For those whom are wondering i believe the reason the necrons took the bodies of the space marines is because they wanted physical form again, but bodies of other species are simply too frail when compared to the natural necrontyr forms before they become the necrons but that necron scientists believed that the bodies of the space maries is strong enough for the necrons.
The original necrontyr bodies were actually extremely frail and riddled with tumors. That's why the biotranferrence was initiated. And btw, not all necrons want to reverse the biotransferrence.
Normal necrons warriors aren't good fighters but they can pack a serious punch with their gauss weapons. They can also resurrect and enter the battlefield due to their superior self-repair system granted to them by their necrodermis body.
Necron warriors have two advantages, persistence, and the ability to keep getting back up. They have no intelligence or initiative, so compared to an Astartes that especially gets the drop on them, it's not that much of a contest. That ability to get back up again is what wins their wars however.
The saddest moment is the apothecary slapping Sa'kan's hand away. He couldn't countenance any human connection even as he was dying. All that mattered was the geneseed. And then he died alone.
All apothecaries are trained to retrieve geneseed. This isn’t a biologis, despite the Gravis armor. He has a reductor pistol instead of the stasis pack
@AbrahamJoachim-s6e I got the Blood Angels box set, so I'm waiting eagerly for that to come in. Beyond that, Hellblasters look very very interesting. Also, another Cerastus class knight sounds appealing, but I really need to start on making my Lancer... Edit: And another squad of Terminators. Or well, another box to finish my squad. Now I have to wonder: what about the Apothecary’s gene seed? Is that not also important to the chapter? Or is it considered a reasonable trade-off. One gene seed in return for Emperor know’s how many others
In all likely hood the apoc made the split moment decision of instead leaving himself exposed and removing his own geneseed, which is much more difficult if said individual is alive at the time especially on the self, to instead ensure the survival of the geneseed already secured by giving it to the salamander and trying to buy time for his escape. There would also be no garuntee that he would have been able to remove his genesead in time before he was fully distinegrated, all the while necrons were advancing on their position
An Apothecary with the heavy primaris armor he a medic for space marines but they also have the duty to collect gene seed the material needed to make space marines from the fallen
shouldn't ceramite be able to tank a hit or two from a gauss rifle? what's the purpose of space marine armor if they're going to go down just as easily as if they were wearing just standard issue guard level armor? i guess he took more than 1 shot, but still 1 shot almost completely made him combat ineffective.
The only other civilizations, that can nearly compete with necron technology are the Eldar and the T´au, but they both are still millenia away from the necrons.
You are acting as if the marines were having an easy time fighting all those necrons. The only reason our duo even managed to survive for that long was their enhanced speed and reaction time. And we all saw what happened to that apothecary in the end.
Necrons warriors aren't good fighters, mate. Wtf? They're literally necrontyr civilians given robotic bodies, they're not that special. They are just lumbering meatshields compared to their more advanced kindred like the destroyers or the scary deathmarks.
