing the safe combinations confuses me so much. I would swear that that's not how those types of locks work, and yet it does.
I didn't expect RE2 to have built-in mechanics that serve as a commentary on the size of pockets in womens' fashion LOL! It's so frustrating to see youtube age restricting stuff from so many youtubers I follow (and seemingly not ever reviewing them properly.. I've seen folks lose out on 4+ hour essays they put an incredible amount of research into when they contained no adult content or swearing. Sometimes it seems with appeals that the youtube staff just don't feel like sitting through a long video to see if it should be restricted or not, and just decline the appeal outright. Wishing you better luck with this on the future videos, I'll be watching them either way!
Yes Claire! And thank you for using her default costume, that jacket is to die for. Claire is such a good person, she's so nice truly one of my favs. And yes, it is standard to play Claire A, Leon B (in RE2 original you got more content by playing Leon A/Claire B or Claire A/Leon B but on remake you get only one story) just be ready to repeat a lot of what Leon did.
I really do love the REmake as well, but I am completely with you buddy, I was severely disappointed how they completely ignored the opportunity to flesh out both scenarios and make them interact with each other way more along the playthrough. The fact they only see each other once in the RPD and then a brief thing in the end is just a missed opportunity imo@@rabidrobbie
I do miss the way the two scenarios could be played :D When a game is good we all want more of it, but I also understand the need to focus your resources and present the game in a timely manner. Great gameplay! I really enjoy the way you play. A few tips for you: You can still go back inside the manhole in the parking garage and you don't have to grab one shelf at a time, you can grab the most left one and it will push the others with it.
YES!! It's Claire time! This was a lovely treat to wake up to, and had the best Mr. X moments in the play through so far 😂. Oh and about the jacket in the STARS office, you are correct in thinking it belongs to Chris. Claire's matching "made in heaven" jacket was gift from him as well. :) And I'm so sorry that part 1 was age restricted, that's absolute rubbish. It's such a great video. And I would love to see you do a hardcore Claire A/Leon B run if or when you're up for it. 🙂Hardcore is a different enough experience after playing on standard, along with the variation on a few cut scenes to be well worth doing. On hardcore you get fewer inventory slots (the single biggest difficulty modifier imo), zombies move faster, lunge further and do more damage, you pick up and craft less ammo, no autosaves and you need to use an item to save at the typewriter. Leon B on hardcore is imho the most stressful scenario in the game hahaha. Oh and about the comment you referenced about the dynamic difficulty (i have no idea if that's true for this game) - if it is a thing it doesn't have any effect on resources. There is just a set amount of resources you can obtain, but it's pretty generous, especially on standard. Claire's scenario is also just straight up easier than Leon's, due to her path and her load-out imo. No nightmare scenario in the jail, no dogs in the garage area + being able to just one-shot lickers lol. The SMG + grenade launcher combo is so OP. It's also absolutely crazy to me that so many people are commenting here that Claire A/Leon B is canon or better from a story perspective (and I'm talking remake only here), when imo the opposite is true for so many reasons. Not least because Leon meeting Marvin & receiving his combat knife feels far more significant for his character and is very unarguably canon as of RE4 Remake, which does not happen in Claire A/Leon B, and is the only major story difference between each A/B scenario. Is this like a carry-over from the original where Claire A/Leon B is widely (and correctly) considered the canon version. No shade to anyone who just prefers playing it that way or like playing as Claire more but saying it's the "canon" play through in the remake is shady. 😌

Claire first imo makes more sense because of the scene where leon asks her, if she had found clues about her brother. that scene makes less sense, when leon is inside the sation first and claire is still outside.
Yes, also the ladder near the helicopter breaks in Leon's scenario, but not in Claire's, so she must have gone through the RPD before he did. Leon finding his uniform in a locker in the 2nd Run also makes more sense than him just randomly wearing it after meeting Marvin. Besides, Claire A/Leon B was the canon version of events in the original RE2.

I'm a bit late so I don't know if you will read this. It's unfortunate what happened with your video, but don't worry, if you managed to hit those numbers it means you can do it again sooner or later. I must say you look cool with that jacket, you are very similar to Claire with it and also the hairstyle. Yes, the second run is more of a what it scenario, the original was also like this but somethings like the bosses were differents.
I'll let you some timestamps of things you may have missed or maybe not understanded completely, I hope you read this because it could be useful.
4:09 That friend that write you the letter, if I'm not mistaken, is Elza Walker. She was supposed to be the protagonist alongside Leon in an early version of RE2 called RE1.5, she had nothing to do with Chris and was a race driver. She was later changed to be Claire Redfield and the developers made her a character related to Claire iin the Remake (you can even get her outfit in the costumes options).

1:57:52 "...the ones who survived that mansion" those people he's talking about are the members of STARS of the first game, Chris being one of them, that's why he's in Europe, to investigate Umbrella.
Also, the next time you have to look for the hidden objects remember to double check the drawer in the STARS office, you'll get a film tape if you do it.

TH-cam is very weird about restricting stuff, sorry you have to deal with it. Good news is that EVERYONE that gets big enough runs into problems with youtube like that eventually. If you haven't dealt with that as a content creator then you are either a very small channel, super lucky, or such a massive channel that TH-cam bends over backwords to please you. Just the 'joys' of youtube content creation.
Glad your enjoying your Claire playthrough. And yeah you blaze through the stuff you know because your so much more familar with the game, controls, puzzles, enemies. Even with the 2nd playthrough changing stuff up on you like item and enemy placement, your skills from your first run is still there.
Would be happy to watch a harder playthrough of Claire A and Leon B if you want to. After you finish Claire B of course!

This aint a spoiler, it just put things in context. Chris Redfield is one of the 2 protags from RE 1, and he is a special forces operative, so the dude is a bit of a badass.

Sorry to hear about the age restriction on your RE2 video. I also have a RE2 series on my channel that DIDN'T get slapped with a ban. ......and I have an extreme amount of swearing in my videos. I did however get Age Restricted on a 'Short' made from one of my RE2 video....but I managed to get that overturned after I pointed out that other creators have the same content without restrictions. How TH-cam decides What is/What isn't is very hit and miss. Not sure if you can make another appeal....but I would start making a noise about it. Anyways, love your videos and glad I found your channel.

When you beat your 2nd run, you unlock The 4th Survivor. Thats a single action packed level and if you beat that one, you are rewarded with the greatest thing ever. You can play as a giant piece of Tofu, I'm sure everyone wanna see that :D
In the original RE2 on PS1 there were 4 ways you could play the story, in the remake it looks like they ran out of time or money so cut a lot of corners. It's a good game but could have been much better with a true B side story. Would recommend playing the OG.
Originally, there wasn't going to be a 2nd Run mode in Resident Evil 2 remake. The developers were going to take the same approach that RE1 did, showing two versions of the same events, with the same bosses (including the true final boss being used for both characters). Essentially we would have gotten Leon A and Claire A. The fanbase found out about this and complained, so Capcom added the 2nd run at the last minute. That's why it feels rushed and not as well thought out as the original RE2's A&B scenarios.

The B route definitely requires some suspension of disbelief, but I still love how it works and that it just exists. Back in the PlayStation 1 era, you had several disks! For both Leon and Claire. It was such a cool experience. Your jacket is gorgeous, by the way, lol. So excited to continue the playthrough!

Claire A Leon B feels like canon version of the event story flow better, marvin and claire interaction is really different to leon.
Maybe the situation changed since then but I was recommended your part 1 of the series, that’s how I found your channel actually

Would love to see a Claire A/Leon B playthrough on hardcore. And yes, you do get some more content experiencing it the inverse way. Personally I actually prefer doing Claire then Leon for my playthroughs. By the way; I believe shooting all the toy raccoons across both A and B scenarios unlocks the infinite knife, which is really nice.
Hey, Amber! I'm sorry about the video getting age restricted. I've heard from other TH-camrs that swearing back to back makes it more likely for your video to get age restricted.
This in no way means that it's fair or right for them to do it but TH-cam's age restriction system is jank and this might help dodge future trouble in case you didn't know already.
Anyways, I love your playthroughs and I'm recommending them to friends and other people on the internet even if TH-cam won't xD

I've tried to watch a few different people play through the RE games, but I get bored with all of them pretty quickly, but here I am watching all of these videos so completion. So you must be doing something right.
Also, the way you've been doing the safe combinations confuses me so much. I would swear that that's not how those types of locks work, and yet it does.

It's so frustrating to see youtube age restricting stuff from so many youtubers I follow (and seemingly not ever reviewing them properly.. I've seen folks lose out on 4+ hour essays they put an incredible amount of research into when they contained no adult content or swearing. Sometimes it seems with appeals that the youtube staff just don't feel like sitting through a long video to see if it should be restricted or not, and just decline the appeal outright.

And yes, it is standard to play Claire A, Leon B (in RE2 original you got more content by playing Leon A/Claire B or Claire A/Leon B but on remake you get only one story) just be ready to repeat a lot of what Leon did.
I really do love the REmake as well, but I am completely with you buddy, I was severely disappointed how they completely ignored the opportunity to flesh out both scenarios and make them interact with each other way more along the playthrough. The fact they only see each other once in the RPD and then a brief thing in the end is just a missed opportunity imo@@rabidrobbie

When a game is good we all want more of it, but I also understand the need to focus your resources and present the game in a timely manner. Now, RE3 remake on the other hand...look they did Jill dirty! (kicks a table) not including her iconic victory phrase (grumble, grumble) @@@rabidrobbie
Great gameplay! I really enjoy the way you play. A few tips for you: You can still go back inside the manhole in the parking garage and you don't have to grab one shelf at a time, you can grab the most left one and it will push the others with it.
YES!! It's Claire time! This was a lovely treat to wake up to, and had the best Mr. X moments in the play through so far 😂. Oh and about the jacket in the STARS office, you are correct in thinking it belongs to Chris. Claire's matching "made in heaven" jacket was gift from him as well. :)
And I'm so sorry that part 1 was age restricted, that's absolute rubbish. It's such a great video.
And I would love to see you do a hardcore Claire A/Leon B run if or when you're up for it. 🙂Hardcore is a different enough experience after playing on standard, along with the variation on a few cut scenes to be well worth doing. On hardcore you get fewer inventory slots (the single biggest difficulty modifier imo), zombies move faster, lunge further and do more damage, you pick up and craft less ammo, no autosaves and you need to use an item to save at the typewriter. Leon B on hardcore is imho the most stressful scenario in the game hahaha. Oh and about the comment you referenced about the dynamic difficulty (i have no idea if that's true for this game) - if it is a thing it doesn't have any effect on resources. There is just a set amount of resources you can obtain, but it's pretty generous, especially on standard. Claire's scenario is also just straight up easier than Leon's, due to her path and her load-out imo. No nightmare scenario in the jail, no dogs in the garage area + being able to just one-shot lickers lol. The SMG + grenade launcher combo is so OP.
It's also absolutely crazy to me that so many people are commenting here that Claire A/Leon B is canon or better from a story perspective (and I'm talking remake only here), when imo the opposite is true for so many reasons. Not least because Leon meeting Marvin & receiving his combat knife feels far more significant for his character and is very unarguably canon as of RE4 Remake, which does not happen in Claire A/Leon B, and is the only major story difference between each A/B scenario. Is this like a carry-over from the original where Claire A/Leon B is widely (and correctly) considered the canon version. No shade to anyone who just prefers playing it that way or like playing as Claire more but saying it's the "canon" play through in the remake is shady. 😌

It’s ridiculous on the age restriction and how it’s nearly impossible to fight against it. Your playthroughs are crazy fun and interesting, having watched your DS1, Alice and now RE2R, I’ll be a long time viewer. As long as you still enjoy this I hope you keep it going!!!
You know a game is good when you beat it but are still excited to replay it again. It happens rarely, I think, but it's so awesome when it does.

Claire first imo makes more sense because of the scene where leon asks her, if she had found clues about her brother. that scene makes less sense, when leon is inside the sation first and claire is still outside.
Yes, also the ladder near the helicopter breaks in Leon's scenario, but not in Claire's, so she must have gone through the RPD before he did.
Leon finding his uniform in a locker in the 2nd Run also makes more sense than him just randomly wearing it after meeting Marvin.
Besides, Claire A/Leon B was the canon version of events in the original RE2.
@@Rocket1377 Oh yes, those also are true. I really wonder, why they structured the Menu in a way that Leon ist basically indicated to be chosen first. I think they mislead players a bit :D.
