Man oh man folks mad in these comments that he criticized MSNBC. The inability to see problems on the side you align with is exactly how we got the result we did on Tuesday.
Easy to take the moral high ground against today's Republican party but I agree we gotta focus on policy and hope that politics will come back to that one day.
Perhaps but I'm tired of people putting people down who worked their asses off to get an education. Being put down for being a decent human being with an education. You can't have a real discussion with people who hurl vile words at you.
Can someone show Jon the video of Jesse waters saying wives can’t vote against their husbands wishes etc? I mean I will take moralizing over birds and environment any day over 16th century “Christian” values.
Agree with correct/incorrect "screeching." Come on -- you can't lie, lie, fabricate, distort etc truth and facts and not expect listeners and other journalists not to push back! And, when you abuse the air waves as those who play loose and free with facts, you relinquish any rights to determine how others respond to the toxic audible brew you spew into the universe!
I think part of his point/idea is that combatting misinformation in an effective way is far more about listening than it is about attacking. People often believe a lie because it speaks to, or confirms, something they've already been feeling. By figuring out what that feeling is, what that concern is, we can address it in a way that's grounded in fact/evidence. Undercut the need for the lie, rather than prove the lie wrong.
The birds would be seagulls looking to swipe some freshly-caught tuna-annoying & screechy but non-threateningly so, basically more pest than ally. It’s a diplomatic yet vivid way of describing how liberal media has become something of a bottom-feeding scavenger trailing off the more action-oriented tactics of the right (which are also heinous, obviously; this is clearly just a brief clip from a much longer & more in-depth critique of the reactionary style of the liberal mainstream media).
What are you even talking about? How is trying to stay true to the facts moralizing? And maybe you ought to look in the mirror cuz I dare say some of your comments and opinions are sideways
call men that need to vote for you Toxic and present them a Black She/Her that gets the nomination on a platter to vote for. what could possibly go wrong?

Strongly agree. It's hard to listen to outlets like MSNBC sometimes, and others. Not that it's easier to listen to Fox, though.
I gave up on msnbc because it was so echoing and unproductive
By all means, let’s mock fact- checking🙄
Considering MSNBC is full of dishonest shills - - I doubt the "corrections" are correct.
He’s saying the way they sound and all interrupt each other, it’s a mess.
How is fact - checking “moralizing?”
He's usually got a hilarious roast lined up for the right on his show, but after this election, he must still be in a strange state of comedic shock.
Ok, but there’s a lot of stuff on Fox that’s just some guy screaming at the camera 🤔
Tucker Carlson
@@durrr1007 You beat me to it.
It was awesome to realize he was saying this to Ezra fucking Klein
LOL What? Jon Stewart is liberal media what an asshole

No. We need rhetoric. Policy doesn't matter anymore
@Thanksforaskingme okay, just don't struggle as the Republican quit quicksand swallows you.
@@juanfuerte161 for sure. It takes Bernie Sanders level of discipline to remain left of center while being a populist
@Thanksforaskingme everything's left of the modern Republican and Democratic parties. Bernie Sanders is a truth teller.

You're missing the point.
Good thing you quoted “Christian” because most Christian’s around the 16th century were not real Christians
@@mwl5not just missing the point-illustrating the point lol

I think I understand what hes saying but like what is his solution? To not combat misinformation?

@marcusrobertson5627 Thats a helpful way of framing it, thanks.
I didn't watch the episode this is from but try watching it. This is a clip
I despise MSNBC, but, well, I don't get John's simile about birds and tuna boat.
I think he is saying that you have to do more than just point out errors made by your opponent. You need to make it relevant to people’s lives.
I do
@@summertime24133 Well, proof positive that you are more clever than I.

I hate the smugness of the left media or pundits when they talk about any political issue
Jon is trying way too hard to be around the curve that he's skidding off the road and into a ditch.

Jon, give me a break about FOX.
Schneider much?
Boo hoo jon
Oh just be funny
This grifter now wants to get on the right side lol
This is the first sensible thing I've heard Jon Stewart say in many years.
