I do the same thing everytime I play a new game...The environmental details can really make a game world feel lived in, plus you can find some really cool easter eggs every once in a while!
I'm glad you noticed the Supply Case drop. Nemesis drops a new one during every new encounter with him. So it's good to stun him at least once every time you see him.
Just a heads up, a mechanic the game doesn't mention is that immediately after you hit a perfect dodge and the screen flashes white, if you hit the aim button, you lock onto the enemy you dodged and you get a few pot shots in slow motion. I didn't think you'd pick this one up so soon and I had fun watching. It'd be great to see you play the remake of the first one down the road because that game is a whole different beast. For now though, I'm just enjoying seeing you play through the new remakes.

Only reason I knew about it was because shortly after I played the demo when it released, I looked up other people playing it and there were already videos of people beating nemesis with a knife using the dodge slow motion lol. Funny thing is, I own every main game in the franchise, but I'm too scared to play most of them, so I haven't even beaten 3 remake lmao. I've only played through 1 remake, 4 remake, 5, and 6, those last two being the least scary in the entire main franchise.

@@brucepreston3927 if you ever pick up 5 and 6, DO NOT play those solo lol. 5 would be okay solo if the AI partner wasn't trash, and even though your partner is invincible in 6, that game is a miserable experience if you don't have anyone to laugh at that game with. 5 is one of my favorite co op games of all time, 6 is painfully mediocre, but the set pieces are ridiculous and fun to laugh at with a friend.
Your eye make up is very "a clockwork orange" to me. Which is pretty cool A really fun an entertaining episode, I was looking forward to seeing how you'd cope with turning all the red rooms blue when things got hectic and you didn't disappoint. Loved it

Your first reaction to how Nemesis can run and sprint towards you is just hilarious. I remember playing the original RE3 when I was a kid, and couldn’t finish the game because I was terrified of Nemesis.
The combination safes have multiple ways to unlock. Perhaps the designers thought that some players wouldn't know how to open a combination lock. The way you do it is one way, but the easiest way is just to turn to the number on the dial corresponding to the combination. You may have made a mistake the first time you tried it that way, hence it didn't work.

You go to the right all the way around once and then get 3, then to the left again and hit 7. The developers assumed not everyone knew that so they also made it work if you simply just went Left 9 numbers, Right 3 numbers, and Left 7 numbers
Exactly, you saw Jill Valentine's desk in RE2. She's the main character of the 1rst game, along with Chris Redfield. Playing the first game is recommended, the 2002 remake is still a solid game.

"Why's everyone swooning over Leon" was a genuinely funny reaction to meeting Carlos. 😂 Dude had the single most jaw-dropping glow-up in the entire franchise, even his hilarious hair model can't ruin it. And as a grown woman I would tend to agree that Carlos very much has it over baby-Leon buuuuuut, swole-Leon clears all the other husbands and waifus without even trying 😂 I'm loving this, it was a blast and such a good surprise to see it pop up so quickly! You smashed it of course. 😌 I've only played RE3R a couple of times so I really enjoyed reading through all the lore again, I'd forgotten how great that aspect of the game was. Also Jill ❤I love Nicole Tompkins' voice, she's soooo good. I really wish I found this game as engaging and enjoyable to replay as the others but I just don't. I just can't take Nemmy seriously 😂 His teeth look like bunny teeth and I just can't see see anything else, he's a total doofus in the remake. Once you realise just how scripted he is and how easy he is to disable using the environment with zero cost to your supplies, all tension just disappears from the game on replays. :( There's still plenty to love about it though, might be time to give it a shot on inferno after Alan Wake 2. 🥰
I think the difference in behaviours between Mr. X and Nemesis make sense, since I think Mr. X is just hunting for survivors while Nemesis is looking for you specifically, though my memory has been known to be unreliable. Loving the playthrough so far!

Combination locks usually have you turn the dial and stop on the specified number then turn the opposite direction to stop on the next specified number. Back the other way to the final number and stop then the lock is released. Turning by counting clicks makes it so where you start on the dial doesn't matter. I guess the devs anticipated people not understanding since you rarely see combo locks used anymore. Most things like safes that used to use them now use number pads and batteries.
Just want to say, I appreciate the effort putting on different outfits, for different let's plays as well as regarding the current spooky season. And again your level headed approach on these games :D Always fun to watch!

So excited for this, Amber! Your RE2 playthroughs were some of the best I’ve seen and a perfect decision for spooky month. Personally I’d suggest playing the REmake next instead of 4 to cap off the original trilogy but if you stick with 4 next I’ll still be watching! Hope you enjoy 3, it’s a good game that classic fans often dislike due to cut content from the original but it’s not at all bad. It’s great on its own, just wanted to give some context if people get dramatic about it. Wishing you and Walton the best!

This game follow up Jill's story, she was one of the protagonist in RE1 at the Spencer Mansion (mentioned in files). Nemesis is a fury compare to Mr.X who is in a way a very relaxed killing machine. And for curiosity, yes he was human, more specifically, french. Also, when you hear him talk, he is saying STARS because you are his mission. Jill knows Robert Kendo because his brother Joseph Kendo is the one who made the weapons for the members of STARS and Robert is the man who knows how to sel them, so they have history. 2:26:05 Also, in this part if I'm not mistaken, you are hearing a reference of some character from the RE game called Outbreak. This a multiplayer RE where you could choose a character and play with other people to survive and complete the level in different areas around Raccon City, and it has its own history so it's very cool.

Jill kinda predicts the outbreak since in Resident Evil 1 she was one of the team members that were involved in the Spencer Mansion incident. Actually you play as her and Chris Redfield (Claire's brother) in the first game (they have like a platonic relationship throughout the series to the point it has become a meme). It just happens that her S.T.A.R.S superiors were involved in the Racoon City outbreak thus putting her out of the investigation department and that's why she wans to leave the city at the beggining.

Especially when Nemesis practically destroyed the house at the very beginning. 2:21:06 - If you ever replay RE2 and RE3, keep in mind that it is better to first use a medicine with Red Herb (it reduces damage for a while) - this will allow you to survive more hits before the next treatment with a spray that has no effects.
I'm loving your Resident Evil playthroughs! This game is definitely much shorter than RE2, but I still love playing it! It's nice to have a game that I can sit down and beat on a day off work...I really think you will like the RE4 Remake...They did such a good job with it, and I always miss the roundhouse kicking everytime I play RE2 and RE3! lol

That was such a good first foray into RE3! You've picked up the dodge mechanic so quickly! I've seen plenty of people go the entire game without using it once. I also really really hope you explore the rest of the Resident Evil universe after this (If you want to of course). RE1 would be a good one after this to get some prior context to RE2 and 3. Maybe RE4 after that so we can see our boy Leon again? RE7 then 8 would be super fun to see too! I know that's a lot, no pressure, just one mans hopes :) Either way, you're killing it!

I enjoyed your playthrough of RER2. It's interesting watching new players experience Resident Evil through the remakes. Can't wait to see you play the rest of the series. My first was RE4 (2005) and I played them backwards till 0. The remakes have been a treat in terms of really experiencing the horror ambience and environment that was limited in the originals. Love that you realize there's an incentive "to bully" Nemesis 🤣 Kick his ass!
when you were fighting the dogs in the alley way, you did whats known as a "perfect dodge", or "Valen-time", its basically when you hit the dodge button at the perfect moment, just before a strike lands - if you press the aim button once youve performed that, everything goes slow-mo and you get a second or two where you'll auto-aim for the enemy's head and your shots will deal more damage.
One thing I've noticed through both these games is you aiming the grenade launcher near enemies feet like you are throwing a regular grenade at them. You want to hit them straight on.
Regarding safe combos, it ultimately doesn't matter since how you're doing it works as far as the game is concerned lol. If you're interested though, left 9, right 3, left 7 would be spin left stopping on 9 (if you look closely at the dial there's a hashmark at the very top), spin right 1 complete time passing 1st digit (9) stop on 3, spin left stop on 7.
When nemesis showed up through that brick wall, all I could think was... wow, wouldn't it be nice to have a shotgun about now. A shotgun...that we knew where it was... lol Still though. Just run and dodge, that's how to deal with him for most of the game. Also every time you down Nemesis he drops items for you... all in all though I'm super excited that you're still going through Resident Evil. My fav. of your series' by far.
2:11:00 RE3R was supposed to be a single game bundled with RE2R. They decided to sell them individually because money. That's why 3 is shorter and has a lot of cut content, and the same assets as 2. It's basically a DLC of 2.

1:25:33 - If I’m not confusing anything, if you cause significant damage to Nemesis, it is stunned, and the player is given a bonus in the form of a supply case.
1:42:56 - Game convention, of course, but what an absurd situation.) Especially when Nemesis practically destroyed the house at the very beginning.
2:21:06 - If you ever replay RE2 and RE3, keep in mind that it is better to first use a medicine with Red Herb (it reduces damage for a while) - this will allow you to survive more hits before the next treatment with a spray that has no effects.

I'm loving your Resident Evil playthroughs! This game is definitely much shorter than RE2, but I still love playing it! It's nice to have a game that I can sit down and beat on a day off work...I really think you will like the RE4 Remake...They did such a good job with it, and I always miss the roundhouse kicking everytime I play RE2 and RE3! lol

That was such a good first foray into RE3! You've picked up the dodge mechanic so quickly! I've seen plenty of people go the entire game without using it once. I also really really hope you explore the rest of the Resident Evil universe after this (If you want to of course). RE1 would be a good one after this to get some prior context to RE2 and 3. Maybe RE4 after that so we can see our boy Leon again? RE7 then 8 would be super fun to see too! I know that's a lot, no pressure, just one mans hopes :) Either way, you're killing it!

A fact that cannot be understated, this game came out in March 2020, the height of the first Covid 19 lockdown. The opening newsposition made everyone go "Hmm...."

I'm loving this continued Resident Evil session. Hoping you play 4 next. I just beat it two days ago and it was fantastic. RE and FF are the two series that not only nail the remakes but actually take everything good about the original games and just makes them even better. Wondering if you would ever do a FFVII R play through?

I enjoyed your playthrough of RER2. It's interesting watching new players experience Resident Evil through the remakes. Can't wait to see you play the rest of the series. My first was RE4 (2005) and I played them backwards till 0. The remakes have been a treat in terms of really experiencing the horror ambience and environment that was limited in the originals.
Love that you realize there's an incentive "to bully" Nemesis 🤣 Kick his ass!
when you were fighting the dogs in the alley way, you did whats known as a "perfect dodge", or "Valen-time", its basically when you hit the dodge button at the perfect moment, just before a strike lands - if you press the aim button once youve performed that, everything goes slow-mo and you get a second or two where you'll auto-aim for the enemy's head and your shots will deal more damage.
Love the look, fitting with the time of year (here in Merica at least) and the game you're playing!
One thing I've noticed through both these games is you aiming the grenade launcher near enemies feet like you are throwing a regular grenade at them. You want to hit them straight on.
This is such a fun game! So glad to be on this ResEvil journey with you!

Regarding safe combos, it ultimately doesn't matter since how you're doing it works as far as the game is concerned lol. If you're interested though, left 9, right 3, left 7 would be spin left stopping on 9 (if you look closely at the dial there's a hashmark at the very top), spin right 1 complete time passing 1st digit (9) stop on 3, spin left stop on 7.
I hope you play 7 and 8 as well! 7 is one of the scariest games I’ve ever played!

When nemesis showed up through that brick wall, all I could think was... wow, wouldn't it be nice to have a shotgun about now. A shotgun...that we knew where it was... lol Still though. Just run and dodge, that's how to deal with him for most of the game. Also every time you down Nemesis he drops items for you... all in all though I'm super excited that you're still going through Resident Evil. My fav. of your series' by far.
This one came out just as Covid quarantine was starting, the intro hit super hard
2:11:00 RE3R was supposed to be a single game bundled with RE2R. They decided to sell them individually because money. That's why 3 is shorter and has a lot of cut content, and the same assets as 2. It's basically a DLC of 2.
