Helpful video, thank you. Can do without the “breast or chest” comments. It’s just breastfeeding. Don’t insult the uniqueness of a woman’s body by insinuating a male can feed a baby. You’re just referring to a confused female.

Yes agreed. My hospital labor room’s patient preferences board listed me as a “birthing person” and I will not be erased in language in submission to a marketing grift colonized in classrooms k-college by the very same stakeholders profiting from exploiting delusion & fetish, now sterilizingChildren andAutists
My guy helped by crossing it out and writing “mother”
Sadly, the CDChas now come out in endorsement of s-xually abusing a baby, so that autogynephile pedophilic men with a lactation fetish can exploit an infant’s suckling reflex for titillation
The CDCendorses using babies as a s-x props, while also endorsing synthetic T drug use in breastfeeding mothers (wouldn’t want to pause the money train)
It’s no longer about what is best for the baby, rather, what lines the pockets of the industry

This irritates me because breast is an anatomical term. Men and women both have breasts. So even if someone is trans and wants to nurse, it’s still feeding from a breast. Calling it chest feeding is just virtue signalling.

I have an oversupply and did with my first which wasn’t an issue. This time around I ended up taking my baby to the ER because he was projectile vomiting after every feed. They diagnosed him with GERD. Today he had his follow up with his ped and his dr caught it super fast. He’s 2 weeks old and had gained 2lbs in 1.5 weeks and that’s when we realized he’s not suffering from GERD he’s overeating because of my oversupply! Didn’t know that was possible but figured I’d share for other moms! Now we’re feeding one breast each feed and burping every 5 minutes and I’ll be using the haaka for the other breast every 4-5 hours. I do not pump at all but when I use the haaka or hand express I can get 8oz while feeding on the other breast. With my first I would pump 16-20oz every 2-3 hours but it never affected her negatively.

Thanks. This includes some info I hadn’t heard (in 8 years of breastfeeding 4 babies).
I would like to learn more about bringing hormones into balance as I’m sure that’s the cause of my issues.
Important to Note that many cases of mastitis are simply inflammatory and do not require antibiotics. Better for mom AND baby if we can avoid all unnecessary antibiotics.
Rest is so important for recovery from mastitis, plus feeding baby frequently on the infected side, fluids, nourishment, and more rest.

She is now 40days old , weight during birth 2.740kg, present weight 3.740kg. Now i have started to decrease the time of feeding to 10 minutes and giving gap of 1 hour. Earliar i used to latch her till she feeds and feeded her when she demanded. What should i do if she sleeps continuously for 3 hours should i wake her up in between and feed ?

You should try to window feed during the night, meaning for example for 4hours only 1 breast if your baby is asking every 2 - 3hours to feed. Also if you have a strong letdown maybe pumping until the letdown comes and as soon as the letdown stops you can breastfeed your baby.

My baby is 2 months and I have had an oversupply since he was born. Only on days that I don't drink enough water then it's more manageable but then I feel awful and dizzy. I've done block feeding right from the start but I'm not sure if it's helped at all. I only pump when I'm going to go out to a public place the next day... so in total mabey 4 times since I've had him. He's passing winds the whole night, choking when I feed him and vomiting almost every time I feed him. Luckily he's still healthy and everything but he's always in pain after a feed

I had an over supply for my first . He would feed constantly and end up vomiting. Due to it he lost lots of weight. The only support i had at the moment from a professional was his pediatrician who decided formula was best. He even called breastmilk water.
Currently pregnant with my second and trying to find all the support i didn’t have the first time around.
When you mention expressing milk prior to feeding would it be a hand expression or would a haakaa work out? I’m trying to research the best i can.

Hi! Try not to worry so much about whether or not you are able to get your baby to burp. If you try these techniques for 5 or so minutes and your baby doesn’t burp, it’s really ok. If your baby seems to be having stomach discomfort or “trapped gas” I recommend checking in with your baby’s doctor for other suggestions. Don’t lose sleep over trying to burp your baby. The gas May also come out the other end when they pass gas. You are doing great. Congratulations on exclusively breastfeeding

I have an oversupply and experience recurrent clogged ducts. I have a mastitis infection right now and I was wondering if you could make a video on how to prevent and treat clogged ducts when you have an oversupply. Also, I was wondering if clogged ducts could make me start making less milk and lead to an undersupply if they are recurrent.

Hi Rose. This is a great idea for a video topic. Uggg so sorry to hear about the mastitis, it can be absolutely awful and I hope you are getting treated by your Doctor. Recurrent clogged ducts can lead to lower supply, but the good news is that your supply can rebound after a few days of treating the clogs and good milk emptying.

Take baby off when you let down if you can feel it ? Release milk into Muslin then put baby back on.
Make sure your diet is clean, plenty of fruit and vegetables and whole foods. No processed food. A lot of breastfed babies don’t do well with dairy in mums diet.

If I pump the breast, is the first milk foremilk with high carbs and the later part of expressed milk, hind milk with high fats? I ask this because I pump and express a lot and my baby is very gassy and has reflux too
    1. So can I separate first few ounces in one bottle as foremilk and later ounces as hind milk?

My 7 week old for the past 2 weeks has started refusing to breastfeed when I have a let down. He comes off the breast and cries profusely. I have tried laid back breastfeeding, pumping a little before so it isn't a harsh let down, let the let down fall into a towel, and nothing works. I'm so sad because I end up feeding him with a bottle because he refused to drink at the breast. I'm so sad that I might have to stop, I have had many consults with a lactation specialist and they just tell me to keep doing the above but it's been weeks. I have no idea what to do

    • @KassiReyes
      @KassiReyes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Awwww mama, it sounds like you have done all the right things. This could be a possible period of nursing strike due to him initial being stressed from an overactive letdown. It is possible to work through periods of a nursing strike, You may need to try taking a break from trying to latch him for a bit (keep pumping to protect your supply). For a few days do lots of skin to skin and perhaps try cobathing. Make time at the chest about comfort and snuggles and let him explore and look for the breast on his own if he initiates. Don't force it, and things may turn around in a few days.
