I've read many times that people wondering if they are a real chapter or not. So they are called Retributors . it's a chapter who is operating in small numbers against high risk targets. Their emblem is a "hand holding a skull" you can see it on the left shoulder plate , you can see it on the chest plate too ( but that's the complete insignia of the chapter") They are a Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fist (7th Chapter) You can also tell the "squads" and "ranks" - The 5 Astares assualting are the 'IMPULSORs' , the symbol ("Chevron" - those upward arrows/V shape on their right shoulder plate and helmet indicates that, (they are the squad that leads the strategy , relentlessly engaging and re-deploying themself to pursuit their objective, also encouraged to act independently from other squads) The 1 who runs away after the warning at 9:40 is a member of the Tactical Squad ( "the horizontal arrow pointing both way" symbol on the right shoulder plate indicates that) The 2 who kills the "possesed unlucky one" are Veterans ( Their helmet symbol "iron cross with I" indicates that), the one who has the cape also has "Laurel Wreath" - (symbol of Military Victory) symbol on the helmet which means he has a higher Rank than the other one. (If there would be a commander his helmet would have a symbol of Skull instead of Iron Cross with a Laurel Wreath and a Golden Halo extension to it.) I hope it helps a bit for those who got confused. Cheers!
So... are they real? You gave information, but didn't establish if they're canonical or not. Anyone can make their own Chapter with lore. Hell, I've been thinking about my own Chapter that specializes in aquatic combat/deep sea missions underwater
11:23 You'd have to have balls that even Astartes would respect to pit your psychic might against Tzeentch himself... all in the effort to save the lives of Space Marines. That psyker knew he was dead the moment he made the decision. Here's to you, Psyker.
I don't think that's what that is, the psyker. From what it looks like, the second of the orb-like entities pulls the astartes strike-team into the warp (perhaps to travel?), only to then be attacked by a warp demon and immediately die. Sending the astartes flying randomly out into space onto a random planet.
I'm so happy the creator was hired officially, but after watching the official edit of his amazing series I can't help but fear the influence that GW will force upon him. I think most people hope for the best and that more animated 40K comes out of this partnership and the idea of seeing copywritten characters animated by this creator is amazing, but I hope I'm not just wishful thinking.
They should have hired him to do more amazing stuff for them, hands off, instead they hired him to do stuff they want him to make, take his vids down off YT and slapped an Instagram filter over the originals. I don't really have hope for the continuation on this and how much they'll ruin it with their grabby hands. Going after fan made movies and either suing them or consuming them is scummy enough on its own. The amount of people that got introduced to warhammer via this, peaked their interest... Then GWs greed does its thing as it always does..

There's a lot of trash media that focuses on trivial politics more than story, and most of them completely forget the rule of cool. Really goes to show how serious warp fuckery is. Technically, that inquisitor was miles ahead in authority above everyone on that ship, the inquisition itself only being held accountable by the emperor, gulliman and itself (I do not know what rank he holds within the inquisition but the job at hand looks to be of most importance so its safe to assume he is no pleb). The second he gets possesed its straight to the head exploding punch and mag dump. He probably trained for decades to even begin being a pleb in the inquisition, being one of a select few psykers who were not given as fuel to the emperor. Then its more decades of climbing ranks until being accepted as an inquisitor. Not to mention the incredible concentration and power required to monitor and spy undetected on these orbs. Then in one second of concentration breaking as he warns the astartes, the warp gets him and he gets executed on the spot. Damn.

Astartes marked the end of the golden age of free fan animations whereas, Helsreach fan animation by Richard Boyland marked its beginning. Between Helsreach and Astartes we've seen some truly amazing warhammer fan animation projects. One of which was death of hope which really captured the barbarism of it all. Those people really made something cool and good. Since Warhammer+ there has been little hype over 40k animations, we are getting a ton of series and some look mindfuckingly great. Angels Of Death was everything one could have hoped for, despite the areas where they fail.
I was never into Warhammer, but I would watch an entire series like this. The level of detail was so well done , I felt like I understood the lore without even knowing it. Amazing.
Its unbelievable how well this series is able to convey information visually. How it uses visual language to give you all the information you need to understand what is going on in every action sequence. Highlighted in the scene where they fight the psycher. It builds up slow, letting you see how their powers work, then giving you some pause to think. The pieces slowly fall into place before in one rapid fire series of shots everything falls in place. By telling you everything slowly and deliberatly at start you understand exactly what the space marines are doing in those few seconds. Compare that to dogshit super hero films where people will just punch the shit out of eachother senselessly for a while until the plot decides that now one character is wounded so the fight is over.

One of the most consistent tropes seen in sci fi is the ammo counter on guns, and warhammer is the first in my opinion and knowledge to get it right because rather than it being on the side of the gun it's below the rear sites where the shooter can see it more easily. Trust me. When daemon possessions are involved, there is no such thing as overkill. Just making sure.
Thats not actually a priest but a Psyker, Priests in 40k are rarely psychic as Psykers are seen as mutants/second class citizens.
@@forickgrimaldus8301 that's actually a inquisitor
I've read many times that people wondering if they are a real chapter or not.
So they are called Retributors . it's a chapter who is operating in small numbers against high risk targets.
Their emblem is a "hand holding a skull" you can see it on the left shoulder plate , you can see it on the chest plate too ( but that's the complete insignia of the chapter")
They are a Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fist (7th Chapter)
You can also tell the "squads" and "ranks" -
The 5 Astares assualting are the 'IMPULSORs' , the symbol ("Chevron" - those upward arrows/V shape on their right shoulder plate and helmet indicates that, (they are the squad that leads the strategy , relentlessly engaging and re-deploying themself to pursuit their objective, also encouraged to act independently from other squads)
The 1 who runs away after the warning at 9:40 is a member of the Tactical Squad ( "the horizontal arrow pointing both way" symbol on the right shoulder plate indicates that)
The 2 who kills the "possesed unlucky one" are Veterans ( Their helmet symbol "iron cross with I" indicates that), the one who has the cape also has "Laurel Wreath" - (symbol of Military Victory) symbol on the helmet which means he has a higher Rank than the other one.
(If there would be a commander his helmet would have a symbol of Skull instead of Iron Cross with a Laurel Wreath and a Golden Halo extension to it.)
I hope it helps a bit for those who got confused. Cheers!

There is nothing to imply that was Tzeentch lol. Some sort of warp entity no doubt

Hope for the best, but with GW... prepare for the worst
Influence? I think you mean just straight up telling him what to do sadly.
they supposedly canned the project he was hired on for as well.
@@FloofersFX Have you seen the new Chaosgate trailer? Well more teaser but it seems like he influenced it and if he did then it looks like they gave him enough freedom to still do an amazing job!

Like how there wasn’t even the slightest hesitation in punching and mag dumping that inquisitor really shows how serious the astartes are also I like how at 11:38 when the shock of being teleported wore off the marine immediately thinks “oh shit where am
I”
Really goes to show how serious warp fuckery is.
Damn.

No, I thanked him for exactly what I intended; the combining of all the parts into a single film.
Moreover, your comment is baseless.
1) You have no idea how many people, like me, saw each part when it released, and then rewatched it here.
2) You have no idea how many view _this_ video generated for the originals by crediting them. I always go out of my way to watch things on the original creator's channel to contribute to them, and I doubt I'm alone in that. People may have seen this vid first, and a portion of them would have likely have gone to the originals.
Finally, your framing is bullshit, because the views here are not owed to the original. "Piracy is a service issue," as it were, and the original could have taken an extra step to create a seamless video like this. Instead, he left those views on the table; gave them up.
Amazing.
I know nothing of this lore and this is by far the best thing out there!! Love it!
