Lets get into a video on how i seal my hydrostone jars using non toxic water based sealant that works well for me.

You got me on to cement jars and after testing different cement mixes, I found my cement. After a lot of research (and emails), I’ve found my sealer. So as we speak I’m wick testing!

Hi Rhonda, hope you are feeling better after having the cold. After viewing and watching you making cement candle jars, I have now ventured into that field as well. Such fun to make. I purchased the matt sealer you are using my question is did you find big lump of white sealer at the bottom. I have emailed to RIOT to see if it was old stock and waiting for a reply just thought I would ask you. Hope your family is well and love the earrings you have been making as well. Hi there! Love your information. I have some questions. How do you know the sealer worked?. What should I look out for when testing the vessel with wax?

Hi there. You will know because if its not sealed right then wax will seep through the stone and leave oil spots look for water based sealers like castmonite or jesmonite sealers. After sealing leave it for 4 days before making a candle in it

Question: Once demolded how long does the vessel need to cure before sealing? 1 day, 3 days? Does the vessel need a water bath like ones made with Cement All?
I let them cure for 5 days. I do water bath them but you dont have to. It gives strength to concrete or gypsum based products.

I use a pigment that i buy from a lady on etsy but you can use acrylic paint
Hi Rhonda, hope ya feeling better. Been under weather too and on catch up now. Curious, once you have sealed, are they waterproof to use as lil planters or vases?
They are waterproof but I would not use them with full water in them

How long do you let sit after sealing before putting wax in
Have you tried this sealer on a smooth/shiny surface using hydrostone? Like one that came from a resin mold? I have issues with uneven lines showing up on mine with every water based sealer I tried.
Yes you can see it a little but I don’t worry about that. There are some spray ones but that’s not water based

About 5 days then I seal it then wait another 3 days

I would not place outside unless you put an interior sealant on them

Do you have to put a coat on that outside off the vessel
No you dont need to but its porous so it will stain
can you use mod podge sealer?
I am not sure. It’s really about the sealer being able to handle the tempretures
