    Both the Ray 2 and the Kamasu have the same F6922 movement, something that should have been mentioned earlier in this review. So, same movement, same bracelet quality, lume about equal. Kamasu has a sapphire crystal and easier to turn bezel. IMO, the price difference between the two divers is not justified. Yes, the Kamasu should cost somewhat more, but not as much more as it does than the Ray 2.

      I agree with you. But ever since I made this video, the price of the Orient Kamasu has dropped. So it is a more compelling option now. Thanks for watching 💪

    Thanks for the comparison, very good. The ray ii was the best value watch I ever owned miss it a little so will certainty buy the kamasu the crown was a total pain and the mineral crystal was easy to scratch so very happy to give another €80 or so for an improvement. Both great watches though which ever you get you will love it, most practical too. Better quality than most Seiko's I have in this range.

    I like both. I have to say that the blue dial on the ray 2 is gorgeous! Several reviewers have mentioned the small and difficult to use crown on the ray 2, some even say it feels "fragile" which makes me feel somewhat uneasy about it.
    Good review, I learned a lot about each watch. I really like the Orient brand I must say. I wish they were both made entirely in Japan though.

    • @NMwatch
      @NMwatch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've made another video after this one reviewing the Ray 2 in orange colour. It seems like they have improved the crown grip and the bezel grip. So if you don't really need the sapphire crystal, then the cheaper option would be the Ray 2 or Mako 2. But if that sapphire makes the difference, the Kamasu or latest Kamasu version is the better watch. Thanks for watching 😎

      Wobbly crown? I've handled quite a lot of Orient but never found such issue. I'd say go for the Kamasu if you can find it for less than USD250. That's the price point that I'm willing to pay for it. Thanks for watching!

  • @maciej2843
    @maciej2843 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I have both of them. Bezel in Ray II is stiffer, but ZERO movement back. Yes in Kamasu is "gripp'ier". But moves back one step freely!!! Secondly, what is a downgrade in Kamasu and I dont'like (and I have a Limited Edition Kamasu) is that the seconds marking are just painted on the flat surface of dial. And on Ray II they are painted on a 45 degrees rim- so they are better visible even from one meter. And the seconds markings are barely visible in general, especially arond 12 to 15 Oclock in Kamasu. I dont know why Orient did this step back.

    I got the Red Kamasu and the watch is amazing. So so beautifull but only problem that i have with it is the crown screwing in its hard. Did you find crown screwing on Ray 2 the same or worst? Cuz i think to pick Mako 2 blue. Cheers!

    • @NMwatch
      @NMwatch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man. Generally, the Kamasu crown & bezel is an improvement over the more difficult to screw in crown and bezel of the Mako/Ray 2. So, if you went ahead and buy an older or used Mako 2, it's going to be a huge pain in the ass. But if you buy new Makos/Rays, they've used the crown/bezel that was used on the Kamasu. You can check my Orient Ray 2 Orange review and it that video, I clearly pointed the difference between the old vs new. Thanks for watching bro

    Orient Ray 2 for these reason:
    1. more aftermarket bracelet choices which taper to 18mm and solid end links. Ie. strapcode.
    2. can pop in a sapphire crystal on the ray 2 for AUD $60, still cheaper than the Kamsu is selling for. I've done this myself and it transforms the Ray 2, to a very nice watch.
    3. personally i prefer the cleaner design and not a fan of the seconds markers being halfway overlapped by the indices. Looks like a messy design to me. Wish they had not done that, looks unusual.
    i do prefer the bezel shape on the kamasu though...

      Hello there. A solid end link is when the link that meets the case is made of a full metal link, not a hollow piece. You can check out my video on the NTH Sub Barracuda to see how they look like. It's better compared to the hollow ones, because if you use the watch just on the bracelet for a longer period of time, they will somehow bent in/out and doesn't match the case anymore.
