  • Akai MPC Live vs Access Virus - Progressive Melodic House EDM Trance Performance Jam. In this video I used the Akai Force as a master keyboard to jam and record on the MPC Live which controls the Access Virus Synthesizer. One of my favorite synths ever. The sounds that come out of this beauty are amazing.
    This track has a melodic arp bassline combined with lush elements of brass like synth and warm and deep pads.
    Enjoy the chill beats in this song!

    Very Nice sound!!!! I hope to reach this level one day =)
    I wanted to ask you how do you work in multi from virus to MPC?
    To change the sound/part of the selected multi?
    I wanted to understand the preferences/settings to make it play correctly!
    I state that I connected the virus to USB
    And to connect an external Fx (for example the multistomp zoom) how should it be connected and set?
    thanks in advance keep making these videos =)

      Hey Andrea, I put the Virus into SEQ mode and let every part have it’s own midi channel. Then I send a program change per channel from the MPC to choose the correct sound. If you want external effects you can set the output for the parts to different outputs

      What I like to do is to have 1 multi but have every sound on its own midi channel. Per channel I send a program change. Never really got into the multi mode. Only the first 16 multis store the actual sound in the multi itself. The others just have references. Than I would rather send them myself 😁

      So it can play 16 channels parts or not at the same time? Not sure now?@@Expectaz

    • @Expectaz
      @Expectaz  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @davepaulsaunders Yes you can play 16 parts at the same time. It is limited by polyphony and complexity of patches, but yeah 16 parts is possible! I mostly use 4 at the same time since that’s enough and use other synths too

    • @davepaulsaunders

      Hi @VAGABL thanks! I send a program change on different midi channels to change the sounds individually. Is that what you mean? Basically it’s in sequencer mode and every sound has its own midi channel to do so

      @@Expectaz Converted 44.1khz .wav to .mp3 then converted to .m4v and wanted a free solution to get them uploaded to youtube to get a date and time stamp on it, didn't really know why I couldn't upload a thumbnail image for the track, so just left it black. I think if I had the right tools I would've put more time into it so I think when I remix these songs I will put some photography/video to it and then upload them. I have one track like that "I'm Feeling Good" - I know my youtube site is pretty disorganized, lol.

      @@Expectaz I'm not good at genre tagging my own music, in fact it's funny I knew someone that used to do that for a living and got quite tedious manually listening to tracks and cataloging them. KLATUU VII is Industrial Gothic from 1990. Others can be Gary Numanish like "On top of the ocean" or the 1988-1990 era uhm, so how I produced these older tracks would've been on the Ensoniq EPS Classic over 3 decades ago but I still have all of the original song/sequences and I used a lot of different vocoders from the 1970s and early 80s. (Alesis, Roland SVC-350, Korg MS-20, VC-10) etc. Fun gear. I replied twice to help clarify your original question since I can't see to well.

    • @Expectaz
      @Expectaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great stuff you make and also in an authentic way. Amazing that you still have your original material! Super to release them like this. You might be able to put some video on top of your audio but you would need a video editor. I use Davinci Resolve which is free. For merging and editing audio with video its great and you can also use vst plugins in the audio mixer so you can master your songs

      @@Expectaz Thanks a lot. I know right. Still have my legacy gear, to re-create, re-engineer, re-produce for everyone's listening ear =D
      I agree with putting video on top of a lot of songs, in fact, I have old video footage to this music on a VHS tape and really cool video footage of an art museum here. I think people might like it, if I can find the video - I'll convert then upload it.
      I think a big issue for me would be I get a bit over concerned about the old 4Track audio quality, is that actually something others factor in? I think the degradation of my old cassette tapes show how old the recordings actually are - and the older recordings were converted over 10 years ago and the original master cassette tapes put away.
      It's good to hear you say you like my music. I kind of kept most of my music underground for decades and thinking of releasing some old funny stuff off an album I did with an old bandmate. I'll give him credit but put it on my page when I get that converted.
      It'll be on an album named PIVOT
