2:30 Would you rather trade Q (9) for a R and Q (14 points) or a Rook (5) for a Queen (9)...Re1+ is winning, but Qxc8+ is better. Also, when you are winning, it is better to trade/remove more material from the board usually. Love your videos GM Igor!!!
at 9:28, if white plays Qxh7, and then black plays Kf8, the queen is trapped is it not? Or am I missing a move for white here? I think Bxg6 needs to happen first. Or am I missing something??
After Kf8, white plays Nxe8, attacking the black queen, if the black plays Rxh5 you capture their queen on c7 and you won a rook. If black decides to take the knight on e8 you slide the queen to g7 and you won the exchange and a pawn.
In situations when i have no attacks and my opponent also has no attacks , sometimes you say to prepare an attack for the next move, sometimes you say to follow the rule of the least active piece. What idea should I prioritize? Or should I try to apply that two ideas at the same time? I am waiting for your answer. Thanks.
Either of the following: 1) ...Qxc1+, Rxc1 Bxd4. Now you have a bishop and 2 rooks against a rook and a bishop (+5) OR 2) Re1+, Rxe1(Only move) Bxd4. Now you have a queen, rook and bishop against 2 rooks and a bishop.(+4) I wrote this before watching the answer. I didn't know you'd announce the answer😭😭
The solution to the puzzle should be ... Re1+ forking the white king and rook. So white is forced to play Rxe1 and then black can play Bxd4, winning a queen by sacrificing the rook

Re1+!! It's even better

Make some video for black how to counter queen gambit

Re1+ Rxe1 (is forced, deflects the Rook from attacking the Queen) Bxd4 wins a Queen for a Rook!

Rxe1

I am your fan
