hi friends!! i’ve been getting a lot of comments about this… so i just want to say that i’m in no way encouraging anyone to just quit their 9 to 5 in order to pursue their art dreams. passion and talent are important but can only go a long way so please please please do your research when it comes to starting a business, save money for financial security, build/grow your brand (creating social media content is what personally helped me get my art/voice heard), and just make sure that you’re prepared before taking any sort of leap in your career (especially one that’s uncertain and often requires multiple streams of income like i mention in the video). i just wanted to share my personal experience - having attended university majoring in something completely different and working multiple jobs for 7+ years paying off my tuition/rent while also attempting to grow my art business. everyone’s creative journey/timeline is different so go at your own pace 🫶 i just want to encourage people to keep going and that it’s never too late to follow your art dreams :’))) - elle

Hiii Ellee🍒💖 I am so happy to meet u. I miss to be with people as you which as friend, motivating and positive and can feel, like and understand same things. I have a question to u🙏🏻 I worked 3 years as fashion designer till pandemic and then I got tired of working in companies cause of people, office life, stuffs etc. And I am now trying to do freelance things on my own but being unschedule and not knowing what should I do make me complicated. Now I am intesterested to drawing stickers, animes more than fashion now. And I wanna improve graphic design too I wanna learn better. My bro tells me apply as graphic designers to companies. I consider it. Maybe temporary till advance at freelance. But in this process what should I do now Elleeee?💖🙏🏻
How can I come out of my comfort zone in order to start a small business or maybe do something to get salary? Though I study two majors and a graphic design as my extra class, I feel like I am so useless by not doing anything beside studying. How can I sort it out? I'm a junior in University btw.
first video that i came across and decided to watch. took notes and also subscribed. thank you for going all in on creating. Your work is beautiful. sending love and light. -oddwish
I love your art, but I admit I smashed sub the 2nd you said Filipino! I so rarely see representation in the art community. Where we live, there is a rich Filipino history, significant to civil rights and labor movements - but it is seldom acknowledged & honored. Even less so in cultural & arts events. I politely request everyone engage with art from all cultures and ethnicities here in the states ( and support your local indigenous too! ) . Buy what you love / what you can, as it takes a lot to run a business ❤
Okay but this is someone who not only went to college but could also afford to live in places like New York and CA as well as set aside funding to fuel their art career in the first place. Not everyone can just "do what makes them happy" unless they are going to be happy living on the streets.
definitely, i hear you. i wasn’t and never want to encourage anyone to just quit their jobs. i worked for 7 years paying off my college tuition on my own along with rent (which was a really difficult time for me since i don’t have any family to rely on financially). once i saved enough money and built up my social media presence while working, that’s when i was finally able to focus on my art/content full time. doing freelance and working for yourself is in no way easy so i’d only recommend that people do this if they have a business plan, financial security, time outside of work to create, and are 100% passionate about what they’re doing. since every month is different (sometimes you’ll make x amount, sometimes you’ll make much less), you need to be prepared to have different streams of income to rely on. so to anyone hoping to create art full time, please be smart about it!!!

This is so cool and inspiring, I really wish you all the best! Thank you so much for such valuable info, I really hope I can be a self employed artist after college, and this made me feel a little more hopeful about it :)
Love to see another filipino queen 🥰
i'm a silent watcher, but this was a really insightful video! the work that goes into being a self employed artist is something I don't think most people understand. it's not something I'm interested in, but I have friends who are and I'm always down to find resources to help empower them. also, where did you get your jacket? :0 it's very cute!!
thank u so much for watching 💞 i totally agree ~ i don't think people realize how much marketing etc goes into this outside of all the creative stuff! i hope your friends find it helpful :) my nana jacket is by skoot apparel!
gust started being a freelance artist and oooh this video give me hope
i love how much detail you gave, so informative!!! :)
Thank you for sharing this info!! It was super helpful 💕 Before you were able to quit your job, we’re you doing that AND all these things at the same time?? I’m just starting out, but I don’t know what I should prioritize first 😵💫
of course :)) i'm happy to help in anyway i can! i didn't start patreon until after i quit my job but i was juggling my online shop/content creation with my full time job for a couple years before i left. i definitely think prioritizing content creation & sharing your art online would be the most helpful just because it would build your community/traffic before anything else~ u got this
Thank you for such an honest video! Wish you tons of success!
I enjoyed watching this video so much ♥️♥️🫶🏻
that makes me so happy !!! thank u for watching 💗

This video is so so valuable
Getting a little anxious over thinking about being overwhelmed being a new freelancer lol. Btw, I have that Totally Spies picture as my laptop wallpaper. That show was one of my favs along with Sailormoon 😊
Thank you for giving an insight into how you can make money from your passion. I’m getting back into art and it’s exciting to think I could support myself financially from it someday.
Great video, Elle! Very thorough and informative :) Also, the way my face lit up when you mentioned Xanga and Myspace, Lol. I wish I remembered all the HTML codes! Web designing was so fun back then 😊
thanks so much char 💗 i tried to be super transparent about everything so i'm glad it's been helpful for people! also LOL such a throwback ~ the only thing i remember from html codes is " for links 😆i miss the page counters and colorful scroll bars !!!
@@sheselle omg yes alll of that! Lol. I think I used last month on my website 😂
Love these types of vids for both inspiration and ideas.
Neooooooopets! Yes! I was just talking to my SO about how Neopets was such a lovely memory from my childhood. OMG. I still miss it.
hi, for your flat rigid mailers, do you mail them with usps forever stamps? If so how may stamps do you need? and what are the dimesions they need to be, in order to be able to mail them with stamps? thnxs
Thank you so much for the advice!!! Helps me a lot!!❤
Thank you for this video! You are so cute❤️
This is my dream 😭😭 thank you for this!
Thanku for all the tips! ❤ such a helpful video!
Thank you for sharing your experience :) I am hoping to start a small bizz, but I am still in the beginning stages. This video was super helpful.
Omg I love how I stumbled upon this video. Love how I found a pinay artist from the bay
I've always been curious about making clothing or other items with more overhead. Obviously you spend more producing a shirt with your print on it than you do if you just sell the print. But do shirts typically sell better than prints? Or at least good enough to justify the costs?
Immediately subbed when you said you were Filipino 🥰
Love your vids ❤❤❤
This is really inspiring. Thank you!
The free version of DaVinci Resolve is also great for starting out with editing video content!
@@lenorarowe8533 oooh thanks sm for this suggestion 🫶
This is so good , tysm for sharing😍
this is amazing! i loved to hear all the tips, thank you sm for this video 🥰 i was actually quite intrigued with the faire marketplace for wholesales, do you have any video where you talk about it and how it works? I found your channel recently and I'm loving to watch your content 😊
But in this process what should I do now Elleeee?💖🙏🏻
i really enjoyed your video, thanks a lot! i have a random question lol, where is your vest from it looks so pretty on you! ^^
Diste muy buenos consejos! Felicidades por tu éxito… saludos desde Portugal 😊❤
This is so inspiring for me as I work to become a professional artist and shop owner 💜💜💜
this really is so inspiring. good on you! :D
This was really inspiring, thank you :)
ur so pretty like wow
omg you’re too sweet thank u 😭😭💗
How can I come out of my comfort zone in order to start a small business or maybe do something to get salary? Though I study two majors and a graphic design as my extra class, I feel like I am so useless by not doing anything beside studying. How can I sort it out? I'm a junior in University btw.
and I love your video sister
first video that i came across and decided to watch. took notes and also subscribed. thank you for going all in on creating. Your work is beautiful. sending love and light. -oddwish

Thankyou sooo much!❤❤❤
Thanks for the tips ❤
taking notes
You gave me whiplash saying Zanga, I swear this site is widely unknown I thought I made it up in my head 😂❤
hahaha i’m a 90s baby so i grew up with xanga, myspace, & neopets 😆
Ur videos look beautiful! What equipment do you use to film your content?
